We went there on a Friday night for happy hour. Great prices. Smelled a lot like fried food. They were setting up for a band that night. It was pretty bright in there. They have free line dancing on Tuesday evenings. Nice place, but believe it would be more fun later in the evening. Very open, kind of a cold feeling.

Another reviewer's statement that Bogie's is a choose your own adventure type situation is not only hilarious, but also spot on. We arrived on a Saturday night near the end of the Husker game. At that time, the game was on with only the commentating coming through the speakers. A few folks had pulled chairs in the middle of the dance floor to get a better view of the television. The game wraps up and the place transitions into a "dance club" or at least the best a dance club can be in a strip mall in west Omaha in what used to be a Garden Cafe...In fairness, the music and sound system were great and the waitresses were soon walking around with free shots, which there are never any red flags at all about accepting free shots, but when in Rome!

I've lived in this area for years and had never been to Bogies West until recently. The bar tenders were nice enough but, unfortunately, I can't say that I have any desire to go back. It's a dingy, dive bar with, the vast majority of the clientele ranking near/below the rank of "sketchy."Long story short, it's the exact type of bar you'd expect to be a few doors away from a vape shop.

"Diversifying your clientele base"...how I would describe my Friday night experience at Bogie's.Early evening, enter into your typical suburban bar and grill to order a pitcher of beer, an order of wings or pizza and catch the game on TV.It's 7 p.m. so the live band starts up (yes, there's a stage and dance floor), lights dim, mature-set couples occasionally dance, and the place starts to fill up with an all ages crowd of couples grabbing a bite to eat, singles popping in for a beverage and groups looking for a night out.11 p.m., the DJ starts with a mix of 80s revival (think "Push It" by Salt-N-Peppa) followed by the ever-popular tunes that you chair-dance-sing-along with. There are more people continuously arriving, of a younger demographic.Food-wise, say "no" to the nachos comprised of flavorless corn chips, consider the pizza or one of the sandwiches (the Reuben was pretty good) that comes with fries, or even one of those breaded appetizer options like fried mushrooms (which is also what you'd expect). Service is slow as your wait-person might need to pop out for a smoke, be engrossed with her phone, or even make an appearance on the dance floor to her dance on. If you order a side of anything, olives for your beer (yes, that's a thing) or ranch for your fries, expect that 50-cent extra charge for each request which is just a bit annoying when you're regularly tipping 40% on each transaction because we've all been a part of the service industry at some point in our lives. So all of the above ranting-aside, if you decide to go to Bogie's it a choose-your-adventure type of situation. Neighborhood bar-live music venue-dance club...choose one or all based on when you get there and how long you stay. I'm still wrapping my head around it.Only in Omaha.

Here for a band Sun afternoon. Ordered the nachos. The guy next to me ordered a sandwich and salad. After waiting 29 mins and my neighbors sandwich half gone, I checked with the bartender on my order. She smelled so bad of pot it was overwhelming. I was told "it's coming...". The nachos were not as described in the menu. It was supposed to be melted Colby cheese. My order came with runny stadium cheese sauce. There were pools of grease floating on top of the cheese sauce from the taco meat. It was so salty I could not eat it. I pointed this out to one of the waitresses. She just shrugged and walked off. I know it's just nachos but I have had better at the Ralston arena. I then spoke with the owner who was more apologetic. But did nothing. Do not recommend at least for the service and food.

Bogies, you mean bogus! This was the worst dine in experience I have ever had at a bar and grill. We went on a weeknight and it was not terribly crowded, I know why now. Upon arrival, my party and I sat on one end of the building (by the pool table), first mistake. I feel like even though people were sitting near us, our party was neglected. We ordered drinks in the beginning and those came out in a timely manner in the, so that was decent. We had about 3 waitresses throughout a 2 hour span. About 30ish minutes into being there, we informed the waitress of what we wanted to eat (1 order of fries, 1 order of onion string). I've worked in the food industry and for the most part, frying food takes an average of 4-5 minutes, so I understand a little more of a wait due to others in the building. The food took about an hour to come out and it was just the fries. The young lady said the onion strings would be out soon, no big deal. Wrong! About 25 minutes later, fries are gone, the onion strings come out. The waitress tells us that this is all they had left. Upon trying the onion strings, they were doughy and not cooked all the way through...so you're telling me it took over an hour for you to not even cook them.I asked for a drink prior to leaving and informed the waitress of the time frame we would be leaving (about 15 minutes)...the drink came right before we were leaving. I was honestly going to tell her to forget about it. And to top it off, there was a bartender (could have made my drink) behind the bar and eating pizza throughout the whole night. Talk about a health violation. To top it all off, we got out bill. Waitress took another 20 minutes to get change. I was to the point where I would've walked out and not tipped and they would not have noticed. Definitely won't be back and am considering calling the health department.
