Cedar Court Motel

First off the lady that checked us in was nice. It can be a bit confusing where to go because the motel office building and the Mexican restaurant are sort of combined. One entrance door, but then it veers off to 2 more separate entrance doors to each establishment. I never went to it due to several circumstances, but they have a "grab and go" type breakfast. It was explained to me that it's not a continental breakfast, but just fruit, yogurt, coffee, and juice. Got there relatively late due to various reasons and it had been a very day!After unloading everything, I noticed the nightstand between the 2 beds was dirty/sticky. I wasn't the least bit impressed, but thought things happen. Next I went to put stuff in the refrigerator only to find a small pint of ice cream in the freezer part. I probably should have just called the manager at that point because from my experience it only goes from bad to worse usually. I took a shower and then went to get in bed, but the sheets were DIRTY! The bottom sheets had multiple stains on them and I also found dried food on the pillowcases. I called the manager on duty, which was around midnight by that time. She said I'll switch your rooms. I had to go back down to the main entrance to get the new set of keys, which it would have been nice for them to be delivered considering I had to gather up everything. Before I could even leave the room (within 5 minutes from calling) the front desk called to ask me if I was coming up there? Well dang I just got out of the shower, so I needed time to put some clothes on and drive down to the office!!! So, we had to move all of our stuff to a different room in the middle of the night after a LONG day! Last thing I wanted to do! We get to the next room and find some type of bug on the bathroom floor, it got smashed. The bed was as hard as a rock with a dip in the middle, enough said! Pillows were flat as pancakes! It's like this motel is the gift that keeps on giving and not in a good way! After all that happened I decided upon checkout I would talk to the person in charge, which happened to be the same person that gave me the key in the middle of the night. She apologized and said it's just difficult to find help because nobody wants to work. I don't see how this should be my problem? I paid (almost $100.00) for a room/service in good faith, but yet due to several circumstances that failed expectations. I was also questioned why I was just getting any that late? Never knew I had a curfew, so that didn't go over well with me!!!! I would not recommend this place!!!

Wonderful motel! Though you might be disappointed because there are limited options in clay center, my stay was the best. My room was always clean, the breakfast was nice (for a continental breakfast), and best of all, the people who operate the motel were so nice to me. My room was the same price I was quoted when I booked my reservation a couple months prior, and everything was overall fantastic. I'd recommend staying here if in clay center! It's not the fanciest place ever, but it fit my needs, was clean, and was well-priced.

I needed to be in the area for work and the nearest chain hotels were about 30 miles away. This place was a pleasant surprise. They had 3 levels of rooms all of which were fairly affordable. I took the mid tier and had a minifridge and king bed. The internet was extremely fast. My only complaint is lack of electrical outlets for my gadget charging needs.
