The Mule Edmond

When visiting OKC/Edmond, The Mule is a MUST!!!!! I had the pleasure of tasting the macaroni pony years ago and I am still hooked! I went around lunch time and it was fairly busy but I was able do able to grab a seat at the bar. Since I was "on vacation" I of course had to try one of those tasty OK beers they had on tap.....Iron Monk Velvet Amber was a winner. I will say their cocktails also look delicious. I started with the fried green tomatoes.....delicious but honestly, should have went with the cheese curds. To my surprise, I decided to try something different. Went with The Cortez. The short rib was flavorful and melted in my mouth and the jalapeño cornbread was BOMB but....overall it was just blah. Next time I may ask if I can add mac & cheese to it. Probably would have elevated it for my taste. I also skipped on the grilled jalapeños so who knows, maybe I messed up on that one. Overall it was a great experience as always. The bartender was so sweet and attentive!

The ranch dressing is so good! The cheese curds are also amazing. I love the side dishes but haven't really found a main dish I felt was good. The service is OK, it is a hot and miss whether you're going to have an attentive server or not. There have been several times where I felt ignored. The place is like a diner feel and the ambiance is is more of a quick meal but bit by any means fast food.

Both of my experiences here amount to just okay. Okie poutine is pretty good. Worth trying once but not something I would seek out. Flavorful cheese curds. Gravy isn't super strong or heavy which works in its favor. Fried cheese curds were pretty gross. Greasier than state fair food, many of the fried balls didn't actually even have cheese. The grilled cheese appetizer was pretty disappointing (literally 2 pieces of white bread and maybe 2 pieces of American cheese).Tomato soup was actually really good. I'd recommend trying that if you go.CBLT was good but wasn't really anything special. First time I went, I had a great time sitting at the bar. The bartender was nice and willing to chat or leave me alone so shoutout to him. Was pretty much always available if I needed something. The vibe was great, esp with the decorations behind the bar. Second time I sat outside and service was poor. The girl who was waiting on my table seemed to be teaching a new waitress so that could affect things, but she did not involve the newer waitress at all and was pretty rude when speaking to us. We waited for a while after eating for the check and a box. We also asked about happy hour prices and ordered drinks and apps. We were surprised by how big the appetizers were, but at the end realized that she gave us the happy hour drinks but two full size appetizers. Then she explained to us that happy hour appetizers are smaller and she couldn't take them off the bill, even though that is what we tried to order in the first place. I guess I should've asked when they arrived so it's partly my fault!

Better than it looks! Go in ns five them a try, it's a calm & relaxing vibe with daily soup & entree specials.

Great lunch menu and service is excellent. Ruben is great choice and soups are good choice. Could be loud at times when busy.

You won't be disappointed when you try this place! All of their sandwiches are so good and they don't skimp on the ingredients which is always a plus. They have more than sandwiches here but why would you get anything else? If you do get something other than a sandwich, no judgment, I'm sure it'll be great as well! Service was good and food came out pretty quickly considering how crowded it was.

Can't rave enough about the Mule's salads. It doesn't matter what you get they always taste fresh off the farm. My favorite is the Cobb. No pic available bc I gobbled it up before I thought to take pic. Service is prompt and courteous and ambiance has a lovely buzz of happy, hungry, thirsty customers with hard working staff.

Went on a Thursday night and was sat immediately. They have a great happy hour selection and always have the best sandwiches that are so unique. I was so filled by the end. It can get loud in there with music sometimes but other than that so awesome!

This restaurant has excellent sandwiches and their portions are massive. The poutine (listed as an appetizer) was massive and enough for a meal maybe - the fried green tomatoes appetizer was also quite good. I got the French Dip sandwich which was great - and you. An get a side like a salad or tater tots. Their iced teas are also excellent, and service was prompt and attentive in refilling those drinks. Spacious and cool artsy interior with stylish posters and decorations. Definitely recommended if you are in Edmond!

Whyyyy did I wait this long to try this Edmond hotspot?! The second I saw the Cortez sandwich on the menu my jaw dropped. Jalapeño cornbread with delicious short rib?! Um, YES.The Chef salad and kids grilled cheese were classics and the boys devoured them. Our server was a sweetheart and super personable. I didn't love sitting outside, but the inside was packed. Don't sleep on this place like I did! I'll be back soon to have another Cortez most definitely!
