Olympus Gyros

Best Gyros in the area and they pack that thing full of meat! Their polish was amazing too!

The place looked a bit outdated both inside and out. I came up to the counter and placed my order, which was #10, Gyro Sandwich (no onions) with Fries and a Drink.It did not take long for my food to come out. I picked it up at the same counter. I was a bit disappointed... The Gyro looked a bit anorexic... And the fries looked overdone.I started with the fries and they were okay, the pre-frozen kind. Gyro was a bit dry and over moistened at the same time... Just a weird experience overall.What was even stranger, was the fact that someone came in and their food was brought out to them... So certain customers get different treatment...Overall a C- experience! I will be back to try something else.

We wanted to try somewhere new today and went with Olympus Gyros due to their high rating and reviews.Upon entering, we were greeted by the lady behind the counter. She took our order promptly and we sat in a booth. The dining area is simple but clean. We received our meal in about 5 minutes.The portions are more than plenty. The fries and basic fries, but their gyro meat comes on the side with pita, tzatziki sauce, onions, tomatoes, and a small Greek salad. I like that they leave it to you how much sauce and everything you want on your sandwich! The salad was tasty, and all ingredients seemed fresh. The chicken gyro meat was delicious. Not too oily and not dried out.Overall, we were very happy with Olympus! The prices are slightly high, but not enough to deter us from returning. Excellent lunch!

YUM, Olympus Gyros - you are a find!One of my favorite foods is the Chicago-style gyros - I can literally eat this on a daily basis and will never get sick of it. HA.Olympus Gyros has been around for years, and this family -owned and -operated business is loved by the locals - you can tell that they have a great relationship with their patrons, as I've overheard conversations that included how the family/children were, health, etc. - so nice!Besides gyros, they also have soups, salads, Chicago-style hot dogs, sausages, burgers, sandwiches, various sides, and 'meal deals' - look for their specials of the day by the cash register.Stopping by for a quick bite, I ordered the Gyros Sandwich with extra onions and extra tomatoes, well-done. The gyros themselves were sliced perfectly and tasted so good; the onions and the tomatoes were fresh and plentiful. The pita bread was fluffy and one of the better pita breads I've had.The service here is very friendly, welcoming, and kind.The place is set up like a small diner, with some booths inside. A small parking lot if available to park your vehicle.I'd like to return again for their gyros, but also to try out their 'famous' tacos, fish sandwich, and burgers.YUM!+tasty gyros!+friendly service!+private lot available for parking

Family size platter was amazing. The gyro meat is freshly made and the feta is divine.

We were in the are doing a delivery and when we searched on Yelp for a place to have lunch this one was less than a mile away on the street we were driving on! They have a private parking lot. We placed our order and got it really quickly. We ordered two Gyros sandwiches and the meat was a little over cooked for my husbands liking but I thought it was great! The weather is in the 30's today and the restaurant was warm and had heaters running which we appreciated. The lady who took our order was very sweet. We will be back for sure if we are in the area! They have lots of great menu items and variety. Check it out and see what you think!

It was my sons first gyro and he liked it, but I thought it was just okay. I had to roll the sandwich myself which was awkward and they only gave me three small tomato slices. The fries were completely boring. The inside of the place looks pretty run down, which I would have ignored if the food was awesome. I expected way more for 4-1/2 stars on Yelp! I was expecting one of the best gyros I've ever had - especially when I saw what the place looked like and it still had 4-1/2 stars. It wasn't that. This place was simply passable. I think three stars is fair.

We finally tried this place. We both got gyros, and both really liked it. We also tried a taco, and that was also very good. Definitely good food. Im looking forward to trying their Italian Beef sandwich next time.

Olympus Gyros is the place to go if you want gyros because they definitely have the best gyro I've had in a really long time. Everything was made to order so it was fresh. What made the gyro so good was the ratio of the meat, sauce, veggies, & pita was perfect for me. The taste was definitely top notch as well! Some places are either too greasy or the meat tastes off, but this place did it just right! Even the fries were freshly cooked & crisped to perfection!Service was great and pretty fast for made-to-order food. The ambiance is just like any old-timey place where they have booth seating & Family Feud playing on the TV at the time I went.The food was so good that we even got a couple Chicago dogs with some more fries to go! Oh & they have Mexican food too so we got some fire Spanish rice on the side as well! All of the other food we got was good. Even the fountain drink with free refills was fine.I definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for good eats, especially gyros!Oh, one last thing: the only very minor complaint I had about this place was the 4% service charge on Credit Cards. I get that a lot of places are starting to do this now to help with the cost of everything going up, but it was the only thing sort of negative about my experience here. So if you bring cash then I guess that's not an issue for you, but then again who does nowadays? I just would have gone about that in a different manner & probably built the additional cost in to the menu price then give a discount to cash paying customers. Prices everywhere are already just going up, up, & up so the additional processing fee just kind of left a little bit of an "Oh" feeling. Again, not that big of a deal as they did have signs everywhere (including on the front door of the restaurant) about it, but I would have gone about it a different way like I said above. Better to bring about something positive than in a negative way.Ok, I've said too much! Still check this place out even if it can get difficult getting from one side of the tracks to the other during rush hour traffic! The gyros are definitely worth the trip!
