But when I have friends in town or another excuse to get out of the house, this is a place I really like to visit. Don't be deceived by the less than enticing strip mall location, this is a great spot with a fun ambience. If you've only seen it as you're zipping by on Van Dorn, make a point to stop in sometime."

Jessica F. "I'm not a beer fan, so it's great that they also have a distillery! Sometimes I feel left out at places because I don't like beer but not here! I had a drink that I'm pretty sure was called Bouquet of Newly Sharpened Pencils (wack name lol) that was DELICIOUS! It's a White Russian with a choice of Cut Spike flavored vodka. I tried the drink with peanut butter and the second time with Salted Caramel. GET THE PEANUT BUTTER!! It was heaven in a cup! The salted caramel was good but tasted pretty much just like a normal White Russian in my opinion. This place is pretty big and has a big room for private parties. My friends band was playing when I went so that made for a really fun time! The waitstaff was good but could have been a smidge friendlier (not that they were mean at all, they just could've smiled a bit more)."

I really liked the Triple Action Mango IPA! For food we did a few appetizers, the ravioli and cheese balls. The cheese balls were probably the best I've ever had! The ravioli was also great. If you are around the area, check this place out! They have a sweet staff and a great patio when the weather is nice. It was really busy when we went so service was a little slower than we would have liked but with being new that is expected! I think this place has so much potential, can't wait to come back!"

The Stout was as expected, rich, deep flavor yet smooth and delicious! The Bahama llama was unexpectedly delicious as well. It's a seltzer smoothie style beer infused with pineapple, coconut and it essentially taste like a fizzy piña colada. Really fun drink! It kinda looks like a sports bar/microbrewery/art gallery that you are quite surprised would be in Syracuse Nebraska! Unfortunately I didn't take any pics because my phone was dead (they let me charge it behind the bar) but I can tell you that the margarita pizza, the grilled Italian panini, the pressed lemon ricotta appetizer and all the beers were fantastic. They have plenty of tv's and a bunch of seating and if you are so inclined, you can spend $8000 on a canvas painting of Elton John!! I will be back!!"

Being that it was a release party, the place was pretty crowded but the staff was excellent and the beer list is (as expected) very extensive. I only had the Bull Market on the day we went, but would gladly stop back and do the flights or have a few beers before a Maverick sporting event. The tap room is inviting and would be pretty spacious on a normal evening. Although they don't serve food, others have mentioned that you can bring food in and there are several restaurants nearby. Also, in the past I've tried several Kinkaider products from stores or on tap at other restaurants, so I wanted to add that briefly here. many people have mentioned Winter Beast which is a good one, and my wife and I tried snozzberry sour many years ago and have continued to buy it from time to time. It's pricey, but I love the sour taste!"

It's a solid microbrewery in the Haymarket District that houses an impressive 17 craft beer selections. The beertender, Tiffany, helped recommend some popular choices for my flight. I really liked the spicy notes in the Devil's Gap Jalapeño ale, it was surprisingly addicting. I was tempted to order another, but the Snow Beast Winter Ale was the winner for me. It had a nice hoppy spice and subtle toasted malt flavor. To top it off, I received 25% off my t-shirt since it was "Merchandise Monday". It was a great start to my week in Nebraska, I left the brewery as a Kinkaider fan!Overall: Friendly staff with fun/interesting craft beers at reasonable prices. Worth it? KaiXi Z. "I really hate to give this place and our experience a 2-star review, but the lack of service, blatant disrespect, anti-social vibe, and overpriced bar snacks really made our sour beer afternoon adventure into an overall "sour" experience. We had gone in as part of a Yelp Elite event. The check-in offer did not mention having to buy one and then get your second beer free. The email from the community manager even reminded us to not forget cash to tip the bartender. Why would that have even been stated if the expectation was to have to open a bar tab anyways? Not a huge deal--we had already discussed and planned to stick around for at least a couple or a few beers. Our bartender--maybe Bryan? I can't confirm since he didn't offer his name and I didn't ask--was not a warm, friendly bartender, he didn't not attempt to have any conversation with us or other patrons sitting at the bar, and he did not create a very welcoming environment. Had I known this, I would have much rather sat by the entrance and weathered the cold air instead of his cold demeanor. I tried to ask him about the beer we had ordered, and instead of acknowledging/answering my question, asking me to hold on, or even circling back later, he completely ignored me. I'd have asked a second time because one could reasonably expect that to have been due to him not hearing me--had I not seen him flinch and look in my direction out of the corner of his eye. We also asked him if he had snacks available--I briefly forgot our community manager mentioned there being cheez-its for the Yelp event--but our bartender didn't even mention them. Instead he offered me some nuts in a canister and a bag, without any listing of price, quantity, etc., that totaled up to over $15 between the one canister and one bag!We were really hoping to have a good experience because my +1 guest who came with me loves Kros Strain, frequents their La Vista location frequently (1x per week, minimum), and lives just 1/2 a mile away. However, he even left the downtown location extremely disappointed and stated he would not being going back. It should go without saying, I won't be back to this location either--the only reason I gave today a 2-star rating was because at least the beer was good. The beer was not good enough, however, for us to even stay for our free beers.Overall, not a pleasant experience."

Monolithic Brewing

Terry O. "Walking into Monolithic, I expected to see an actual monolith in some form, but sadly there was none. One of the owners, a very personable man who clearly loves what he's doing, said one of his partners was a fan of the movie Space Odyssey and the name was sort of derived from that. Going by the definition: monolithic are single, unified applications, it kind of fits with the brewery effort to produce an excellent product. We really enjoyed our beer, but the whole experience fell a bit short. The space was very industrial and therefore noisy, which made conversation difficult. I did like the step-up upholstered banquette seating. It was very comfortable, probably more so than the ladder back chairs at the tables. The bar staff were inattentive once our initial beer was served. Maybe they hadn't realized we were also getting food. I had a plain hamburger, which was a mistake on my part because plain truly meant plain. I hadn't realized how much the flavor of a burger relies on the accompaniments. The monolithic shandy I ordered was very refreshing and perfect. Big bro liked his Bob's burger with bacon, sauce, and cheese. He ordered neoteric haze, which he really liked. Both burgers were served with a small bag of chips. We also had a basket of ordinary corn chips accompanied by a tiny cup of bland salsa. The menu indicated that there were vegan options(veg*), but I only saw one--the pretzel--probably plain with no cheese sauce. The focus is naturally on the brews, but the bar food menu needs a bit of finesse. Maybe if the ambiance was cozier, we would have stayed longer and sampled more brews. By all means stop in if you are a beer aficionado."

However, it is absolutely worth it for two amazing things: Salted Caramel Wings and Peanut Butter Burger. They overall have decent food (including their amazing pretzels) but even if you don't like any of the other items, both the wings and the PB Burger are worth the 30 minute drive. The service is also incredibly friendly too. They do offer small 5oz glasses for those unsure of what beer to try. I'd say the only "low" point is their indoor space as it can get pretty loud with just a few groups but even then, it's festive during games and pleasant when going out with friends."

Lianna N. "On my most recent trip to Nebraska Brewing Company I was able to take the tour of the facility. They offer tours once or twice a week led by staff members, so you can see the process in which beer is made here. Perhaps I just haven't paid much attention but I don't notice Nebraska brewing company's beers at a lot of local restaurants that I dine and drink at. One of the things the owner said during the tour was that they are focused a little bit more on distribution side of the business so they are more popular outside of the state than within our own state. This makes a lot of sense as to why I don't see it often when I'm out and about in Omaha. Now that I've had a chance to try about 5 to 6 of their beers I definitely want more. The melange a trois and the brunette nut brown were really stellar, but I did enjoy a bunch of the others too. Since the restaurant brewery location in Papillion is a bit far for me as well as this brewing facility in LaVista, it's not a place I go very often but I know when I do I'm going to stock up on some of my favorites! They were probably one of the first pioneers of craft beers in Omaha, I would say they're pretty heavy contenders with many of the local favorites. If they ever switch gears and wanted to be more in restaurants and local eateries (as opposed to being more of a distributor) should probably open a location more "in-town" like other small craft brewers have done. I think they would do well."

I loved the Vienna, it tasted like the perfect fall beer, so I'll have to come back in a couple months for that one. The chili one was so good too, not a lot of spice to it, but the flavor was like a fresh green pepper. Yum!! They don't have food there, but they have menus for the pizza place next door and the phone number listed on the menu for easy ordering. We had the carnitas pizza and it was 100/10. I had a flight of their beers, their IPA, Oktoberfest, Spiced Pumpkin and their Porter. The Porter and IPA were both above average, the Porter was actually very good!
