We really enjoyed this place! We were in the area with our RV group and wanted to do some wine tasting. Whispering Meadows among others were on our list of stops.A large group of us overwhelmed this cute downtown tasting room and the staff stepped right up. You could tell they were used to getting rushed with groups as they gracefully handled us.Most of us did wine flights. Their presentation was really cool. For $15, we got 6 generous pours in mini-wine glasses set in a vertical wine-tree. So cool.I've found most wines in this area to be on the sweeter side. A bit too sweet for my taste. Yet, there were 3 wines (Choctaw Avenue, Whisper and Something to Talk About) we tasted here that we really enjoyed and we bought bottle of some of them. They also have a huge selection of wine and lifestyle related gifts and items in their store. The owner and staff were delightful. Check this place out when you're near McAlester, OK.

I love going to wineries. This one is just off the Main V Street a couple of blocks from the courthouse and it's helping to revitalize downtown. I really enjoyed their wines. We got a flight to share so we each picked 2 off the six (there were 3 off is) and then we shared. The tasting room has so many cute things to buy I could be there for quite sometime. I got an adorable tea towel.

Everything we tasted today was excellent. 12 wines. Wild child was super duper sweet and should be served on pancakes but other than that. Everything was great. Very cute shop. Good ambiance. Love everything about this place.

Who would have thought McAlester, OK, mostly famous for a prison rodeo, would have a winery this interesting? A flight of wine was $15, which I thought was high until I saw the size of the pour. This is a tasting where you might consider having a designated driver. Along with the wine you get chocolate and crackers to clear your palate. For people who haven't read my wine reviews, I'm not an oenophile by any means. I know what I like and it's normally sweet. I find most expensive, snooty wine tastes like drain cleaner to me. So readers of Wine Connoisseur probably won't like what I like. That being said, I really liked Wild Child. The bottles are not inexpensive, I paid $21 for my bottle. Whether or not you buy a bottle afterwards, the tasting is well worth the money,

My husband and I had to make an impromptu trip to McAlester today and decided to check out Whispering Meadows. The location was easy to find, the decor was delightful and the young lady who served us was very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. I am not a wine drinker, preferring reislings to the dry cabs my husband enjoys. I tried six wonderfully sweet wines for $5 and bought two bottles to enjoy at home. We will be back with our son and daughter in law to have a more elaborate tasting soon. While we were there we asked for a recommendation for lunch. She suggested the Urban Wine Works across the street. Check out my review of it!

Wow!!!! I really was not expecting much from a winery in McAlester.... I was definitely impressed. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the wine is more than impressive, and the shop has a lot of unique items not seen in most wineries. I would definitely recommend a quick trip to downtown McAlester and Whispering Meadows Winery.

I love this place. You can taste 6 wines for $5 and the customer service is great. I'm not a wine drinker normally but I left with two bottles both Oklahoma native wines. I can't wait to be back next year!!!! Cute little wine acccessories, gourmet foods, and lots of smiles.

They came to the BlackBerry Festival, and while I think they may have made the wine I liked most last year that my wife bought me, I'll never know for sure. My wife and I waited for 30 minutes in line for tasting, and the guy we were nearest ignored us the entire time and only served the people next to us. It was so disorganized and I was frankly appalled at how little care the workers seemed to have that we were interested and not being served. Since I couldn't taste, I didn't buy, and I won't in the future with terrible service like that.

This was my absolute favorite on my visit to McAlester. The staff was awesome, very helpful, and made you feel welcomed. The wine is absolutely the best. I did a tasting and loved it all. Also they have a large variety of items in the store to choose from. This winery as at the top of my favorites.

We came in from Tulsa to see the workings and try the wines. We tried several tastings which were ok but the woman didn't explain or give us any information/history of the wines. We spent over $100 by drinking flights & single glasses of wine. There were four in our group & no one else there but she would only give two people a tour. Most vineyards we visit are very knowledgable and pleasant. Sorry but I wouldn't recommend this trip!
