I attended ALC for a kids 8th birthday party. Both my kids, 8 & 5 attended and it was a fun experience. It was cold, so prepare accordingly as the indoor stalls and riding area is not heated. We did a brief tour of the stable, and then the group was broken in two three groups. They got to ride 3 different horses, guided by some young girls for about an hour and then on to the cake and presents. It was a unique opportunity for my kids to ride. I was unaware this was even a thing - and it's about 25 minutes from Omaha in Blair/Bennington off County Rd 41.

Just up the road a piece from Omaha, you would swear you are far away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Think wayyy north on 72nd Street. A turnoff onto a non-descript gravel road leads you to the picturesque grounds of the American Legacy Complex.Horseback riding lessons are offered here and they have quite the facility. Both indoor and outdoor areas are here and several horses to learn to ride on. My son has taken a few lessons here and has enjoyed it. Safety comes first as my son was required to wear a helmet. Also, they learn to brush the horses towards the end of the lesson. The staff here is friendly and helpful. They also have horse events from time to time where they have rides, contests, etc. I haven't been to one yet with my son but plan to in the near future.

Our daughter has been taking lessons here for a few months. The setting is beautiful - perched up on a hill off of CR 40 (which is about 5 miles north of 72nd street from the 680 exit) overlooking a lot of rolling hills, farmland and other countryside. We were previously working with a different trainer at another facility and American Legacy offers a more formal and higher caliber program. They even put on a horse show a couple of times a year that the kids can compete in and learn how to show at a very reasonable price. Our younger daughter also likes to tag along because in addition to the horses they board, they have alpacas, sheep, chickens, ducks and ponies to check out.My only reason for 4 stars is because we have experienced some issues with miscommunication between trainers (one trainer left so we were moved to another trainer and the new trainer didn't have record of our lesson schedule). Overall though, if you are looking for a facility to board horses, take lessons or even have a birthday party, we are really happy with American Legacy. Lessons run $40 a piece or $140 if you buy a package of 4.

I just had my daughter's birthday party here. The location is bit far from where we live(west O), but for the purpose of the facility it makes total sense. It's beautiful out there in the country and we enjoyed the view. The facility is pretty old. They have place to have kids' birthday party and have table ready for you to start refreshment as you get there. About 30 min can be spent for cake and drink, opening gifts in the room. You can bring whatever you want to eat/drink. After that kids head out to horse barn and get the tour, pet and brush horse. Then move to the indoor arena for horse back riding and games. It took full 2 hours and kids had a blast. Birthday kid gets stuffed horse and guests get plastic horse. They were friendly and nice people. And with all these fun and great activities, the cost is only $15/kid. Great experience for kids. I highly recommend this place for kids' party:)

I had a horrible experience here. The owner of the complex was very rude and judgmental when I went here to try and take riding lessons.
