I had to stop mid eating my lunch just to write this review. It has a low rating on Yelp and I think if you're anything like me you might have skipped over this place thinking it's bad. I've been pushing myself to try new places and so decided to try this out myself and WOW! This is some of the best Chinese food I have found in Omaha and in general and trust me I have had a lot of bad Chinese in my days.When I think of American Chinese food and how it should taste this is exactly how I picture it. I got the lunch specials which includes the entree of your choice, rice or lo mein with a upcharge and either crab Rangoon or an egg roll. An excellent value for lunch you get lots of food!My go to dishes are cashew chicken and Mongolian beef, I tried both and both were really good! I'm very thankful I have a really good cashew chicken option to choose from because most places never make it the way I like it and this place does!If you notice the negative reviews they were many years old like even up to 9 years and complaining about things like not having delivery drivers, obviously times are changed and I got this order quickly on DoorDash! Don't let the old reviews discourage you from trying! Delicious Chinese and I will definitely be back!

Ok, so I've somewhat of a regular since my initial review and while I find it appetizing, everything I've ordered is swimming in brown sauce. The Szechwan chicken is still my favorite but until I get the urge again I'm going to stick with that.

I ordered chicken fried rice and it was delicious. It was good and simple. I chose the egg roll. They also included sweet and sour sauce for me and soy sauce and a fortune cookie! I have ordered from this location previously and I will continue to eat here.

My sister and I did DoorDash pickup tonight ( a Friday evening) and our food was ready 10 early and when we picked it up and brought it home it was still hot! Everything we got was really tasty. I can be really REAAALLLY iffy and picky when it comes to American Chinese, but this will be my go to place fromNow on. We got the general chicken, peanut butter chicken both with veggie fried rice, wonton soup, and crab rangoons and I can genuinely say I'd order them all again.

I've never been disappointed in China 1! The food is always fresh, hot, and tasty. The general's chicken is the best! The staff is always welcoming and the portions are big enough to share or take home for a second meal. I've been going to China 1 for years and will continue to go as long as they are open.
