Wow! What a beautiful facility. Thoroughly modern with a fantastic layout. Meeting rooms, large sections for children books, large CD checkout available and the list goes on....Librarians were super helpful and come to find out it is available to Carter Lake residents as well Even if you are not from the area you will be welcome!

I have used this library for many years. It has always been a great place to quench my love for books and knowledge. The staff are friendly and seem to know their job. CBPL is well equipped to help most patrons needs. If I could change one thing at the library, it would be letting small children run wild and free. Neither the parents or library staff will try to quiet them down. It's hard to concentrate with screaming and running around the tables and shelves.

I walk here when I need to hunker down to work in a quiet controlled environment sans the temptation of the normal home distractions.I bring my laptop and make myself comfortable on one of the many tables in the open space of the library. Plenty of light pours in; the openness is inviting. Throughout the library there are plenty of tables and chairs; make yourself comfortable in a new spot each visit. The physical location offers your regular library fare: books, audiobooks, DVDs, etc. Online there's free access to music, eBooks, digital magazines, etc. Low and behold the evolving public library!Did you know you can reserve a meeting room? Have your next meeting here (and for free).Us Council Bluffs residents are very lucky to have a relatively new, updated and clean state-of-the-art library. Take advantage of it!

The facility is nice and the you can reserve conference rooms for free. They have good AV equipment and the staff are quite helpful. There is one drawback and that is there is only metered parking and it is not for more than a 4 hour stent. Otherwise you have to park a couple of blocks away to find unmetered street parking. The library itself is lovely and they have a great selection. If you are in the neighborhood stop by...

I have been coming to this library since I was in junior high and it has been great all these years. It is a great place to go when you need to study. When I was in college, I visited this library a few times a week for hours at a time to study. It helped out a lot. They have a really nice collection of books, movies and CD's to rent. You can rent a DVD for up to three weeks! And you can rent five out at a time, I think. A free way to rent movies. The place is always clean and smelling nice. The library employees are also always nice and eager to help. This is a great library that will be around forever.

We have been coming to the library since we were kids off and on and it has always been a state of the art, amazing resource for our community. As parents of 2 kiddos under 2 you begin to appreciate it even more. Besides the endless selection of books, articles, online resources, there is also a super up to date selection of DVDs, video games, and music. The library also hosts tons of free community events from kids story time to kids clinics, resource fairs etc. I would so love to give the CB library a perfect rating if it wasn't for one thing. The bathrooms have had their doors removed and the kids changing tables are right inside the doors so there is zero privacy for your kiddos while using the changing tables. This is both for the men's and women's restrooms. That is literally my only critique to an otherwise fabulous community resource but it's an important enough one that I felt like I couldn't quite give the library the rare 5 stars.

The building itself is beautiful. The library is well organized, spacious, and for the most part the staff were very helpful.

After the Heartland Pride Parade festivities were winding down I stopped in to cool off and rummage around for awhile. As walked the main entranceway I looked around-- quickly realizing that far too much time had passed since I had last visited. I immediately took off to wander down an isle, dragging my fingers across a row of books. It's something I've always enjoyed doing after reading The Shadow of the Wind. Read it sometime if you'd like to learn why.Beyond that, staff are very nice and there are plenty of comfy places to longue about. The whole place has a very nice, updated feel to it. Online eBook/audiobooks, videos, CD's and video games are a great options/media that not all libraries have.

I miss the old library feel and smell. But this place is larger and offers classes for little ones free of charge! They do many activities and classes every week, as well as host field trips for schools and day cares in the area.
