This was a very nice little motel. No frills, but you do get television, a desk, a refrigerator, an alarm clock, and most importantly, a fairly comfortable bed. I stopped at around 9:00 and the proprietor was awake and ready to rent me a room. If you are hungry, you can walk across the parking lot to a local restaurant. Right off of I-80. Good location!

We were turned away from the Motel 6 down the road because we had too many cats with us. Apparently they only allow 2 pets per room. They suggested we try the Acova Inn Motel down the way, and we were pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. I liked that we could drive right up to our room instead of having to climb up a bunch of stairs with 4 cat carriers, and the area seemed quiet, even though it was the fourth of July weekend. The room smelled of carpet shampoo or some kind of cleaning product, but it didn't linger. After almost a week of cheap hotels it was really nice to have a room that not only LOOKED clean, but SMELLED clean. The high-pile carpet in our room was fluffy, clean, and not matted. The sheets felt really good, not like typical motel sheets, but like something one would have at home. There was a desk in the corner with a rolling chair and a list of wi-fi networks and passwords we could use during our stay which was a nice touch. We found two individually wrapped soaps next to the sink that were "coastal breeze" scented, and they smelled really good, much better than typical motel soap. Our room also had a mini fridge, microwave, dresser, corded phone, and coffee maker with all the fixings. I was impressed by the T.V. mount in the room as well. One could pull the T.V. out from the wall and swivel it side to side to get a better view. We had a great stay here. We had been driving for days, and instead of feeling like we were somewhere in Iowa, we felt at home. It was very quiet and relaxing, even though there were kids setting off fireworks in front of the house across the parking lot.I added pictures of this place because I know how much pictures matter to fellow Yelpers. I know I wouldn't have considered it if it hadn't been my only option. I tried to get Yelp to correct the name, but their response was basically, "Thank you for your suggestion." At least now there's a picture of the actual motel sign.Definitely check this place out if you're in the area. You'll be glad you did.

Hidden gem! My husband and I were wary of the low cost ($45) as our recent experiences with other motels were awful. I am glad we gave the Acova Inn a chance! The room (#10) was immaculate! It is obvious that the owner takes pride in her establishment. The room was HUGE, with two comfy queen beds, a separate kitchenette area, and a nice bathroom. Very quiet! Per friendly (we are travelling cross-country with 2 cats). The manager was very accommodating, staying well past the normal office hours to help us check-in @10pm. I highly recommend the Acova Inn Motel to anyone looking for an affordable, cozy alternative to the national chains.

Very nice small town stay. Affordable and recently remodeled, this old style (park at the door) motel was clean, well maintained and the staff was very friendly. The facility was pet friendly as well. Be advised, that the correct name for this motel is "Acova Inn" not "Acoa Inn".

Well, we've been coming thru Avoca for 14 years and always stayed at the Acova Inn. Yesterday was no exception, made a reservation for a room.We get there, the rates had gone up quite a bit from what they used to be, ok. So we relax and go next door to the restaurant, which is FABULOUS!So we come back and go to bed. Well it's now 2:00 am. What am I doing up at 2:00 am? Bed bugs! Like I said we have been staying there for a decade. I went up to the front office, there was a man in the laundry room, I told him about what happened, I guess he thought I was being rude, no dude, I was just awakened by a stinging, itching feeling. Sure enough I looked and saw the flat brown bug! I tried to get a picture and a napkin, but he went and hid somewhere. I tried calling the front desk, no answer. We left and won't be back! And the lady who checked us in said this was the most updated room. We are clean people. Haven't had any problem until this stay at the Acova Inn. Usually it's jam packed front and back. Not this time. Too bad

Friendly staff, clean room, toilet flushed right down. Nice flowers all around. We had our small dog with no extra fee or problems. The room had no towel racks or hooks to hang things. I think our room was a smoking room and they used a strong scented product (carpet powder?) to mask the smell. This made the stay unpleasant for me because I am sensitive to perfumes.

This place is amazing. We are traveling with four cats. All pets are welcome and only a $5.00 charge. Beds are very, very comfortable and the room is spacious and clean. The wi-if is fast and reliable.
