Chez Hay Catering

Loved having my June 2018 Wedding here! The space is so beautiful - really speaks for itself allowing us to not have to over do with the decor. I was an out of state bride (Lincoln though is Home) and working with Starr, mostly virtually, was so easy. Then when I was in town she always allowed me to visit so we could plan decor. I ended up doing my ceremony in the same space and the team was amazing re-staging for the reception. The food was good, the staff was nice and again the space is just so pretty-- and a great location especially having a lot of out of town guests. Close to hotels and bars/restaurants for guests to enjoy during their visit. The minor things are there are some dings on the walls and some of the carpet is worn and threads coming loose but again over all I had a great experience and so did my guests!

I recently attended a wedding at Chez Hay Catering's event space in downtown Lincoln. The space itself was clean and modern. Being on the second floor, there are nice views of the street life below. The wedding I attended was pretty intimate, with about 40 guests. Chez Hay's space was perfect for a group this size.The staff set up and broke down the space with ease, transforming it from wedding chapel to buffet to dance floor, all the while the bartender kept the drinks flowing. The food itself was great -- spinach salad, potatoes, green beans, and mixed vegetable with tofu -- all vegan. For the meat eaters, there was a roast and turkey breast to chomp on as an entree.All in all, I really enjoyed my time at Chez Hay. Definitely a great option if you're looking to throw a private event, catering included, in Lincoln.

I attended a wedding reception here this past weekend and I would give Chez Hay 4 stars for the space. The previous reviewer does a good job describing the place. It's cool and loft-y and I love the windows all around. However, if I had to give stars for the food, I would give it 1 star...at most. I don't know what to say, the food was really just not good! The beef and pork roasts were really dry. I mean, the beef looked like a gray log! Everything was just very basic and uninteresting. They had a chocolate fountain, but there were only pretzels and animal crackers for dipping. No cookies, no pound cake, no berries, nothing. AND their bar has no Jager. What kind of "full" bar is this?!If you're planning an event here, I would suggest borrowing the space, but having it catered elsewhere. There HAS to be better food in Lincoln.

I attended a reception hosted by Chez Hay. Everything was great except the mac and cheese suuuuccked. And they didn't clear any empty plates from the tables. Everything else was great!

We have had Chez Hay cater a couple of events for us. The first was our wedding. Chez Hay did a great job of accommodating our requests, including coming up with their own version of a German dish, Currywurst.We recently had Chez Hay cater my husband's 40th birthday party. We ordered the 6 appetizer option for 14 people. Each and every item we ordered was absolutely delicious, and the best part--we have a ton of leftovers!Our menu was: Currywurst (created especially for us by Chez Hay), Duck Skewers, Balsamic Brie Turnovers (These are sooo good!), Tofu with Coconut Red Curry Sauce (really yummy vegan/vegetarian dish), Roast beef sandwiches (beef was perfectly cooked medium rare), Saffron Shrimp with Raspberry BBQ Sauce (great saffron flavor!).Chez Hay are very easy to work with and Wendy has impeccable customer service skills. I would recommend Chez Hay to anyone that is looking to cater any type of event, but especially a wedding or high-end celebration.

Their food has never been spectacular at the several University events I have attended that they catered. The chicken is so dry I never finish it and the sides are nothing spectacular. I ate so that I wouldn't be starved, but I have always been disappointed. Service is good, but the quality of food is not worth the cost per person.I have had much tastier and friendlier service from other caterers in Lincoln. You should definitely look into them first.

We had my younger brother's rehearsal dinner here last summer. It was a big night for our family with lots of out-of-town guests and last minute details. Our head count shifted throughout the day, the florist had a near disaster, my table decorations almost totally failed, but no matter how chaotic things got, the staff at Chez Hay was accommodating and gracious. I think we ended up with 80 people that night and everything went off without a hitch. The food was really really tasty and the space itself was perfect---not too loud and spacious enough that all the little kids could run around without being in the way. Thank you so so much for helping make our family's big night so perfect!

We had our wedding at Chez Hay on April 2nd 2016. (Sorry Starr for my late review! I feel awful! You did an amazing job, I am just the post wedding procrastinator here, lol!) Chez Hay is a beautiful place for a wedding! The large windows and exposed brick creates a warm atmosphere. Starr is the best to work with! Starr, you ROCK and have a great business going on there :) The food is OUTSTANDING! Our guests made so many compliments on how the food was so delicious!! Starr you helped us so much and made our wedding AMAZING, just what we imagined! Thank You Starr! And Thank You to all the Chez Hay workers! :)

A year and half later and everyone is still ranting and raving about the food at my reception. It was absolutely wonderful! The space was beautiful, I love the lighting and the brick walls. There were some small details I would have changed the night of my wedding, but not enough to affect my rating.

I went to my nephew's wedding and I was not impressed. The food was awful. The chicken was dry and the potatoes were cold. The bathrooms we GROSS!! It looked like they weren't clean in weeks. The whole way the handled the wedding events were bad. They cut the cake in the corner near the bar, and no one saw it being done. I know I am from NY and the way we have weddings are much different, but even for Nebraska standards. it was horrible. Watered down drinks, which we paid for. Open bar was not offered. The staff seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. Thank God the DJ was decent and he saved the wedding. Would never go their again.
