Cappy's Hot Spot Bar & Grill

When I walked in here with my boyfriend I wasn't sure what to expect of their wings. We came here specifically for the wings so I was eager to try them out. I'm still fairly new to anything in Lincoln despite living in Nebraska for a little over a decade! He told me he's come here several times before and that their wings were pretty good. We were both hungry and knew we had a lot ahead of us so we wanted to eat a hearty meal that was tasty!We chose our sauces and waited patiently for the tray of wings! Boy, did they deliver! Our waitress came by with the a huge tray of our 40 wings, fries, tots, and some ranch. My mouth immediately dropped open without even realizing it. Our waitress chuckled as I gathered my mouth and took not only the wonderful drool inducing smells but also how large the wings were! They were delicious! We also had an ample amount of napkins as well. I loved both sauces that we ordered and actually look forward to stopping by for wings again should we ever be in town again. This linner was perfect for what we needed it to be. The bathrooms were clean as well. I have a feeling I'd only come here for the wings, but I'm fine with that!

Came to Cappy's for 16 years while our kids went to college at UNL, it was always favorite cheeseburgers and wings to die for! We returned on a visit to as good as ever! The bar itself is large and cozy at the same time, like that perfect dive bar, only clean and spacious....perfect! amazing as always, and our waitress Laura was fantastic!, friendly and responsive!

Chill atmosphere, excellent drinks, and challenging trivia night is what brought us to Cappy's. This bar came highly recommended by our hotel staff. This place was lively, casual, with friendly staff. This is just like every sports bar complete with TVs tuned to sports, multiple pool tables, and music. The menu is the standard bar food. The drink menu had some creative names for each special concoction. Reading them out loud gave us a good chuckle. I had the Baewatch which is Captain Morgan, cranberry juice, and pineapple juice. This drink is quite sweet and powerful and I ended up ordering 2 more rounds. I also ordered some garlic bread sticks as appetizers. I was determined to try the chicken wings and various sauces. I decided on half order with apricot bourbon glaze and the other half with honey garlic. The wings were still tender and juicy. The apricot bourbon glaze had some sweetness and the honey garlic had some heat.Trivia was both challenging and immensely entertaining. The questions were randomized and kept us on our toes. Overall, this is a great spot to unwind and enjoy some chicken wings while trying to name trivia songs from the 80s.

I would normally give this place a 10 out of 5 stars. Must be a new cook. Only reason why I haven't left is because this is the first time it's ever happened. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger hamburger was supposed to be done there was more pink then done. Now the good is this is the FIRST TIME ITS EVER HAPPENED!!!! Update on new food coming out Ok never mind so it's Not a new cook now the burger is burnt I paid extra for a cooked onions 2nd time there not cooked no lettuce or tomato on this one. Cheese isn't even melted. Asked if the cook was new they said no. So now I'm giving negative stars. This is bullshit. Sorry I paid for service and good food.

I ordered to go. It's a chill, open space sports bar. I ordered grilled wings - spicy garlic parm. I definitely like that they offered grilled - and they actually were grilled! Woo! The sauce was good too, I just wish they added a bit more. They give you a big ranch (or blue cheese) with your order.

Well it's about time I reviewed this place. My friends and I have been making this our weekly haunt every Wednesday for their trivia night.It's a little sportsbar in a random area. The location seemed a bit shady to me at first but over the months of coming here I barely notice anymore, I usually am just focusing on the delicious wings in my future.The inside is huge. A big bar, pool table room, an eating area with flat screens and a stage, and more seating in another room. They do trivia every Wednesday and the prizes are great and it's an awesome time. They have other events other nights of the week and lots of specials.The service has really impressed me. I wouldn't have expected it in a sportsbar, but the first night we went I called ahead and asked about gluten free. They gave me a cell phone number and who did I get? Well cappy himself of course! He let me know he's actually in the process of revamping his menu to labels for gluten free, but until then the serving staff would be able to help me. Some individuals in the kitchen have had training in gluten free and between them and the amazingly helpful servers I had a pretty great list.I get their chicken jalapeño nachos and naked wings with the honey garlic sauce..omg guys.. These wings.. These nachos.. An addiction has formed. Price is always ridiculously affordable and as I've said service is stellar, the girls always remember my order and that I'm gf. As good ol shady corner sportsbars come, this is 5 star one.

I have a long history with Cappys dating back to Karaoke and beer pong days. As of late it is our weekly haunt for awesome trivia on either Wednesday or Thursday with Dan. It's awesome that they give away legit gift cards for prizes not only for first to third place but also for getting a perfect round. Some takeaways--The wings are amazing and probably some of the best priced in town, at their normal menu price!! TONS of sauces you could try and hardly an up charge to make them grilled. Spicy garlic and xxx hot are the best. Just do it. In general the food is pretty good no matter what you get. Our clan gets burgers, appetizers, pizza, and nachos and I haven't heard much complaint. Food prices are pretty reasonable and the taco specials on Thursday are great. Get the fried tacos!! Most of the time it's a pleasant experience on Wednesday but service on Thursday needs major improvement which is why I cannot give a five. Twice now they've screwed up or attempted to screw up our tabs. I understand being busier some issues will arise but it's becoming a pattern. We wait for salsa and sauce for our tacos to the point where I'm just going to give up and eat it without or hunt it down myself. One week I started a tab at the bar and then there was some confusion in locating my card by both our server and the bartender. I was repeatedly asked if the card was given back to me despite telling them they had it, as if I was the one that had lost it. After it was located, I had an extra pitcher of beer on my tab. My friends had left and the server said it was theirs, so I paid for it. Turns out they were also charged for their pitcher so we were definitely double charged. Another week our server acted like we still owed them a $1 something even though the receipt was showing the card was charged and the amount was paid in full. This ended up being a glitch in their system for salsa that we never received but it shouldn't have been presented to us that we still owed them a measly $1 and argued about as though we still needed to pay this. Wednesday is definitely better!! Our server is great and is starting to know our drinks orders and there have been no issues with our tab.

Do not go here!!! They pick and chose who they serve and if you ask for a drink you just might get thrown out of the bar like we did tonight! The bushy bearded guy behind the bar is a joke. My husband tried helping a guy beside us get served..He wanted an IPA and they wouldn't give him the time of day. Sad way to run a business.

This is my kind of place! Includes a large seating area, a great bar space and various square feet of pool play, darts and KENO! Paired with the large menu, the fantastic food and great atmosphere; I would definitely eat here more often...if I lived closer!

Didn't even get to sit down. Was turned away for having minor after 9 it was 8:30 very disappointed.
