Golf is my passion so 3 stars may seem a bit critical for city course, but it is honest. Starting with the driving range - it was very overgrown. I had to borrow some long tees to get over the unmown grass. The practice putting green by the number one tee is worthless for a flat straight putt, but it is good practice for the undulating greens that await you on the course. The course is set in the middle of very mature oak trees. It really is quite beautiful. Don't let the short distance of the course fool you because it can be very punishing if you spray the ball at all. There were quite a few areas around the greens that were burnt from last years ice storms which makes the short game challenging. The greens were in good shape overall but there was a lot of poa annua making difficult to keep those slow benders on line. Ultimately, for less than $50 for a weekend fee I recommend this course. Good Luck * Hit Em Hard - Hit Em Straight!

Oak Tree Splendor in Southeast OKCI love this course, however, don't be seduced by the short length and pastoral oak tree splendor. Trosper Park has teeth and claws. Well-managed and well-maintained, it is only 6,601 yards from the blue tees and 5,963 from the blancas - but these are simply numbers. With elevation changes and prevailing winds, you must hit golf shots. I have played this course countless times since the 60s (yes, I'm that old) and Trosper has always had exceptional green complexes. About 20 years ago they redesigned the course, rerouted a few holes and rebuilt the greens so they are undulating and sloped to challenge even the most confident short game guru. Should your approach miss you may find thick Bermuda rough shoulders and a pitch that requires your full attention. Trosper bunkers are somewhat problematic because, with every rain, many are washed out and unplayable (like aquatic ant farms). Strategic advice: avoid the bunkers. Maybe, to improve playability and reduce maintenance, management can bury some of them and plant grass? The opening and closing par 5s are not long, but they will eat your lunch. Set your ego aside and resist the temptation to "go for it" because that is the test you must pass. I trust, like me, you will enjoy the legacy of Trosper's subtle beauty and return with friends for many memorable rounds.

Nice course for being city owned/run. The course is pretty nice and well kept. It all started with walking in and seeing if there were any tee times available. After being turned away due to it being busy on a Saturday, we decided to head home and try another day...We got back into the truck and were backing out of the spot when someone comes knocking on our window. One of the employees actually took the time to walk all the way to the parking lot and told us someone had just cancelled and we could have it if we were ready to go in 15 minutes. That right there impressed me. There were a lot of par 3's here which kept things interesting and I want to say 4 par 5's. Every staff member we met was friendly. They had a drink cart going around selling drinks for insane prices. My main complaints were: 1) Lack of cold water on the course. They attempted to remedy this buy putting large water coolers along the way.2) Lack of "adult" beverages for sale (I play better after a drink or two lol).3) If they are going to have a 5-some playing, stagger the tee-times to prevent back-up. We spent an INSANE amount of time waiting on two groups of 5 in a row in front of us. Happy Golfing! Watch out for the 18th hole, it's a doozie!

Very trashy course, not well kept at all. There were so many mesquites we could not take it. After I told the guy at the counter the ball Machine took my $3.50 he laughed and said " ya, it will do that". Then refused to give me a refund!

Walk into the prison and there is very little to no product to purchase. The guys behind the counter didn't acknowledge my presence until I walked past them 3-4 times. All of them were employees as well. When you call the shop they are not friendly and sound like they would like to be anywhere else doing anything else but working there. I can remember the days when that was different there. Sad to see it that way.
