Dirt's Place

Great tiny bar. And by tiny, I mean seats about 30 people. Tightly. But nice. The bartender is right in front of everyone so there is no bad service. Dirt even opened a bag of popcorn for us to snack on. There are a lot of cold beers to choose from and prices are reasonable. I plan on spending a lot of time at Dirt's Place.

Great bar for drinks. Canned beer and mixed drinks. Full to capacity which means around 30. You get free pub mix which hits the spot after a few beers. Also if you spend some time drinking you can usually talk them out of a coozy or two. Cheap beer and cool locals. Worth the stop n.

This place rules. I went to some other bar in town and it was trash. But this place rules. Loved the bartender, loved the patrons, loved the drink selection. A+.

Dirt's place is a good old-fashioned neighborhood bar. Although it sounds hackneyed to say it, you're only a stranger here once. You'll for sure get "the look" from the regulars on your first visit, by the time you order your second round you'll feel like you've been coming here for years. Tiny with maybe 4 tables and 8-10 seats at the bar, it can get claustrophobic on busy afternoons and evenings. You feel so at home it doesn't matter. Dirt's is nothing fancy or trendy, but if you like a good drink at a good place with a side of friendly midwestern hospitality on the side, it just might be the place for you too!

What a fun friendly place for a beer or awesome bloody mary!! We were headed back from Knoxville, IA races. Each year we find a different way back to Topeka, this year took us through Shenandoah IA. We stayed at Express Inn and Suites on 59 Hwy and decided to look for a Bloody Mary and a place to watch some football. We were told by a gentleman at HyVee that locals go to Dirt's Place...glad we listened!

I couldn't really begin to describe how awesome the owner is here. We showed up late just at closing and she opened back up for us. Great drinks and great service. Serves your beers with a koozie. Very good bourbon selection as well.
