Thunderbird Lodge

If you need to stay in the Norman area, make sure you stay at the Thunderbird Lodge!! Mel was so incredibly kind and called us prior to our check in and gave us recommendations for dining and activities. We stayed in a room with 2 Full beds, the beds were pretty comfy. The room was incredibly clean!!! You can tell they put hard work into making sure each inch of the place is cleaned and prepped for each guest. In this trip We've visited 13 states, and used multiple hotels and restaurants stop bathrooms.... The ThunderBird Lodge by far had the BEST toilet paper we've used since being at home. Small detail? Yes. Big difference? holy CRAP (no pun intended) yes! This was our first time in Oklahoma, and Mel made sure to let us know about tornado warnings and what channel to watch the storm on. She was very concerned about our safety, and made sure to notate which car was ours and which ones didn't belong to guests, to eliminate sketchy people and keep the guests safe. There was also a cute little cat that roamed the parking lot and let us pet him. A really great stay and really great atmosphere!

This place is a total gem! Mel the manager is essentially the kindness, most competent person imaginable. She went above-and-beyond in every way to make sure our stay was great (even brought water bowl & treats up for my pup!). Some things to keep in mind:- it's an older place so don't expect "fancy" furnishings, but everything is extremely well-cared for, clean, and thoughtfully arranged- the overall grounds are fun to roam around--make sure to visit the gazebos and pool area turned into dog park! - they are updating some things like the TVs and making it even more dog friendly (it's already extremely dog friendly!) so stay tuned for more ...We'll be returning next time we're in Norman for sure!

Loved this spot. Really cozy beds. It was pretty quiet, especially considering how close it is to the freeway. We found all of the staff very kind, and they take covid very seriously. Keurig in the room. Also, they use good toilet paper!

This is my second time in Norman but by far the nicest, friendliest place that I have been to. I stayed at a big chain hotel last time and spent a lot of money on a room. Thunderbird lodge is just as comfortable, cleaner, friendlier, and a very reasonable price. Look no further. This is the place for you, just make sure you save a room for me. I'm coming back for several more trips. Can't say enough about the office manager, Mel. So helpful and just a smile on her face all the time11/8 what can I say that I haven't said before? My third trip to Norman and I love this place. I've stayed in hotels near Stanford university in CA and paid $400 a night and not as clean or comfortable as Thunderbird lodge. Mel, the front desk manager, is always so nice even though I arrive at one in the morning. She puts on a smile and acts like it's noon. Cannot recommend this place enough!!

Great customer service always asking and checking on the tenants making sure they are safe as well.

It was mostly empty. Felt like the place was hanging on by its fingernails. Not a good vibe. The room was adequate but I'll never stay there again.

Mel is beyond amazing. I was looking for a place for me and my dog to stay while passing through Oklahoma and I'm so glad we picked this lodge. Great price (only a $15 pet fee) and the best customer service. We were treated like family. The rooms are basic but very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Such a great place! The staff was super kind and helpful. They constantly checked on me and made sure I had everything I needed. Very friendly. The rooms were nice and I definitely felt safe there! Highly recommend!

I will definitely stay here next time I'm anywhere close. The mgmt is very serious about quality and cleanliness. Newly remodeled from what I saw and very reasonably priced. Also very friendly.

Its an okay place if you don't mind very old and run down hotels. Old 90s model TV and very worn carpet. Pool was empty of water in mid July which was a bummer. But it was clean and the beds were very nice. Luring coffee maker. Front desk girl was super friendly. I'd give maybe 3 stars but price online was cheaper than what we paid which was almost 90 bucks after tax :/ Could have stayed in a nicer hotel for that.
