I was a member of this gym for two years. Overall I was satisfied with the gym, especially with the prices and the staff were nice. Some of the gym equipment was wonky and needed to be worked on. Sometimes an elliptical would turn off unexpectedly or they'd be very squeaky and the clicks on one elliptical in the women's area would be loud and annoying. The biggest thing that bothered me would be that there are these rules about no talking on phones, no grunting, no slamming weights, etc but none of them are enforced despite there being multiple staff on hand when these "rule violations" incurred. The first year I was there I signed up for Pure Core PT and was satisfied despite the very pushy sales tactics from the Pure Core salesman when you first sign up for a Blue Moon gym membership. When they switched over the the XGT workout program I signed up with Pure Core again but that was when the problems began. At first my payment information was entered wrong which lead to a return payment fee that was eventually corrected and the card they already had on file expired a month later but I was completely unaware of this since no one at Pure Core decided to tell me. I got an email saying that a payment was missed (payment comes out at midnight and it was payday and another auto withdrawal beat PC to it) but a second attempt would occur later. I had assumed due to that email that my payment info was current but the second attempt never came. When I asked Jake (Pure Core Trainer) to look into it, I heard nothing come of it. I had thought that they were waiting until a late fee was incurred until they attempted another payment withdrawal so I was worried that I would be caught unaware so I cancelled my card and asked for my contract at Pure Core to be cancelled. I eventually cancelled my Pure Core contract and it cost me $450 to do so. Due to all of this and the dispute with Pure Core I ended up cancelling my Blue Moon gym membership and signed up with Planet Fitness where I don't have to pay for personal training or worry about paying a $450 termination fee. If you sign up with this gym then you should avoid signing up with Pure Core Personal Training/XGT even when they push that on you when you first sign up at Blue Moon.

Awesome place to workout. Don't ask about the library! (Apparently they don't read books here, lol)

Deceptive business practices. I don't care about the equipment or services available. My husband took our daughter in to sign her up. They hesitated and said she might not be able to sign up because of her age. Then, suddenly they had talked her into a platinum account, which included a handful of things the others did not. Guess what really never got used? The extra services. Can we downgrade to a different type of account? Answer: Yes, but you'll have to pay the annual fee all over again. Screw it. Let's cancel ... l pay the bill, so I call to cancel, but they won't let me cancel over the phone. Husband stops in after work but because he's "not the platinum card holder" (ironic, eh?) they won't allow him to cancel our daughter's membership for which we pay! They almost didn't let him sign her up, but now they won't let him cancel ... Finally we send her in, and they spring the $50 cancellation fee on her. She has to pay there, so they try to say that she has to come back with one of us ... !!!!! I ask to speak to the employee and I insist that she must take my info over the phone. Believe it or not she agreed to that! Maybe this would be better if the employees weren't so $ hit ty about it. Maybe it would be better if they were kind/nice/helpful when informing us and collecting these fees that I'm sure were buried in fine print (so that's our bad for not being more diligent ...) The sales staff sure is friendly, until you want to cancel the services that are no longer worthwhile to you. Blue Moon's advertising makes it seem super user friendly. The facility is fine, but their business practices, for lack of a better word, suck. UPDATE: Because we didn't cancel in a very specific window, Blue Moon is charging us for ANOTHER billing cycle. What a way to make money, Blue Moon--by confusing and deceptive practices. Even the woman who answered the phone this time acknowledged that the policy was "confusing" but insisted "that's just how our billing works." Because our cancellation is "pending" (Why can't it just be cancelled on the day we paid $50 for it to BE cancelled?) we still have to pay for a service my daughter no longer uses. There was no manager on duty when I called. I await his call. Let's see what he has to say. I will update again once I have that conversation.

I will give Blue Moon 5 stars for value, clean gym, & assortment of free weights, machines, tanning, & massage. However, there are members of their staff who make it a point to be arrogantly unpleasant to certain members. As a result, i give Blue Moon an overall of 2 stars. The staff should always be pleasant to everyone equally, & provide service to everyone equally.I'd recommend a different gym.

I discovered Blue Moon through the mail; they sent 3 free day passes to my apartment complex. Since signing up and going to this gym, I've lost a significant amount of weight. The equipment is fairly new and easy to use. The Precor treadmills are awesome, and my favorite. They're perfect for walkers and runners, with a knob to push up for acceleration and elevation. SO much better than pushing a button.I enjoy the atmosphere of this gym; there's a good crowd of all ages that come in and I like how everything is spaced out. The women's area is new and clean. I usually have good vibes when I walk in.The employee that works on the weekends can sometimes reek up the vibe; she's a bit moody, is constantly on her phone, and gets frustrated when interrupted. I feel so bad saying this because I also feel there might be a sweet side of her -- maybe switch up her hours a bit? :)It's just that this gym constantly emphasizes warm welcomes; I can't have too many dampers before I workout in your gym.But other than that, I'm moving out of state soon and I'm going to miss the quality of this gym.

Beware of bait and switch, I chose blue moon because I believed I was getting a no contract gym membership. Then when I went to cancel was told I can't cancel w/o $50. I then said it was wrong and hoped I didn't have to go to court over this and was threatened by staff to leave or have the police called. I now have no means to cancel and they assured me that will continue to run my bill. My bank had to block the transactions but I believe they are still attempting to run a tab. As a consumer I am now going to have to choose weather to submit to a big business or allow that big business to adversely affect my credit.Shame on blue moon fitness

Just a forewarning for potential customers- These gyms are good value for basics. The issues lie in the way they treat customers and their shady business practices which you will see if you go review their ratings. I had a card cancelled due to fraud and unlike ALL other businesses- they will not notify you because they would rather allow late fees to run up (I was lucky in that this happened literally ON my billing cycle date while I was out of the country and came into the gym only a few days after I returned- so I didn't go months like several other reviewers). In addition, if you have to cancel- in my case because of a very abrupt move I am moving out of the state with no access fee there is a 50$ fee (which I was fine with) however in addition they also force you to pay for the following month on top of this despite the fact that you are moving out of their service area and would be paying for something you cannot use (my monthly fee was still several weeks out so there is no excuse for this other than to screw me over because all major retailers have a stipulation for this and accommodate extenuating circumstances). Its a poorly run business with shady business practices so if you are going to use the gym - don't sign a contract. There are very few accounting programs than cannot run past due payments. Its a pretty simple report and your choice not to do this is clearly to take advantage and allow past due fees to build ( as is obvious per other reviews)As far as your contract: my renewal happens to be on the 20th so my cancellation meant you had almost a full months payment without use. Instead you seem to believe it is ok to charge someone for an additional month for a service they cannot use- I have lived in several states and used other budget gyms and never once when I was moving out of a service area have they forced additional months on me- that is the entire point of the cancellation fee. It is clear how you guys do business and stay afloat- by finding ways to screw people over. Poor business practice & the reason the have an F rating with BBB

Forcing someone to go in-person to cancel a membership during a pandemic and during snowstorms, when I no longer live close to the location - as well as not responding to inquiries about the cancellation and completely ignoring customers. Corporate and management are just trying to get your monthly fee without actually caring about your safety.

I was a member at this gym for a very short time. They have ridiculous rules(no deadlifting/no certain movements, etc.), and don't allow members to use specific equipment on the gyms main floor(row machines, assault bike, etc.). It's disappointing when you have to jump through hoops just to workout.
