A Taste of New Orleans

Today's special, the seafood jambalaya, candied yams and fried okra were excellent! I really wanted to try the Ted & Wally's ice cream. A separate business that uses the same dining room, but I was already afraid I wouldn't be able to walk out of the restaurant and too my car because I was so full with plenty of food to spare! I guess, I will have to come back for a second trip to taste the "richest in the USA!" Ice cream.

Some of my coworkers were talking about this place having the best Blackened shrimp and grit in Omaha; so I thought I come try it for myself.This place is perfectly located on the corner of Maple St and Lynn Av in the old BENSON area.They have some a small designated parking lot, and there is additional parking along the street too. The restaurant is spacious, very nicely decorated with a very nice selection of music playing.The lady at the counter was very friendly and offered several suggestions.I finally decided to get the catfish, blackened shrimp with green beans, yams and a side of grits.... OH MY GOD was I surprised with my first sample of everything on my plate.The menu is a bit busy...but once you take a second to sort through it, you will see that they have a very nice selection for everybody preference.Overall summary = Everything was perfectly cook and tasted great! I will definitely be returning to try other things on the menu..THE CATFISH - was cooked perfectly; seasoned well, cooked properly and seasoned to perfection.THE BLACKENED SHRIMP - was juicy, flavorful and also cooked perfectly. I would have liked to have a larger shrimp for my order but those that I received were just fine.THE YAMS - were cubed, and cooked perfectly; very tender with a glaze on them that was perfect.....not too sweet, it had a nice balance of seasoning with a very sticky icky good-good coating.THE GREEN BEANS - were nicely cooked and were also seasoned very nicely.I also had their "Who dat punch" and it was on the sweet side, but definitely a nice addition to my meal. Note: (they offer "free" refills), so be sure to get you a glass togo.

The lady who took our order was so wonderful! She was so kind and attentive to us. I ordered the Po' Boy and my friends ordered the fries. My friends really enjoyed their food. I did feel my Po' Boy was missing a traditional remoulade sauce or some mayo to elevate the taste of the sandwich. I would not recommend getting the Po' Boy, but I would be interested in going again and trying the fries. We also ordered beignets and they were small, cute, and super yummy!Note: This restaurant is at the same location as Ted & Wallys in the Benson area.

This was a good try. The lady that took our order was friendly and sweet. She answered all of our questions about the menu. The business is located inside the Ted and Wally's in the Benson area. You can view the cook from the counter. Place was clean but seating is limited so we got our food to go. Parking is located on the side street or back or the business. Nice place for some fresh Cajun food!

Try this place for the first time wasn't really pleased. This place is way over priced. I ordered chicken wings, catfish and shrimp for the kids. It was not hot like you would expect it to be fresh out the grease. It's just something i could have made at home. Nothing special at.

Absolutely loved this food truck. It was at a theater venue for an event I was attending, and at intermission we went out and ordered food. They were efficient in getting the food out, provided extremely good customer service, and the food was off the chain. I ordered a catfish Poboy and other than the bread of the sandwich itself I loved everything. The bread was kind of soggy, I think from the lettuce sitting on top of it. But the catfish was seasoned and fried to perfection without being greasy or soggy. The fries were crispy and hot. And the sauce in those little containers is magic. Use every last drop on your sandwich and you will be in heaven!

Sweet and Severus staff, phenomenal food. The green beans in gravy are slept on. Love the catfish,pastas, and sandwiches.

Love A Taste of New Orleans food, service and experience. The crawfish pasta was fabulous but seemed more salty than it needed to be. It was great to pair the dinner with some ice cream.

Outstanding catfish!! We all had the combo basket which comes with catfish, shrimp and fries. It was all very good but for me the catfish was a top
