Autosounds of Lincoln

As a surprise 8th anniversary gift from my wife (spouses, take note :) I just received a killer car audio system from AUTOSOUNDS of Lincoln! The whole experience was such a memorable one, that I want to take some time to share it with you in hopes that you may also gain a trusted advisor in the car stereo realm... My life's experience has been that in the attempt to learn everything about everything you are interested in can become consuming and frustrating - I've learned a better way... Find someone with years of dedicated research and experience whom you like and trust to help guide your decision process! I have found that person in Shayne Baldwin, store manager at AUTOSOUNDS of Lincoln -- and here's why:On a Saturday afternoon this summer I had some time on my hands & just decided to drop by any ol' car audio store, hoping for a demo of some high-end subs. So, I simply Googled "car stereo" on my phone-- AUTOSOUNDS was the most convenient location... I was welcomed in immediately and explained how I was doing a little research because I hadn't seriously looked into purchasing car audio for 15 years & was hoping for a demo :D ! ! After explaining that I was hoping to add some oomph to my pathetic factory stereo in our 2001 VW, Shayne said something that blew my socks off. Seriously, you aren't going to believe this....... He suggested that I try one of the LEAST expensive components in his store....... not only that, but if after hearing it upon installation, if the sound wasn't what I was hoping for, they'd swap it out for something else (obviously for the difference) ... until I found the sound I was desiring!!! WHAT?!?! I'd never heard of such customer service, but I sure was liking it :-D After further explaining that my TRUE intentions were more along the lines of adding a lotta oomph, Shayne suggested a better suited option: a single 10" JL W6v2 paired with a JL mono amp. I wasn't familiar with JL, so he told me about their cutting edge technology and reputation for some of the best subs in the industry. I'd been jammin' out to a new favorite song & really wanted to hear it in particular... He obliged by offering to hook up my iPod to the head unit & we took a listen... The tight kick drum sent a pounding in my chest that I hadn't felt since the band's concert a month prior & when the bass guitar came in, that "10" was thunderous!! I went home raving about the experience to my wife and a few weeks later she surprised me on our anniversary with a gift certificate for the exact install that I'd gotten the demo on... without me knowing, she'd called over & spoken with Shayne, who remembered me stopping in & they coordinated it all! Now I get to experience that concert-like sound in my car whenever I want, thanks to (my wife) Shayne & all the guys down at the shop!!

Autosounds is absolutely outstanding! I stopped in to look at a double-din for my daughter's 4Runner. I had no intention of buying but was interested in learning more. I was immediately greeted by Jason who patiently walked me through the various options and price-points. He was incredibly knowledgable and provided exceptional service. I ended up making a purchase and the installation was professional, on time, and Jason walked me through all of the features.As a business owner myself here in Lincoln, I can assure you that I will return to Autosounds for additional services. Professional, courteous, and delivered on what they promised. I am a new raving fan!

Went in and they didn't have the system I wanted in stock and said they had to order it as well as the install kit for my car and they would call when it was in. Never heard from them. When I called back they said they could no longer order the unit I wanted but I could have the floor model...at pretty much no discount. Would have been nice if they at least called to say my item was discontinued and it couldn't be ordered.On the plus...and this is the only plus...they said if i bought something on my own, they'd install it for me.

I had these people install an XM Onyx in my Audi A4 a couple months ago. After going through all the BS about German cars and blah blah blah. I agreed to a price and made an appointment. When I got back they had routed the antenna barely 3 feet to the right side above the windshield, stuck the unit above my glove box with a silly putty like substance and charged me nearly 50 bucks more than the price we agreed to!! A month later the thing falls off the dash. I took it back and they put double sided tape on the dash, last week it fell off again and now they are hemming and hawing and making noises about buying a better mounting system. Why didn't they put it on a mounting system that works in the first place???? I had Best (worst) Buy put an XM Roady in my old Mazda 6 and even a head on collision didn't knock that thing loose.

My husband bought his stereo system from Crutchfield, not thinking to look locally. He also decided to try to install it with the help from one of his friends....the stereo sounded HORRIBLE and would cut in and out depending on the bumpiness of the road. Even though he did not buy the stereo from Autosounds, he went in to see if they could help him! They were very friendly and polite and helped him fix the problem short-term! He will be going in next month to get a long-term solution to this problem, but for now the stereo sounds MUCH better than when he first installed it! Their helpfulness, even with the product not being bought from them, is terrific! Will definitely be buying auto media equipment from them from now on!!

I bought a stereo for my car last year from here at a great price and they were so friendly and fast putting it in! Fast forward to today we had to put a new battery in the car and afterward the radio wouldn't turn on so I brought it over here and they said no problem and fixed It right up in about a half hour! Very nice service! Definitely recommend coming here!

I just had a few questions about my stereo. and wasn't trying to really buy anything and thease guys answered every single question I had. We're very knowledgeable. Very friendly. I even went in late and held them up past closing and they were very happy to help me. This is a great place with great people working there. And reasonable prices. They are not trying to sell you the most expensive stuff, they're just trying to meet your expectations and send you in the right direction. I highly recommend this place!

very friendly staff, they are super quick and helpful. i've never bought a car radio and they happily explained everything to me.

Would not recommend. Their customser service is awful. They'll tell you that they'll get you done first thing but then leave you wondering all day. Not worth it. Better places elsewhere.

AutoSounds is the best place to take your car for audio repair or installation, not only because of the job they do, but also because of the people themselves. They were courteous both over the phone and in person. They solved my simple problem which I didn't really want to do myself, and called me to give me options of how I wanted them to fix the problems, along with the approximate prices of each option, broken down into parts and labor. They used my name when I went to pick up my car and I was charged what they said would be the end cost. Very helpful, polite, and overall great service!! Take your car here for sound system issues!
