At first glance, I thought it was a little overpriced and menu seamed limited...now that was just first glance. At first bite on the other hand....WOW.Everything they do is done well. The hush puppies.... How could something so simple be so good? The fried chicken is so good and so moist. The house pickled veggies were incredible.Give it a shot, you will be pleasantly surprised. Yum yum!

How funny is it that their website is: [https://www.dirtybirds69.com/]? After they moved from their old Blackstone location, I only had the chance to visit their new spot once before moving to another state, and I'm really bummed about it. They started baking their own bread for their sandwiches, which took their food to the next level. I didn't think their OG sandwich could get any better, but it did. We ordered the OG sandwich and the biscuits and gravy because I'm always on the hunt for good Bs&Gs, though I've yet to find one that truly hits the mark--and this visit was no exception; it was just okay. The OG sandwich was far superior, and I was pretty sad when my boyfriend devoured most of it without offering me another bite. What's impressive is that they make almost everything in-house, except for the fries, which is a rarity these days when you can get so many things premade. Service was fine--nothing remarkable. We visited during an off-peak time, so the restaurant was quiet and practically empty, which made for a nice, peaceful meal.

It took me way too long to get to Dirty Bird's for the first time. The inside is very nice & fun. You could even play video games on the bar TV! Super friendly & helpful service. Order at the bar, and they'll bring it out to you. Portions are large!!! But it is pricey especially if you're buying a pop or beer to drink. If you're taking home leftovers for the next day, the money is worth it in my opinion. This was some high quality chicken. The Deebo sauce is a must if you like some extra flavor & sauce. The onion rings were also delicious. BUT THE HUSH PUPPIES were the star of the show!!!!!- fried sweet tea brined tenders - blue corn hush puppies - onion rings Definitely coming back for the big chicken sandwiches!!!!

Had dirty birds tonight! Love this place ! Operated and owned my fellow Roadies! They were busy tonight which makes me happy for them. About a hour wait but it went by quickly. The bartender was so friendly as well. I could literally drink their Debo sauce. So damn good! Had the OmaHawt tonight. Can't go wrong here

This was an awesome and worthy stop on the trip, I wanted something iconic to Omaha while we passed through for lunch and this was perfect. Mamma J was really helpful walking me through the menu and I was happy to know they had a gluten free option for their sweet tea brined tenders. I had them over a seasonal salad and my friend got the Omaha hot fried chicken sandwich. Everything was so perfectly cooked and the meat itself was so juicy I won't forget that chicken tender. The place itself is real large with lots of natural light on the corner of a pretty quiet block.

We entered Dirty Birds looking for a filling dinner after a day of driving. It's located in kind of a triangle shaped building, with plenty of seats both inside and out. It looks like it would be great for large groups given how large some of their tables are. The restaurant itself is counter service - you order at the counter all the way in the back, take a number and wait for your food at a table. We ended up ordering a couple of items given how hungry we were. Omahawt ($14) - Giant sandwich incoming - super huge breaded chicken thigh that completely dwarfs the bun. It turns out that a lot of it is breading, especially on the sides, but that breading is delicious and doesn't detract from the sandwich at all. The chicken is tossed in a pool of spicy cayenne oil, but while the oil is an angry red color, it's more bark than bite, with a smoky and bitter taste than heat. I couldn't really detect any sweetness or other flavors in the oil that I'd normally associate with a Nashville hot chicken. I'd consider it to be maybe a mild if you compare to a normal hot chicken place. The meat itself is tender and moist. Perched on top of the chicken are pickled green beans and underneath are plenty of pickles, fresh and tangy to contrast the spicy flavors. Everything is on a fluffy buttered homemade bun, although it isn't enough to contain all of the oil dripping off of the chicken. Seriously, there's a ton of oil dripping all over the place and you will get your hands dirty eating this - be sure to wash them after eating, or else you might regret it! (4/5)Biscuits & Gravy ($17) - This is a beautiful dish. A perfectly fried egg, with lacy, brown, crispy edges and a just set yolk rests on a fried chicken thigh, with biscuits and a fantastic sausage gravy to serve as the base. There's a dash of black pepper on the yolk and minced chives all around. The chicken has flavorful, crispy breading, with steaming hot, tender meat inside. I could pull pieces of the chicken apart with just my fork. The biscuit is on the dense side - I wouldn't eat it by itself, but it works well in this dish and helps to soak up the delicious, heavy gravy. The gravy is seriously fantastic with a deep meaty savoriness - I absolutely love this gravy and it really brings the entire dish together. Picked onions sprinkled on top go well to add some tang and helps clear the palate and cuts through the richness of the gravy. (5/5)We also got a basket of fries for $5 - these are pretty typical commercial battered fries, fried well. They are perfectly serviceable but I actually don't recommend getting them because the entree potion sizes are gigantic. We ended up having a bunch of leftovers and basically not eating any of the fries since we were so full. Dirty Birds serves some fantastic fried chicken and this meal was easily the best we had on our drive through Nebraska. I definitely recommend it!Bathrooms - One individual room for each gender. The interior is super dark inside - there's only a single dim light but the walls, floor, and ceiling are all painted black. Not my favorite.

Forwarned the wait was an hour on a Sunday afternoon due to everything being freshly made in house. Ordered a couple cocktails and sat amongst a full restaurant. Portions are huge! 2 people could easily eat one OG sandwich and the fried pickles, pickles are housemaid and delicious! Sandwich was crisp and large! Definitely a must if in Downtown Omaha and they are open!
