Big Red Restaurant & Sports Bar

Sat immediately once we entered.Whole parking lot was crowded despite just sharing the lot with Los capos. We were initially going to drive to another place for dinner- hubby made the last minute change and I was dragging my feet coz I really wanted to try the other restaurant. Fast service made me happy- despite not admitting it, I was kinda hungry We ordered our drinks - I know I ordered a cocktail but I cannot for the life of me remember the name now. - it wasn't very strong but tasted pretty good Firecracker shrimp came out within 10 minutes - it was piping hot and freshly tossed with a delicious sweet and spicy sauce.This was good we couldn't stop eating it When our food came everything was delicious I ordered salmon with sweet potato tater tots and a coleslaw with a dinner roll. I'm a bread head - dinner rolls were soft and delicious.Coleslaw was tasty without being cloying .My salmon was not dry- even if it looked suspiciously dry.It was flakey- and moist It may have been a tad oversalted.But enjoyed my dinner tremendously. Thank you for turning it into a great night after a subpar lunch experience for me. And I want to thank our server -Abby for being very nice and polite. Thank you!!!!

Had a delicious impromptu dinner out. We starter with the firecracker shrimp, slightly spicy and yummy. Followed up by the blazing burger (sauce on the side) and onion rings. The sautéed jalapeno paired with the pepper jack cheese and bacon. Super. The onion rings, perfect. Light, crispy, wonderful. Our waitress was hopping but made sure we had all we needed. Always a good meal here.

Food is always pretty good here. Tonight I had the special chicken fried steak. The gravy was waaaaay too salty. Beer was really cold.

Service is attentive with plenty of tv's to find your desired viewing option. Recommendation to try the dry rub wings.

This place is underrated! They have frosty m beer mugs which is hard to find my father in law love it! The food is excellent and so was the service

A great place conveniently located to lots of main stores. Big ole sports bar with good food, big portions, friendly staff, stuff drinks! Super friendly staff!!

The chicken strips were hot and great, but my husband's hamburger and tater tots were cold and bad

Okay after driving 724 miles we stopped at Big Red, in Lincoln, Nebraska. We were seated right away and our server took our drink order. Then she came back and got our food order my husband had a Ruben and I had a baked potato and salad. Some other patrons came in and sat near us. We waited for our order, the other patrons ordered and were served before we were served. We were about to leave when our food arrived. Okay, the food was okay, but seriously you are a sports bar, no one is looking for a micro greens salad, and some of the salad was turning brown. Ya'll might go with a Texas Roadhouse salad and save yourself some money.

Food was ok to pretty good depending on what it was. I suggest that you confirm what comes on a sandwich, or if it comes with a side. I ordered a breaded (Deep Fried) chicken sandwich. Based on the menu picture I assumed it came with lettuce, tomato, onion, some kind of dressing such as mayo and at least a side of fries. It literally came with a small piece of chicken on a bun. Nothing else. There were a couple pickle slices on the side, but that was it. I am pretty sure that if I asked for the lettuce, tomato and onion it would have been provided, but I shouldn't have to ask. The ciabatta bun was fresh and tasty. No side included with the sandwich. The side of onion rings I ordered were ok, but I have had better in many places. Fresh oil would have made them a bit better.My wife had a BLT and fries. Fries were included with her sandwich. She said the BLT was really good, but fries tasted like they were fried in 3 day old, heavily used oil.Service was great. Atmosphere was as expected in a restaurant / sports bar.Rating would be 2-1/2 stars on my food experience. 3 stars for my wife and 4 stars on service.

Great place to go a beer and food with friends. We just had appetizers and beer with our two friends last night. Friendly waitress, cold beer (with pretty good selection), breaded cheese curds (which were very good) and pretzels with cheese (which were just average at best). In my opinion, they should have more appetizer options (like gizzards, livers, breaded mushrooms), so I thought they were lacking on this point. I had to look at waitress' small tablet to see the beer list (no printed copy provided). Quick service, even though they were packed when we got there at 8:30 pm. By 11, we were practically the only customers left in the place. I give it 4 stars.
