Chieftain Van Lines

We used Chieftain for a move from Louisiana to Omaha a little over two years ago. I have been bragging about them ever since. I packed most of my belongings, but had them pack fragile items. Everything arrived in excellent condition and earlier than our estimated arrival date. The two gentlemen who moved everything were so friendly, professional and efficient. We had to use a different mover to come back to Louisiana a month ago and the experience was horrible. It made me long for the amazing service Chieftain provided.

My family and I just moved to Lincoln, NE to take a position at UNL. We used Chieftain for the move and had a wonderful experience. I can't say enough about the customer service in every aspect. Cyndy in the office was excellent. They were all so helpful, patient and clear in their communication. It was the first time we had ever used a moving service so I had a lot of questions about the process. Once the movers arrived, they were quick and professional and made the process less stressful than I anticipated. We enjoyed working with Eric and his team. Thanks for a great moving experience and we will certainly use Chieftain again in the future.

Military move, everything was great! The driver, Chris, is awesome!! Very professional and very helpful. They packed everything carefully and expediently and nothing of mine was damaged. I've moved a few times and this was by far the best company I've dealt with.

I haven't been this disappointed in moving company in a while. Chieftain was the inbound crew to unload our truck. They showed up with one less crew member than they were supposed to, and moaned and groaned to us the entire day about it. It took those three workers 9.5 HOURS to unload our truck of only 14,000 pounds, most of which went straight into the garage. They refused to cover the floors stating that it wasn't a requirement and we weren't "special". Our representative assured us that it was a requirement, but the crew didn't care. They tromped through snow and dirt all through our new home, all over the carpets and hardwood floors. They even used their dollies on our hardwood floors, gauging the floor in several places because they were too lazy to even carry things down ONE STEP into the living room.One of the crew members spent more time sitting on our couch or an office chair in our basement conducting business on Craig's List to sell his truck than he did actually unloading. They left trash all over, and left my bathrooms pretty gross, too, if you know what I mean. Though I had the heat barely on (55) they felt the need to open all of the windows upstairs without asking, even damaging mini blinds, when I actually heard one of them say, " the dumb *%&ch thinks she needs the f%$&ing heat on". Classy.They didn't have a ladder in their truck, so instead they used my hutch to stand on to get boxes off the top layer, thereby breaking the shelves. Finally, when boxes needed to go down stairs, they would argue and tell us that it should really be upstairs and why would I want something in the basement. I don't usually complain about military moves. It goes to the lowest bidder, I expect less than stellar service, but this one took the cake and made me feel compelled to warn others. I have never felt like my stuff was just trash to someone else before. I will say that the youngest crew member was polite and did place things where they were labeled. I feel like they don't usually do mil moves, as they had to keep calling the office to ask about things. Either way, boxes were dropped, left all over, our mattresses were unboxed in the truck and dragged up the driveway. All around, don't use them if you have the choice.

I purchased a piano at an estate sale.The family lives in another city a I need to make arrangements to move piano. I called Saturday about 1:00 pm and no answer.no recording. Their suppose to be open from 8 to 5. No customer service, now what,well.....NEXT.

If I could give this review 0 stars I would. The movers were nice during packing and loading, however I am very upset that when my household goods arrived I was missing 6 pairs of boots and my shredder. The only thing that was put on my inventory was "shoes" and those 6 pair of boots were not included in that box. I called to inquire about my missing items and all they said was they didn't have any boots. I would not trust this company unless you are watching them every second.

We have moved 4 times in the last 10 years and this was by far the best moving company we have had. We even had them store our stuff for 6 months while we waited to move into our new place. I would highly recommend them to anyone that inquired.

Military move scheduled almost 3 months in advance. First impression was good, family owned business, nice gentleman did the pre-move assessment. Downhill from there. They packed up our items (hid a broken figurine among things they weren't packing, when asked shrugged it off). They arrived on load out day with a miniature truck, after starting and not giving my husband a straight answer about what was going on informed him they would be loading 2 small trucks, unloading them in storage and waiting for a driver to be assigned. So that is moving our items 3 times minimum. Several days later and they still don't have a plan to ship the items out with a possibility that they may not deliver until after our original guaranteed date. Meanwhile, I am living out of a suitcase with my 3 & 4 year old. NOT pleased.... DO NOT use them if you can avoid it. I may post and update later... we are expecting missing boxes and lots of breakage given their "plan"One star only because you have to give something.

Do not use this company! They dropped our hot tub and are only offering 50% replacement value when it was 100% their fault. Go with someone else who will stand behind their actions!

Chieftain Van Lines has moved us more than once and will continue getting our repeat business in the future if needed. We have always had a great experience with the family owned business. They were professional, caring, and very easy to work with. I personally have referred friends and associates to this company for moving and storage and have always gotten very positive feedback. I highly recommend them.
