First official review of the year! Tim's is a hidden gem! The staff is helpful, kind and funny! They really like people here! The diner is nice and clean and plenty of seating. I had one of the specials for that day and man it did not disappoint! Two generous size catfish filets, fried okra and green beans with a homemade dinner roll... deliciousness in every bite! The service was excellent, the prices are great, the food delicious, and I'll be going back... soon!

I am glad to see that Tim has at least had the courage to add something of his own to the menu.It took me a while to figure it out but I finally realized that Phil Hughes was an idiot all the way around. It really perplexed me how he seemed to hit it out of the park on things greatly above his own intellect and badly missed the mark on the most basic fundamentals of doing business. The reason for this is because he never made a real personal contribution to the diner's success. Any areas where he hit it out of the park was because that was how the previous owner ran the business.Any success that Phil's experienced was really just riding the coat tails of the preious owner's success. He cultivated a toxic, unhealthy working environment and allowed rampant bullying and verbal abuse where customers could hear waitresses and other employees being cussed and talked to like they were dogs. The amount of pain and suffering I endured because he simply refused to believe that there was something in the business that I was seriously allergic to even to the point of creating deep and painful gashes in my hands and making the surrounding skin stiff enough to actually cut somebody and draw blood. But no he swore that it was something I was intentionally getting into at home. That was his level of stupidity because for somebody to intentionally endure the hell I was suffering would have been the equivalent of somebody intentionally giving themselves 3rd degree burns. It took several months of being away from Phil's but my hands did finally and completely heal. If Phil were any measure of a man, he would at least apologize and try to make amends but with such a low IQ, that is probably beyond his comprehension. No Tim, you make it Tim's, don't make it Phil's as you would simply become a watered down, regurgitated version of the owner Phil bought it from and just shadowed his success nothing more than mimicking that owners success. Don't be the coward Phil was and never, under any circumstances allow another Mario to run the place so far into the ground - another of Phil's great blunders and complete failure in basic business operation. He knew what Mario was and passed him off to you anyway.I am giving you 5 stars simply based upon what people have been telling me about the place in recent months. They say you turned it around.

Gravy tasted like powder from a box, roll was not scratch. Service was basic, super basic, almost annoying but still tipped 25% because that is how they make a living. There was no ambiance, kinda dingy feeling, honestly.

We stopped in Tim's for breakfast since we were in the area. It's a typical diner with a lot of regulars. But the prices are great! As we arrived we were greeted by a waitress who seated us at a booth. We ordered a cinnamon roll to start. It came out warm, with the icing melted all over (and it was huge)! Can't be beat for $3.50. We also enjoyed breakfast meals, which came with hash browns along with a biscuit and gravy. If you're in midtown and looking for traditional breakfast in a diner atmosphere, then Tim's is it!

My curiosity has lead me here to solve the mystery on why Tim's Diner is still Phill's Diner on Yelp. Tim is a long time customer of Phill's Diner. Phill sold the restaurant to Tim after owning the place for 23 years in 2020 when COVID hits its peak. After buying the place, Tim has never bothered to change the name on Yelp but the name has been changed to Tim's Diner on Google. The best thing about this diner is all the original staffs continue to work for the establishment bringing over their experiences as well of plenty of attitudes. All the employees are a little of "older" age and I love that. The only thing I don't like here is the tip system. You pay at the cashier in the front who will ask you if you would like to add a tip then the cashier would add a tip in for you and you don't have to sign anything. I prefer if they just charge me for the amount and give me the merchant copy and I can add a tip in myself. The way they're doing it puts pressure on their customers to tip. This diner has Tim's $8 favorites menu which is one of the best features, making breakfast very affordable. The food is delicious.
