Olive Cafe

We originally planned to go the Mission Cafe but that place was way too busy, so we spotted the Olive cafe just a few blocks away. It's a quaint little cafe with a large patio area. For a small cafe, they have lots of options. We ordered via their online app, and there's lots of customization options. I got the breakfast quesadilla with hash browns. It was delicious with a slightly crispy outside. There's avocado, eggs, mushrooms and bacon. It was very large; enough to share. The hash browns were also crispy outside and tender inside. Hubby got the breakfast burrito and really enjoyed it too. This is a nice spot for breakfast or lunch.

We were on vacation to San Diego and saw Olive Cafe as being highly recommended for breakfast, so we decided to check it out. The restaurant was VERY crowded. The inside was a charming older dining room. We actually opted for the patio, which was basic but nice.The service was friendly. I wasn't expecting ordering at the counter, and it was a bit hard to get helped due to how busy it was. The food, to me, was average. My coffee was rather strong and my parents didn't love their breakfast combos. They said they were just okay. My tuna melt was a bit different with the celery but I enjoyed it. I also got a cup of the Spicy Tomato Soup which I thought was worth the price.I don't know if I'd go back because of how many options are in the area, but it was fine. Not worth the hype, IMO.

Still our favorite place in Mission Beach for breakfast and lunch. The avocado toast and acaí bowl are the best I've had. Yummmm

Stopped by after Kayaking in mission bay. This is a really cute hole-in-the-wall Cafe that was absolutely great, perfect for post exercise chilling. It's all mostly outdoor seating but there are some available seats inside. The service is at the counter but they bring the food out to you! I got the breakfast burrito with chicken and peppers, which was super good. I never thought chicken in a breakfast burrito would be good but it was rock solid. For drink I got an ice caramel latte which was so refreshing! I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

While in San Diego, my friend INSISTED we go to olive cafe. The location is less than a block from the beach and was such a cool experience! The wait to order was outside and did not take long. The restaurant itself was small but had lots of outdoor seating! I ordered a turtle mocha and french toast and my total was just under $22. Our food took about 15 minutes to come out and all the staff was incredibly kind!!! In my opinion, the coffee was wildly overpriced and had a bit of an off flavor. The french toast however was worth every penny! The fruit was so fresh and paired well with the rich cinnamon flavor and maple syrup. All in all this place was very cute and "beachy" and the food is definitely a hit!

This is a really cute place. I was hangry after beaching it. The "beach breakfast" hit the spot. You order and pay then find a seat and they bring your food out to you. The scrambled eggs were a bit overcooked, but the hash browns were amazing! I would definitely return to this cute little cafe.

If you're in the Mission Beach area, this place is a must! It's a cute spot with a small indoor area, but a solid outdoor area. It's counter service, so I'd recommend grabbing a spot under an umbrella while waiting for your food to be ready.The breakfast burritos are truly unreal. Something about the combination of flavors was just perfect. You could really tell that the ingredients were high quality and cooked nicely. The hash browns hit the spot and the bacon added just the right flavor. I would be more than happy to come back for a burrito the next time I'm in town!

The location is easy to find, a few minutes from the beach or the bay on the east side.Standard breakfast items, drinks and coffee.The hook for this place is the location, the staff is friendly, menu is simple and there is seating on the outside to watch the foot traffic.We come here after paddle boarding for a couple of hours on the bay and we'll come back here because of the location.This place gets popular during the morning and brunch rush so getting there early is the key or be patient.This place hits the spot if you are looking for nutrition for breakfast or brunch and you get here early then you are in luck. The challenge is getting parking anywhere that is legal, especially on the weekends or during the summer. Parking near the beach gets impacted.As far as the food, it hits the spot and staff is friendly and the short order cooks are able to crank out the orders within 15 minutes so that is a plus. Everybody has different taste buds but if you are hungry after a day at the beach this place will satisfy your appetite. My friend ordered the pancakes and I was impressed by that dish. I had the breakfast burrito, it did the job. My wife ordered the cousin scramble, it did the job.

Adorable cafe only 1 block away from the boardwalk.They make their bread in house and the homemade salsa was amazing.Our cashier was very friendly and helpful.Food was very good!

We love this place. Food and drinks are great. There's just once suggestions I would give because customers don't seem to understand to not block the door way which up the location of your menu and stop/ wait here to order. Hopefully people stop at the wall instead of constantly blocking the door way and not allowing staff to walk through.
