The Mule

We attended a matinee showing of A Christmas Carol at The Plaza and The Mule was the perfect way to end a wonderful day. Kelsie was the perfect hostess and deserves recognition for taking such great care of us. The restaurant is one large room without separation so I can see it being noisy when the place is packed. It was fine for us but we were eating very early. We started with Bacon Cheese Fries and Fried Green Tomatoes. Both were fantastic choices and the pile of fries delivered was great for sharing among the six of us. Two of us chose The Burger. It was a terrific choice and delivered with more yummy fries. Two people ordered salads; Chicken Caesar and Spinach Salad. Both had fresh greens and were tasty. The last two meals were F.Y.D.H. and the Chicken Bacon Ranch which is a wrap and from an offered bite it's what I'll order when we return. The onion rings were the only thing that weren't a 10. The breading was more like a fish and chips breading and was just too doughy. However, that's a personal preference. We ended the meal by sharing a Tower of Power dessert which is Oreo cookies and ice cream, a combination made in heaven. If you only have time for dessert, this is worth your time. The Plaza District is walkable and full of quirky shops that are worth exploring. The large murals are Instagram worthy and are the perfect backdrop for Facebook posts.

Stopped on a road trip on an early Sunday afternoon. The placed was packed with a 15 minute wait for a table, but I did manage to find one open seat at the bar I immediately ordered the cheese curds and took suggestions for an entree. The Macaroni Pony was immediately recommended with a side of onion rings. The cheese curds arrived quickly. The serving is definitely shareable and comes with a house made ranch and a small side of tomato soup. The cheese curds are very airy and tasted great. The tomato soup and ranch were a welcomed edition. The macaroni pony is an award-winning sandwich and I can see why. This is one power packed sandwich! The pulled pork was juicy, and the pickle was an excellent surprise in the middle. The Mule has a ton of local guests. They even allow you to buy a future drink for someone and put it on the board by the bar. Great atmosphere and service! I would definitely recommend if you're cruising by Oklahoma City on I-35. It's not too far off the interstate.

It is large place with bar. The food is top notch. My sandwich was out of this world.They have decent bar. Friendly service.

Great spot, in a cute area for a quick lunch. Reasonably priced with large portions...and unique sandwiches. Parking can be tricky, but there is a pay to park lot not far. Just pay, park and go....trust me! ;)

Excellent service and great salads and soups - got the spinach salad as well as the tomato and black bean soups, which were great. Service was very attentive and relatively spacious interior with plenty of seating. Definitely recommended!

Really enjoyed our lunch today! First time coming during day so parking was great! That's the only reason not to come on weekends. Service was great. Food even better! Ordered Cortez and just loved. Large sandwich short rib meat on Jalapeno bread. We also had the Caprese which was so yummy. It didn't show on current menu but she said they could still make. It's a sun dried cheesy heaven.Sweet potato fries good. Okra we requested crispy.The cutest thing was the child's cup with a plastic supply lid. I have never seen this before. We did ask for a so cute stretchy straw that he just loved.This is a place we will start going to for lunch, for sure.All sandwiches are so different and on such good toastedbread..Sweet tea good and came in a jack ass cup....lol

We came in right at lunch on a Friday, so we didn't expect to be seated quickly, but we were able to get a patio seat right away. It was approaching fall, so a little chilly yet, but also still a gazillion flies to fight. I do wish they had those fans on the patio that keep flies off your table. I ordered the Fancy Pants and onion rings and my husband got the Macaroni Pony and fries. We shared the cheese curds. I liked everything I had but nothing stood out as amazing. We would go back but maybe not in a hurry. Decent lunch place in atmosphere and food quality.

Try the Okie Poutine! You will not be sorry. It is a delight. Also my drink was bomb af too.

Great place for great sandwiches. Great service and cordial staff. Get the Pony boy, and tomato soup.

Not impressed. This place has dropped in quality substantially. Food is mediocre at best, if not poorly prepared. Definitely overpriced. The staff all seem 100% miserable; they're abrupt, cold, rude, awkward, emotionless. Complaints about food quality, such as food that should be hot but is ice cold, results in remade food that is purposefully inedible--a kind of "us against the customers/customers are the enemy" vibe. Manager was the only professional person there. Won't be back for the foreseeable future. Other, better places in the area.
