The day trip I went on to attend the Annual Julefest made a pit stop here as part of the tour. Half our group was able to sit at the bar in the gift shop area for a wine tasting while the rest, including myself, were able to go listen to one of the owners explain the processes used to tend the vines and later make the wine. It was very interesting and truly is a labor of love especially for a small operation such as this! I was most impressed with an old barn they had converted into a beautiful space that can be rented out for special events. I could definitely see having a wedding reception, family reunion, or small holiday party here. While I did not sample their actual product myself, I was assured by others that it was quite good. At their website, they describe hosting summer outdoor concerts and other fun activities.

Nice stop. Tons of wines to choose from!Owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about wines. Also about the community. Gift shop has a lot of variety too. Not just the same old stuff you see everywhere else.Looking forward to coming back in the spring.

My boyfriend and I stopped by this place after the Danish Windmill stop and I must say that I LOVED this place! The owner is so kind and so willing to answer questions! We took a stroll through the vineyards and then he took us inside to look at the processing of the wine, and since it's a small scale winery, it's not like Napa Valley with the barrels lined up and the corking and bottling done on a large scale. They definitely put a lot of love and care into their product and the owner showed us around and after that we had a wine tasting. It was very delicious wine, I wanted to take them all with me, but for the sake of the wine, we could not, because we were traveling across country. But this place is such a gem! I am so glad that we decided to stop! It's beautiful and the people are so kind!

A nice stop if you visit Elk Horn and the Danish museum or windmill. Such a beautiful vineyard and so quiet on a secluded dirt road. I came here last year but I forgot they closed and were open by appointment only January, February, and March. Love the peach wine and wanted to stop in for more!! Owner is super nice and gave us a tour.

I visited Danish countryside wines yesterday with my husband, best friend and her husband for wine tasting. I tried several different friut wines and enjoyed each one. I left with a bottle of berry Essa and blueberry delight. I can't wait to pop them open! The young man at the counter was friendly and helpful. It a pretty country drive once we got off the interstate. A little over an hour from Omaha.

My friend and I had just picked up a new puppy in Des Moines, and thought it might be time for a potty break. A winery sounded like a good place to take a stop, so we did. While I was walking the pup, my friend went in to inquire if puppies were allowed - they were. During the conversation with the owner, we learned that he was an ordained minister. He helped me with the final name selection for the puppy and then asked if he could anoint him with frankincense the myrrh. The wines were delicious (we purchased several bottles), and needless to say the owner was wonderful - he gave us a tour of the winery, and was very knowledgeable of the wines AND anointed my new puppy!

What an unexpected pleasant surprise! We were visiting Elk Horn to do some Danish genealogy and saw this winery listed on Yelp. Great wines and interesting conversations. A must stop if you are in the area.
