I needed to tighten the headset on my bike so I stopped in today. The shop was a little crowded so I did the work on the sidewalk. I mentioned I needed a new seat and was told I could rummage through a couple of boxes full. I found a wonderful seat and donated $10.While I was there a neighborhood kid came in with his broken bike. The staff helped him out and off he rode. If your bike needs repairs or upgrades and you don't mind getting your hands a little dirty, give them a try.

An amazing store with a great mission! For years, I would drive by this little shop, not knowing what it was. Years later, I finally came in and volunteered to build some bikes. The people are so kind, patient, and willing to share knowledge on putting bikes together and fixing bikes. Such an amazing part of the Gifford neighborhood!

Generosity. That's the word that most befits this entity. I say 'entity' because it's not quite a store, not quite a charity, not quite a club, and yet it's all of these things. People sharing talent, time and a love of bicycles means for an enriching experience every time you visit. Charles, the manager, is quite possibly the most calm and authentic person you may ever meet, and welcomes everyone to his outreach. Come be generous, come receive generosity, come enjoy celebrating one of the greatest inventions ever!Open Wednesday through Sunday, split between "open shop" and kids' build-a-bike programs.

This reminds me of my university campus bike shop crossed with a community outreach program. Very interesting and possibly brilliant concept. Not your typical bike shop. No shiny steeds in the stable, just lots of well loved tools, random used parts, and interesting personalities filling this tiny workshop. On a more serious note, they offer the knowledge and pretty much any tool you could ever need to build, repair, or disassemble most bikes. Very limited hours, probably due to the nature of the all-volunteer staff. 12-4 pm Saturday6-8 pm Wednesday6-8 pm ThursdayStop in, fix your bike, make a difference.

Not exactly a bike store, but more of an open workbench with lots of tools and spare parts. At this place, kids and adults can learn how to build or repair a bicycle. Benjamin kindly showed me how to replace my chain. Apparently it had stretched out over a period of ten years. I learned how to measure the chain using a special tool and then how to replace it, and it only costed me the price of the part which was $18. If you have time and want to learn, this is the place to go.
