After 30 years, my setting was pretty beat up, but I still really liked my setting. We upgraded the size of the stone and Marty masterfully made the modification to accept the bigger stone and repairs to my ring. He made suggestions for a lowered stone bracket and it's perfect for the setting. I swear it looks even better than when it was brand new! I'm so happy with it! Support local!

They've sized a number of my deceased mother's rings for me and done a beautiful job!

Wow. I cannot say enough positive things about Akala.I am from Illinois. I wanted to make my fiancé's ring out of white gold and stones from rings of my mother, grandmother, and her mother's rings. I mailed him the two stones and half-shank of white gold and he put together renderings from what I sent. He texted and called me as needed to get the ring designed EXACTLY how I wanted it (even got it engraved for free!). The process was quick, the service was friendly, and the quality is SPECTACULAR. I have zero complaints in my interactions with Marty and the others at Akala.I ordered the ring a little big, so after I proposed, my fiancé sent it back in to have it resized. Marty resized it the day he received it, re-engraved it, and mailed it back to her with chocolate! Seriously. I don't care WHERE in the U.S. you live, Akala jewlery is THE place to go for rings, especially if you're wanting a custom design.
