"This is a charming little shop in the historic Flatiron building.Lots of toys here for creative play. Nature-themed and wooden toys and puzzles are immediately noticeable. There are also a lot of sensory toys, costumes, and books. Staff there were really nice. Be sure to sign up for their rewards program, it's generous.I definitely will be returning here if I need to buy any toys. It's calm and relaxing, no battery-operated toys that I could see or hear.I bought an adorable container of dough with capybara figures in it. My daughter's boyfriend loves capybaras and he was absolutely delighted with it. I bought it as a gift for his 21st birthday."

"Super cool store, especially if you're into toys and video games. While the store is pretty small, it's stocked with all kinds of things likely to take you back to your childhood. Original TMNT figures? He-Man? Star Wars? Star Trek? Other weird little toys you forgot about? They have it all at pretty reasonable prices.On the video game side, they have a nice selection of games from the 80s and 90s. If you have a lot of old games at your house and don't want to mess with eBay, bring 'em here and sell 'em.There are also a few arcade consoles that are free to play, including Super Mario World, Super Contra and Tekken 2. Flippin' sweet!I also see this as a great spot to grab some nostalgic goodies for events or just finding odd, goofy presents that will for sure make your friends smile."

"It's great to see a new comic book store in town that has all of the comics I'm looking for weekly. Even if they don't have what you want they'll special order anything for ya. They also have other random specialty nerd culture items like posters, pop figures, statues, collectible cards, etc. The space is new(er) and they do a great job of organizing, so it's easier to find what you're looking for. The staff is friendly and willing to discuss comic culture in real conversation, which is always something to look forward to when walking through the door. They also have special events like Harley Quinn day and find interesting ways to celebrate the store, comic book fans, and their customers. I would suggest following them on FB to keep up with their events. This place is A+, they go the extra mile and you can tell they legitimately love what they're doing. It's much more than a comic book store."

"Think Hot Topic, but less focused on punk, alternative, or anime and cartoon stuff, and more brainy and witty and sophisticated. City limits has the air of class clown meets cynically witty sassy girl.This wonderful shop hosts gadgets and gizmos a plenty. Here you'll find stationary, unique (and belligerent) cards, Hundred of coffee table books, funky toys for adults, bacon lipgloss, and tons of parody type useless but funny gifts. If you're in a rut for an idea to give a gift to someone, you'll probably find something here as long as they have any sense of humor.A fun browse in the Old Market."

They provide a wide range of baby, toddler and children's clothing items, as well as uniquely selected toys and baby items perfect for your little ones. Everything we've seen and purchased so far has been the highest quality. You definitely get what you pay for when shopping local. The owner used to be an educator herself and is super friendly. She'll happily help you find what you need. This is definitely a hidden gem worth a visit!"

"Barbara made my 5yr old's birthday the best day ever! We went there looking for a certain animal that my daughter had picked out a couple of months ago. She had been asking for it for her birthday since the day she saw it. We walked in and didn't see it anywhere. My daughter was crushed. Barbara could tell that my daughter had her heart set on this particular animal and immediately went on a mission. She left the store a couple of times and came back with THE animal. It was already stuffed and dressed and on a pedestal (I'm guessing it was one of the display animals when they had them in stock). She quickly rushed to the back room without my daughter noticing and undressed and unstuffed it. She came back out moments later to show my daughter that she had found one. My daughter's face lit up and her birthday wish came true. Thank you so so much, Barbara. Your act of kindness and compassion was more appreciated than you will ever know!!!"

"Love this place. Has lots of unique baby items I'd normally order off the Internet because most stores don't carry these items. The staff is always so nice an helpful. When I went to upgrade carseats, they even let me take the floor model out to the car to see how it'd fit. Only down one star because of the higher cost. Ordering off Internet would be cheaper but this is local and I get what I want right away instead of waiting for it to ship."

If you're at all into comics, board games, card games, role-players, toys, figurines, vintage pop culture, etc., etc.--then Krypton is a must visit.True story: One time my silly insurance agent dropped a check I wrote for like $1k in the parking lot in front of Krypton. Someone at Krypton found it, called me concerned because they found a check I wrote for $1k lying on the ground. They soon got it right back to my silly insurance guy next door. That right there is a 5-star experience from the crew at Krypton.Krypton rules. Might need a new insurance guy, though, ha."

They have the most in-trend toys including Tonies, Catan, etc. We also were able to attend their Wine Night - which they were open till 9pm. We got entered into drawings and got free posters, free wine, and snacks!"

"Independent book stores come in two varieties. One is a cluttered mess with dusty secondhand books stuffed on shelves, stacked on floors, and shoved anywhere else the staff can find. The other is clean and well-organized with a focus on new books and releases. While both types of stores are great, The Bookworm definitely falls into the latter.I had a few minutes to spare before an event at a nearby business, so I popped in to check out The Bookworm's newish digs. The store is really nice. There were laid-back English-major types working. The selection spanned from new pop culture releases to lit classics to throwaway fiction paperbacks. Even a few comics in the humor section. You'll also find greeting cards and other small gifts as well as a couple spots where you can pull up a seat and read.All-in-all a great book store. "Long time customer that has never been in any of their stores. My purchases have been limited to web purchasing solely. Due to having a similar address with a Chicago public school, I tend to receive some of the catalogs meant for teachers. That's how I came across them in the beginning. The marketing and analytics of their products is what caught my eye. It's a different approach to buying. Online, a customer can view based on the age and gender of the child. The site offers line and bar graphs indicating the ages most appropriate for the toy and those (reported by users) that enjoy the item most. Toys aren't necessarily designated to any one gender since they host analytics for both. Then, one can surf reviews for a better feel of the product. This has helped sway my purchasing towards products of educational or modeling capacity.For instance I have a 3 year old niece that behaves like Bam Bam from the Flinstones. With that said, she likes toys she can "roughhouse" with. Surfing reviews I can get a feel of how other kids are using them and get some useful info that will help in my decision making.So far, item pricing, shipping and receiving has gone smoothly. "Once a newsprint catalog that rolled into my boyhood home bringing all the novelty crapola that made the 70s so charming, Oriental Trading made paper cocktail umbrellas and Chinese handcuffs must have lifestyle accoutrements.Fast forward four decades or so and a search for mass quantities of cheap plastic Easter eggs led me to the modern digital incarnation of the OT, a company that I had long thought defunct.They had the eggs and... the umbrellas and handcuffs were just where I left them forever etched in cheese-laden posterity. Only now, much to my surprise, this tribute to novelty obsolescence is owned by Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway. Who knew there was such profit lurking under their mountains of disposable junk? The eggs came... pronto I might add but I couldn't bear to order the wax teeth and the instant sea monkeys... just add water. Four stars for just being true to themselves. Truth be told I just might go back for the sea monkeys."
