Ameristar's Beer & Bacon Festival

Truly unlimited amounts of beer and bacon dishes at this event! They served: 1) bacon gazpacho (2) bacon pork tacos 3) bacon cheeseburger sliders 4) Pulled pork Bacon sliders 5) signature bacon ice cream. All of this food was courtesy of Ameristar's Casino.. surprising!The gazpacho, sliders, and ice cream were super good. The ice cream was both sweet and savory with a mild hint of spice to it.. made in-house!!Beer was courtesy of Keg Creek Brewing in Glenwood, IA. Not bad! Their Apricot is definitely my #1 pick! Only complaint about today was not being able to eat and drink more.. !!

The venue is so cool it's right on the river. The food was outstanding! I was so impressed for a food festival how gourmet each dish was. I was a little disappointed in the beer selection. I hope the next festival brings in a different vendor.

So much beer. So much bacon. This event at Ameristar was super awesome! It was my first time there and I was surprised by how good the food was. I loved the candied bacon gazpacho and the bacon ice cream because I love salty sweet stuff. The burgers (especially the one with the pretzel bun) were also super good. It was also my first time trying beer from Iowa, Keg Creek Brewing--the moon gold apricot was my fav! Thank you Ameristar staff and Will for this fabulous event!!

This was a really nice event! I enjoyed all the different food they offered. My favorite was probably the Gazpacho because of the bacon that was paired with it. It tasted like candy bacon. I also liked the shredded beef tacos. Finally, the ice cream was good, but I could of lived without the peacans. They were so spicy. I was not a fan of the beer, but I am picky when it comes to beer anyway! I loved the view & the fact that the sun started to come out towards the end. Also, I liked how they had games for people to play.

If you have ever even thought about coming to this event I highly recommend it! They have fantastic food, including candied bacon in gazpacho, pulled pork tacos, BBQ pulled pork sliders with a thick yummy pickle slice, bacon burger sliders, and the penultimate bacon ice cream in a waffle cone!!!! All of the food was so so good. It is hard to even come up with a favorite. I will say the ice cream is on a whole other level. The waffle cone was rimmed in chocolate and topped with bacon crumbles, and pecan bits. I am not even a fan of ice cream, but this is amazing!! The Beer is provided by Keg Creek out of Glenwood. They had many varieties, including their cream Ale, the red ale, Breakdown Brown, Moongold Apricot (wheat) and their No Paddle IPA. My favorite being the last two. I am happy they went with craft beers and especially a local Iowa brewery. However, it would be nice if they had more craft beer options from other breweries. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. They even had a large Jenga game and two cornhole games for additional entertainment. We had a wonderful time and I will definitely be going again.

Thoroughly enjoyed myself at Ameristar's Beer and Bacon Festival. Highlights- The bacon ice-cream (the best)- This was genius. The flavor was butter brickle with bits of bacon studded in the ice cream and the cone was lined with bacon too!!! Fantastic! The beer burgers- These were yum!The apricot beer- My friend really enjoyed this! The candied baconThe setting was awesome. It was in the bar patio, which is right by the river.
