City Tap House

Found this place by accident because ...well because of an EV issue! I'm a true believer that things happen for a reason and so it was just meant to be! EV charging station conveniently setup across the street so it only made sense to get a bite to eat and try their assortment of craft beers. The customer service was just as good as the food and drinks! I don't know the older gentlemans name but he couldn't have been anymore hospitable offering to provide a ride to a hotel in the area which we were very appreciative of, but managed to get back on the road. If ever in the area please do yourself a favor and drop in. Guaranteed you won't forget it!

Pizza was really good, we enjoyed the atmosphere here. Although they seem understaffed on waitresses (we came on a Friday night with only 1 waitress) there was a birthday party get together going on. Our kids never got refills and the price for 1 soda was $2.50 which is extremely high with no refills... waitress only checked on us 1 time. Beer selection was ok, could be better by including blue moon, Busch, Budweiser etc....

Let's start with great bar! TopShelf alcohol and a menu featuring pizza. I have no doubt this pizza gets the pass from middle American but as an Italian kid from NY I knew better to not order the pizza. Did I mention how great my cocktails were? They were fantastic one of the few places in town if not only, you can get a "cocktail" other wise you're at Lied Lodge. I ordered a ham and cheese with apple slices panini. I figured bread with meat cheese and fruit pressed warm couldn't be terrible. I was correct, it worked, write home about no, but decent Sammie while drinking. The bar tender who made my cocktails was extremely accommodating and got our orders correct. Food came out timely. Interior is cozy with self service beer and wine taps. It's definitely worth stopping in here for something a bit different with great service.

i was just trying to eat my food and the server kept asking me how my food was and i was nasty!!!!!!!!! and the forks where crusty with mold i do not recommend!!!! and y'all got me drunk!!!!!

Great service, ambiance and food. There were six in our party in town for work and we all agreed our food was the very tasty and will definitely be back. I had the 7" Thai pizza and loved the fresh basil and delicious flavors. The food came out quickly and overall service was excellent.

Driving through Nebraska City on a Saturday and decided to stop for lunch, what a treat it was to find the City Tap House! Great space downtown, on Central. It's wonderful to see businesses keeping the downtown of this historic city alive! Inside, they have it tastefully appointed, with table seating and a beautiful bar. The main attraction for a tap house has to be beer taps, well they have that covered with the tap wall! A wide variety to choose, from light, to hoppy to thick and dark! You're guaranteed to find something you like, and it's pay for what you want. If you just want a sip to try, that's all you pay for. If you want a whole pint, it's as cheap or cheaper by the glass than most bars! What might throw you off on the taps is that it is self service, but the staff is ready to help sort you out and show you how their system works, it's ridiculously easy once you know. If you're not in the mood for a beer, they have a nice selection of liquors and wine, many of which are local to the area!Then menu is short and light, but big on flavor! This is a great stop passing through town, or better yet as a destination! We enjoyed it so much that we stopped back in on our way home!Arrive for food and other drinks was wonderful! Can't rave enough about it, I highly recommend!

We found City Tap House by happenstance as we were passing through Nebraska City and I so glad we did! The pizza was hands down the best pizza ever, it would give NYC pizza a run for their money. The atmosphere was a perfect mix of of loud-but not too loud. The Thursday night crowd was enjoying the food and fellowship. Lots of talking and laughter filled the air.If this isn't enough to bring you in....check out the beer bar. Wish we were close enough to make this a regular date night spot!

Had the Caprese pizza and the ham apple panini and both were excellent. Impressed with the fresh basil growing at the front of the kitchen and added to our food. Wide variety of beer, wine and spirits. Bartender was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be stopping back as we travel thru frequently.

If I could give less than one star I would. We stopped here on a road trip heading home and it was one of the only places in the area. We sat down at the bar and the bartender acted annoyed we were even there. I had to ask for a food menu and was told a few times about the self serve beer which seemed like a way to not have to deal with us. I explained we were there for food and 20 minutes later after multiple attempts to get attention of staff to order, we got up and left because it felt like we were being blatantly ignored. A few other customers around us were also struggling to get attention of servers. A very disappointing experience.
