Burger Detour

Actual food; these fresh pressed burger patties were not frozen and sourced locally. Choice of waffle, shoestring or crinkle fries. The lightly breaded chicken bites were delicious. The team was friendly and conversational with the service. The drive through and the door dash pick ups were steady. We dined in a super clean facility and enjoyed a well-cooked dinner. Parking lot right outside the door.

The wife and I were so excited when we heard that a new burger place was being build on Maple Street, being that I am a transplanted Californian, I am always looking for a burger place that can help me forget my In-N-Out childhood, but I have yet to find one that can do that ... may never find one, but the search is on.When the Burger Detour was completed, we decided to give it a go, choosing to walk in, which was pretty nice for a fast food burger joint ... there were TVs with sports on, the seating was adequate, and the ambiance, well, it was a lot like any other fast food establishment. I ordered a Double combo for me, and a single combo for my wife, along with two vanilla shakes. The place was kinda busy, since it was new, but we got our food fairly quickly. I was pleasantly surprised by two things .... first, the fries were a combo of straight, crinkle and waffles, so that was interesting. Second, the burger was hot, juicy, looked delicious, and actually had good flavor. I thought I had finally found a decent burger joint in Omaha! UNTIL OUR NEXT VISIT. On our second visit, which was a few months after our first, when we got our burger combos they were dry, cold, and lacking the attention to detail that we saw on the first visit. The Frix (combo fries) were also cold, and sparce in the fries container. We chocked it up to it being close to a dinner rush.Visit number three, was in the middle of the afternoon, with no one else ordering .... and the food was very close to what we got in visit number 2. Sparce fries, lackadaisically assembled burger, over cooked and dry, crappy toppings ... just poorly constructed burgers of subpar quality.I am the kind of person that gives a restaurant 3 tries .... not sure I will give Burger Detour another chance, since they have only performed well when they were new, and trying to get a customer base. Time will tell if I ever try them again, but if I do, I really hope they have figured it out, the burgers aren't cheap and getting an inferior burger after paying a pretty penny for it does not sit well with me.

Absolutely terrible! Not sure how one can ruin a burger but they did. Don't waste your money!!

First time trying burger detour. Wasn't really sure what to expect and didn't have really any expectations going in. I always find it exciting when West Omaha gets a new restaurant. They have both a drive-through and small dining area. The things that we got that were good... were really good! And then the rest was a little different. I really enjoyed their fries, this was something I thought that was really cool as they have three different kinds of fries. Waffle fries, Crinkle cut, and shoe string all in one mix. Something that I thought was definitely unique, and you got a large quantity. The other thing that I liked was their homemade ranch and detour sauce.Other than that, the rest, I wasn't the biggest fan of. I ordered a chocolate malt. It was made with soft serve, but just missed the mark for me. The burger bun for me was unfortunately a huge miss, I actually picked my burger off the bun to finish it. It was really sweet, kind of honey like, and had an unusual texture where it was falling apart. The staff was great, they greeted us immediately when we walked in and were overall very polite and quick. Would come back to try other things on their menu but was a little disappointed overall.

I liked this place, I reminded me of a cross between 5 guys and a good bar burger. First off, the place was immaculately clean, and the people working there were extremely nice. I ordered a double cheeseburger with their sauce on it, and my wife had the fired chicken nuggets, and we both had fries, which, by the way are awesome. They mix regular, crinkle, and waffle fries and give you a huge portion. The burger was good, the sauce was nothing special, but didn't hurt the taste by any means, I would definitely order it again. It was expensive, like 5 guys level, but the portions were big and it's 2024, so everything is expensive, right? I would go back and get the same thing, or the chicken nuggets, which were also good. You could probably save money by splitting an order of fries, one order is definitely enough for two

I read past Yelp reviews on Burger Detour before making up my mind to finally visit here. While looking over the menu, the chili was a selected side dish to the cheeseburger. As past Yelpers claimed, the cheeseburger was 'okay' and didn't deliver a flavor punch to the taste buds. However, the chili actually did. I did add a spoonful of sour cream and sprinkled the shredded cheese. There is a slight bite to the mixture which was pleasing to the taste buds. The criss cross fries were also very good. They are very generous with the serving size. Overall, the cheeseburger didn't win me over but definitely the chili did. I don't know if I would be a frequent patron but it does provide a choice besides the other fast food places.

I ordered a cheeseburger with no pickles and added their detour sauce, their frix, and a coke. Overall I would say this place was pretty good! Definitely left me hanging a little bit but there were great highlights!The burger had the softest, sweetest buns which were so good, but it didn't really taste like I was eating a burger. Didn't taste the sauce or any char on the patty. It was also pretty messy with the shredded lettuce.The frix were pretty great! It's their mixture of shoestring fries, crinkle cut fries, and waffles fries. The potatoes here are so good! I think my fave was the waffle fry! I grabbed a side of ranch and detour sauce and they both fell flat. Added nothing to the bite of fry. Their detour sauce tasted like a mix of mayo and ketchup, not at all like Cane's sauce or Animal sauce like I've heard. Ranch was disappointing for a burger place so I'll stick with Runza.Went through the drive thru around 6pm and it was super quick which was unexpected. Only issue was they gave me the wrong drink, but that was totally minor! If I return, I would want to try their onion rings, other sauces, and a malt or shake. Not sure if I would go back for a burger though.

I was excited to see a burger detour thinking it would be like the one in old Millard years ago. It totally was not like the original and did not come close to how good the original was. Pretty average here.

I was so excited to have a new Burger Place opening near my house as like everyone else, I Love a Good Burger :). Unfortunately, the location on Maple Street took forever to open and when it did it was the biggest disappointment, I have ever had with a new restaurant. There are only 7 or 8 tables in the eating area making it clear that they want you to give them your money and leave. The prices are outrageous for what you get unless you like cold food and a burger you have to put on the bun yourself once you get it as the one, I received was falling off along with the toppings. Have never returned and would recommend any other Burger Restautant then this one.

I brought my family for the first time to try Burger Detour, they had excellent service and food. Thank you for the good experience!
