Worst place to live ever. The pictures online are completely deceiving. The apartments are nothing like the pictures, except for the appliances in the "upgraded apartments" they are the only accurate portrayal of the apartment. After driving seven hours from out of state we arrived around 4 oclock on a friday of a holiday weekend. The first apartment we had was horrible. It was dirty and everything was old and outdated, the carpets were stained and the a/c did not work. We asked if anything else was available. They had a ground floor "upgraded" apartment (which stated online includes wood floors and new appliances) that they took us to look at. We were told it had upgraded appliances and brand new wood flooring. The carpets smelled like wet dog and urine, besides that it was better than the first one and we were desperate. After A LOT of elbow grease and cleaning and febreeze it was half way decent, at least to get us through the next nine months, or so we thought. Our upstairs neighbors had two large dogs and a puppy that they would let go to the bathroom on their balcony which then in turn fell onto our porch. Even after realizing someone had moved in they continued to do it. I called repetedly to the office complaining about it at least 4 times. Two months passed before they finally stopped, and then they decided to lock their dogs in the bathroom at ALL hours of the day and night for HOURS on end. I called each time it happened to the office and also the courtesy patrol. It lasted another four months before the office finally did something about it (these people also had no pet deposit and they never told the office they had pets, I was also not the only person to call and complain about them). When we moved in there were holes in walls, the toilet didnt work, the door knob never latched and our hot water heater didnt work (all things that should have been fixed prior to move in). After that our next up stairs neighbors were not bad at all (young kids who drank and partied but I can handle that over a barking dog). We bought a carpet cleaner and cleaned the carpets FOUR times during our lease and before moving out. Now after being moved out for Three months we get a call from collections that Twin Creek sent us to collections for FORTY dollars. When we tried to pay the forty dollar utility bill, back in august, the utility company credited it back to our account and when we called asking why they told us that the apartment complex takes care of the last bill and then will bill us, or in all reality they just send you to collections because they are too lazy to actually contact you. They had our forwarding address, My phone number and My husbands. We never received any calls or letters trying to collect the forty dollars. They charged us for cleaning and damages, but when we signed all our paper work when we were leaving they said everything was fine and we would be mailed our deposit once the paperwork on their end was done. Do not rent from this complex or company, It will be the worst mistake you ever made, and then youll get sent to collections over a ridiculously small amount. I will never rent from another carlsbad company again.
