Delicious homemade sauce! The sauce is really the award winner here. Does the Meatball sub come with the sauce? Yes, I'll take it. Does the pasta come with the sauce? Great, I'll take it. Oh wait, the Chicken Parmesan has the sauce too? I'll take that too! In all seriousness, everything from this food truck is delicious. I also just have an obsession with sauce. If I could just get a bowl of sauce and garlic bread to dip in it, I would be all set. It is hearty and boldly flavorful. I've tried many things from this food truck and they are all great! I also love how they serve their sandwiches with tots instead of the usual fries. Portion sizes are large and filling. One of the best things is the people! You are always warmly greeted when you walk up to the truck. I was even studying the menu from a couple yards away and they reached out to make sure I understood everything and if I had any questions. I look forward to have Piccolo's many times this summer on their tours around the city!

This food truck is a vendor at my work every other week or so. So far I've tried the sloppy tots, the bacon wrapped fried meatball, the chicken tenders, and the prime dip sandwich. All have been really good but the star of the show (and the priciest) is the prime dip. The bread was really fresh, the meat portion generous and the au jus so good you could drink it straight. Most items are served with tator tots. Some people wonder what's up with all the tots but I think it's a nice change of pace from french fries and taste better than the ones you bake at home on a cookie sheet. They've been pretty popular with the masses, the only complaint I've heard is that it's a little heavy for lunchtime. To that - I say portions could be shared or leftovers taken home. Hope they keep coming back as the Italian steak sandwich is next on my wish list.

I would not come back here. We had a big food truck rodeo at my work and this was one of the trucks that we visited. I got the steak and potato sandwich. I could barely eat because a lot of the meat was CHUNKS of fat. I posted a picture of some of the fat chunks, but that wasn't all of them. I started throwing away fat chunks before I took the picture. Now, I get that the steak sandwich would have some fat in it but this was disgusting. I told the girl at the window and she was rude about it and didn't care.

When I worked downtown last millennium, Piccolo's was a lunch regular. But I'll admit that once I stopped working downtown I never found the opportunity to stop there again before they closed. So I was happy to see that a family member opened a lunch truck and especially happy that it regularly visits the work office I was assigned to a few months ago. Lots of tempting choices but I went with the most expensive item on the menu, the Prime Rib sandwich. The sandwich was delicious and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the included tater tots. Will definitely get lunch from them next time I see the truck.

This recently opened Food Truck comes from the Piccolo Family Restaurant, Nana Grace's grandson Scott Sheehan. After diligently converting their Atlanta food truck, they finally opened for business a few weeks ago. They have a perfectly simple menu to go by, but check out their Facebook Page for specials (today they had Chicken Noodle Soup - maybe for another day...), but I had to try out their famous Mostaccoili Meatballs and their "Sloppy Italian" which was like a chili nacho plate but with tater tots. The food was excellent and I had a nice conversation with Scott while there, he hopes to do more catering during the cold months, and become a little more mobile. They have an App to order food and check out where they are, but it is not working yet. Definitely a place worth visiting when it is in your hood!

This place is delicious! I loved the Mostaccioli and Meatballs. The sauce is amazing. I also thought the mozarella sticks may have been the best I've ever had. I was a bit disappointed to know it is just a food truck, and not a restaurant I could take my family to. Maybe one day?

check them out here: https://www.facebook.com/anthonypiccolosAfter months of trying to stalk the truck on Facebook and match it out with my lunch or dinner schedule- The stars finally aligned today! We took a short 10 minute drive down to the UPS lot off of South 75, where they were scheduled to be via Facebook-they updated this info 3 nights ago. I did suggest to Scott when I saw him that he should update daily where the truck is going to be in the morning and then also write when they arrive/park at their spot so people can know that they're there and start coming to place orders. Many times in the past the truck wasn't very close to my house so I wasn't sure whether I should go check out if they were there or not due to not wanting to drive and be disappointed-but if I knew for sure they would be there I would consider that worth the drive. We decided to go for an order of the prime rib dip, the sloppy Italian (which is really nacho tater tots-genius) and the pasta dish with meatballs (cue italian dish name I couldn't pronounce). We both thought the prime rib dip was better than average although the bread on the bottom got a little soggy on our drive home closed up in the to go box and sweating from the fresh cooked heat. I imagine it would be even more excellent eating it just there in person or sooner; I'll have to wait for winter to pass for that one. My one critique on the sandwich was probably just that the dip/sandwich was pretty salty, otherwise I thought the meat tenderness and the flavoring was actually really good. The pasta I thought was pretty traditional... I don't know if the sauce is a special "na na" recipe but I found it to just be a standard marinara type sauce which was also very good but didn't strike me as a speciality item that can't be found elsewhere. I would order it again if I was craving pasta--it tasted very homey and the meatballs had good flavor and texture. The real winner for me and the original reason I wanted to check out the truck was the sloppy Italian-a form of nacho tater tots. The tots did not disappoint and we enjoyed having that as an accompaniment to our meal. I would definitely go back to have this again. If you like sonic's chili cheese tots these will blow it out of the water. I adore food trucks and I'm happy that another one has come to Omaha. Looking forward to what they'll be cooking up in the future.

Piccolo's Mobile Venue was scheduled at my work on Friday for a change at lunch time. It was a great change. There were about 6-7 choices and I went with the Chicken Parmesan sandwich. Bun was tender and nice big piece of seasoned chicken. Very tasty. I look forward to trying some other selections.

This food truck came to my workplace the other day and was I couldn't help but check it out. (My brother owned a food truck and I've helped him cook/serve a few times.) As I stood there reading the menu, I was promptly greeted by one of the workers. After I was done reading the menu, I was still curious if there was anything special about the foods listed and asked the worker if he had any input on what they cooked and he sold me.I ended up getting the steak sandwich with au jus sauce and tator tots. The sandwich was five ounces of very juicy, perfectly cooked, thinly slicked prime rib with provolone cheese on a ciabatta square roll. The bread was soft and when dunked in au jus sauce soaked up the juice pretty well, almost to the point where it looked like it was going to fall apart, but somehow stayed together. So, the bread wasn't that firm. The provolone cheese held the sliced meat together and tasted like.. provolone. The tatot tots were lightly salted/seasoned and lightly crispy. They weren't as crispy as I'd like, but they were your school lunch soggy.Overall the staff was nice and informative. That day the menu was a little small and the food was not too complex/fancy, it was just good simple food. The prices were fair and food was served fairly quickly. I would probably eat here again for lunch if they were in the area.
