We had the steak prix fixe complete with asparagus and mashed potatoes from J Gilbert's.The steak melted in your mouth. I enjoyed Prosecco with a splash of Elderflower liquer and hubby enjoyed The Fairy Nectar IPA. Dessert was a sumptuous chocolate cake very rich and smooth. There were two shows and the musicians played a 75 minute set that was terrific. Great to see live music again after the long absence.Support your local businesses and get out of your house already!!!"

However, it's evolved and changed just as much as I have!We came yesterday, two adults, for my birthday. Despite not having my children along to draw out ever minute at every attraction, we ended up spending a few hours here. The expansion in just a couple years, is wildly impressive. There a whole new area behind the pig races. Including 4 rides! (And for adults a cider silo)We thorough enjoyed our day here, so many free attractions, and with minimal lines. It's so nostalgic to see things from my childhood, as well as appreciate things as an adult. not to mention the staff could not have been more friendly. They gave me a birthday button, and it was such a special day. We will return with the kids but note it's a small fortune to attend on a weekend."

When they say they produce "epic event experiences" they are not kidding - this was a fantastic party! So much thought went into the planning and detail from the décor to the lighting to the food ... there were various Beatles buttons on the tables, drink coasters with song titles, 3 kinds of cake, a bar, charcuterie board, little meat sliders, cardboard cutouts for photo ops, a "phone" to record a message - the list goes on and on. Even the bathroom was decorated and playing Beatles music. The McGuigan Brothers even showed up to play about 90 minutes of Beatles covers (a la their well known Interactive Beatles experience show). The birthday girl had a blast as did her family and friends. Many of us hadn't seen each other in the past couple years and several people even flew into town for the party. This was a great place to host this type of event. I was dropping hints to my spouse that a Bowie themed gathering would be pretty cool someday!!"

Being on the second floor, there are nice views of the street life below. The wedding I attended was pretty intimate, with about 40 guests. Chez Hay's space was perfect for a group this size. The staff set up and broke down the space with ease, transforming it from wedding chapel to buffet to dance floor, all the while the bartender kept the drinks flowing. The food itself was great -- spinach salad, potatoes, green beans, and mixed vegetable with tofu -- all vegan. For the meat eaters, there was a roast and turkey breast to chomp on as an entree. All in all, I really enjoyed my time at Chez Hay. The party was supposed to go on till 8:00 and by 6:30 the staff was literally taking the water out of our hands so they could clean up and go home early. The food was done by their preferred vendor......the pasta was cold and still hard, the breadsticks were stale, and the sauce was obviously watered down. Not impressed. There were many other issues throughout the night and all because the staff was at best sub par. In fact on a 15 dollar bar tab I was given 5 dollars back after handing them a 50 dollar bill. They said, "sorry, we're not used to that." After speaking with the child's mother, there were a lot of other issues with the venue including the staff still setting up after the party was supposed to have started. Rachel P. "When I started looking for venues I knew I wanted it to be a barn, away from the noise and light pollution of the city, as well as a bathroom in the bridal suite. After looking at 10+ barns, Wishing Hills Barn stood out far beyond any of the other options within 50 miles. I was very impressed at how well the staff worked with our other vendors. They always responded to my emails and phone calls promptly. I would also note that they did not have any hidden fees. They were very upfront and I always felt that they were honest about their prices. The co-owners were professional, but also friendly. They listened and always made me feel heard and supported. There are 2 things I would note though. First, the acoustics in the barn are not ideal (especially if you have 200+ guests like we did). This might be something your DJ or band can address, but should be taken into consideration. Second, minus the first few rows, the venue prefers to use benches instead of chairs outside for your guests. If you have an older crowd this may not be comfortable or convenient for them. All-in-all, I have no regrets. My wedding was everything I hoped for and more. I truly believe this venue was a big part of that."

Not only was the food delicious, the atmosphere nice and cozy, and the service staff attentive, but Dawn, the wedding coordinator, was absolutely amazing. She single handedley saved me from a bridal meltdown the day before the wedding. The Friday before the wedding, I showed up at the Field Club with about 75% of my decorations ready and my ideas totally scattered. I spent months and months online searching for the perfect tabletop and the best lighting, but the day before the reception, I was stressed beyond belief and I no longer cared if my tabletops matched my theme or not. However, Dawn listened to my rambling and told me not to worry about a thing. She double-checked to see if I had eaten that day, and sent me off on my way feeling so much better about everything. Two hours later, I realized I had forgotten to create several important name cards and I sent her a quick email. She responded back that it wasn't a problem at all and she'd create something for them. When I showed up at the reception, I was amazed at what she had done to the room! She had totally transformed it! I later found out that she and her husband had sliced over 120 wine corks for me the night before the wedding! How is that for customer service?!?! If you're planning any sort of event, Dawn will totally take care of you! The room itself is beautiful (I also rented the Swing Room- it was perfect for all the Husker fans that wanted to sneak quick peaks of the game through out the night) and the outside deck is perfect if the weather is nice! All in all, highly recommended!!"

But if you sit on the second floor balcony, (Loge), you may not be able to see the top of the stage. My wife and I sat in center Loge, first row and we were unable to see the dragon at the top of the stage. If there was something actually going on at the top of the stage and we weren't able to see it, ($90 a ticket), I would have asked to be seated somewhere else.Overall, the experience at the Orpheum is always great. Everything is so fresh and spot on every single time! A few other tidbits...When you dine-in they give you complimentary green tea which is nice. The fried rice is way better than the white. They have 2 menus: the first is the "American" Chinese menu on your table and the other "more authentic" one you have to ask for (basically their secret menu). Natalie E. "I attended a wedding and reception at Country Pines recently. Overall the experience there was OK, but the venue could have done more to make the experience better for guests.First of all, the reception space is nicely laid out, but for an outside venue they really ought to have more fans. On a hot, humid day, it got pretty uncomfortable. The fans they do have do not move, I asked. So if you're able to choose your summer reception seat, sit directly in front of the breeze! The grounds are very pretty, and well-maintained. The wedding ceremony area was pretty too, with barn doors that open and close as the bride comes down the aisle. The aisle itself is made of very uneven cobblestone, which was bothersome. Cobblestone is quaint but difficult to walk on in heels. They really should have leveled the ground where they were going to put the brick/cobblestone --this would help guests more easily walk on it. We also had some elderly family members that struggled. The serving staff was quite attentive. Rarely an an empty plate or glass sit on a table for more than a few minutes. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. I realize that the bride and groom made the food choices, but don't offer something if it isn't tasty. The teriyaki chicken chunks were dry inside and the sauce tasted like what you would get in a frozen entrée packet. The pulled pork was drowned in sauce to cover up the fact that it was dry and stringy. The steamed vegetables were flavorless. The iced tea was very watered-down. The best tasting thing was the corn casserole, but it is sort of inherently bland so at least that tasted like it was supposed to! I know that wedding food being bad is a cliché, but this is some of the worst catered food I've had."

We even had confirmed it in text message, the exact date. When we went to pay for the venue the guy wouldn't answer our calls or get back to us. When he did he told us he already had someone else booked that day and swears we told him a different weekend. This guy has done this multiple times from what I've heard from people. Usually that's by some snaggletooth woman. I didn't have a great time here, but if I need something to drink this is an easy spot on the way home. You can usually find a few bar Hags. On occasion there's a dead body in the back alley by the dumpster, however that was a long time ago. Using text-to-speech or speech to text on the phone is not very good , much like the bar.
