DGX

For a downtown grocery/convenience store, this is a great little spot.Nice selection of items at generally reasonable prices. Sometimes a little higher than you would find at a larger supermarket...but you won't find a larger supermarket in this part of town! It's in the Brandeis Building, and to not distract from the majesty, the signage is kept small and vague, so you may not realize the Dollar General goodness available here.I have noticed a few expired items on the shelves, thus the 4-star review.

Popped into this DG this morning to check out if it's really as good as reported. It is. I have shopped DG stores in several states. I usually find them well stocked, moderately clean and with boxes of of merch waiting to be stocked. The staff feels hurried and disinterested. This store is a refreshing upgrade. Shelves look great and the store feels bright and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back.

This Dollar General store is beautiful. Everything is always in order, it is spotless, and the employees are all super nice. Go there!

I love having a DGX within walking distance of my apartment... Perfect for small, quick visits for the essentials... Really good prices... Friendly service...

We moved into the building last summer and stop in at least twice a week. I expected a store with a small variety of things, at inflated prices because it's downtown. Nope. The variety is excellent, between the DGX and the food court, you could live in the building without ever leaving for days. Like in a polar vortex. The staff here are always pleasant, and helpful. The store is clean, and the merchandise is fresh. Turnover in the refrigerated areas seems very good compared to a few of the larger grocery stores around here. Every time I walk through I am delighted to find something else they carry that I wasn't expecting. If you live or work downtown, this is a great place to shop.
