Went to see Silent Night Before Christmas and I have to say the production was pretty funny. A parody full of pop culture references, what's not to like. There's a lot of woodwork and dark colors add warmth to the building. And yet, it doesn't take away from the art on display.

I have been trying to see a show at BLUEBARN for forever! I finally got the chance this holiday season. The show was exceptionally funny, the set was super fun and the theatre staff was incredibly kind and patient. The theatre itself is so artsy with pieces on the wall for sale. The atmosphere was so eclectic and fun! They served Saro cider (LOVE), spiked hot coco and an assortment of other beverages before the show and during intermission.

Went to a production called King Lear at Blue Barn for the first time. The aesthetic and atmosphere is AMAZING! There's so much to look at... the bathrooms have lots of mirrors and paint, very clean. Amazing atmosphere... amazing actors!! There's a concession stand with local products, each show has its own signature cocktail they create. Please go if you haven't, it's a great experience!

Finally made it to the new Blue Barn Theatre! We went to see Priscilla Queen of the Desert. We arrived early so were able to snag one of the few seats in the waiting area before they let us into the theater. They had some refreshments for purchase, which you could bring into the theater. It was a hot day out and the waiting area and the theater were nicely cooled. It was a very relaxing environment. No reserved seating, but since we were one of the first to arrive we got first pick on seats. Theater style seating with cushy comfy chairs. I also liked that there was room between the rows for people to get in and out of seats without having to make everyone stand up to make room for them. The show itself I thought was very good. This isn't NYC, so for what they have to work with it was well put together and entertaining! I'm sure I'll be back to see something else in the future!

We've attended a couple Blue Barn shows in the past, but this year decided to purchase season tickets. The space is old market classic - but the new building will be even better (i.e. more restrooms perhaps). Tickets aren't too expensive, and it's a nice diversion if you're looking for something different to do. We were on the younger end of the crowd though, on a Friday night, recently. Don't know why that seems worth mentioning... but there it is.

I have now been to a number of productions at the Blue Barn over the past couple of years. The productions here are always well done. The theatre seats about 100 people, so the shows are really intimate. The quality of the acting, artistic design, and directing is high. The seasons have a lot of variety between shows you may know and new material that's less popular, but still very strong. I've simply never seen a bad show here.I recently saw Priscilla Queen of the Desert on stage here and was blown away. I was so impressed, in fact, that I'm considering becoming a season ticket holder for the next season. Check this place out. It's a hidden gem for theatre in Omaha.

With productions based on some of the works of David Sedaris (SantaLand Diaries), this place has got to be great. It's been around since the 1980s and has produced alot of good stuff. In addition to their plays, they also host other events. I've been to some pretty great improv events here.

We've beeb three times and had fun each time. Two of the three shows were excellent. The third was very good. It is a small, intimate theater, with a small talented cast. Lots of fun once or twice a year.
