Betty Rae's Ice Cream

Zack was our Ice Cream Tour Guide and didn't leave anyone behind. His fave flavor was the hit for everyone, that tried it. Sad to hear he traded his home in the warm 50th State for the Midwest Tundra, but we all ended up here at one point. Pumpkin Pie in the fridge. Ice Cream Sandwiches with fresh cookies. Super Warm inside and plenty of room...but I definitely see some busy summer nights in their future.

I loved all of the flavors I have tried so far! The goat cheese, apricot and walnuts was a unique flavor but, lived up to the hype. Very creamy and hit all the right notes. I have also had the lavender which was not too overpowering like I have had other places. Would recommend!

Always excited when new ice cream comes to town. I've never been to the one in Kansas City but this sounded like it had a big following and excitement to come to Omaha. Thought the best way to try lots of flavors was to get a flight. Unfortunately you don't get to pick the flavors you want it's preselected. Overall I enjoyed the texture of the ice cream but wasn't overly impressed with any one flavor. S'mores would probably be my top followed by cookies and cream which I'm not usually a fan. Worth a try but not something I've been craving since having it.

Unique, rich and creamy is how I'd describe my first time trying Betty Rae's Ice Cream flavors. I loved seeing the classics like chocolate and vanilla on their menu, mixed with unique flavors like Big Red (red velvet) or Cereal too. Everything here is homemade and you can definitely taste it in every bite! I went for it all today and tried a "flight" which included 6 regular size scoops for flavors for $15 to sample a lot. My favorite was the red velvet since I'm a huge fan of red velvet cake - it even has a cream cheese frosting note to it! The staff were very welcoming and happy to help walk me through their menu and toppings list. Since it was opening day, not every item was available yet but will be very soon. Ample seating inside is available with a few benches outside as well. It's right across the street from the Aksarben village area. You won't want to miss it!

This was their second day of being open and they had a steady stream of people coming in. The gals working there were super nice and encouraged tasting of any ice cream that you wanted. The ones I tasted were very good! They said they don't have all the flavors from Kansas City yet, but are working on it. They still had a big selection. Love the location! Will be nice to have somewhere to stop in for a shake or some ice cream without driving far out of my way. I would have taken more pictures, but my camera is currently a bit messed up as you can see.

We had an hour wait for dinner so we decided to get ice cream 1st and that was a great idea! So many great flavors.

Absolutely delicious ice cream! We tried the lavender honey with oat and honey and the crème brûlée with cinnamon. I loved how many unique flavors there were, with so many options to choose from. The flavors themselves tasted very fresh and real, and the texture was perfect. It was almost more of the thickness of a custard. Definitely check this place out!

First time at Betty Rae's and the ice cream was very sweet to my liking, especially paired with the waffle cone. We got the gooey butter cake ice cream with freshly made waffle cones. The waffle cone tasted almost like those Dutch griddle cakes that you get from Trader Joe's, which I thought tasted amazinggg! We were able to sample the ice cream before choosing too!

LOTS of ice cream flavors to choose from! Staff was very friendly and let us try multiple flavors. Their waffle is more pancake like which was interesting, not my favorite, but glad I gave it a try! I felt like the ice cream was more on the icy side and not as smooth. Worth a try if you're in the area!
