The Links At Norman Apartments

Honestly the best place I've lived in Norman. Everyone and everything is nice here. Have not had a single problem with anything here. Not only are the workers so nice but the houses are so nice too. The area feels safe, everyone picks up after themselves, the houses are not built cheap which is surprising compared to everywhere I've lived in Norman. There is not really a single negative thing I can say about this place.

ROACHES -- The apartment I just moved into is infested with cockroaches. Spoke to the property management about it. They acted surprised about it and said they had just been in the apartment and had not seen anything and would spray. I just spoke to my new neighbor​ asking if they are having a problem and apparently it has been going on for YEARS and the property management was already aware of the issue. Do NOT rent here.

The golf course is in horrific shape. I have no idea ‍ who the greens keeper is but they sure don't know how to keep the green in good condition. A lot of the tee boxes are as hard as rocks so bring a hammer so you can put your tee in the ground. They also have bees flying around and it stung 2 of us. The golf course looks good from far away and that's about all I can say.

DON"T MOVE IN HERE! I can not wait to get out! They do not have a non-smoking policy. So, if ANYONE in your building smokes weed, THEN PREPARE FOR EVERY ITEM THAT YOU OWN TO PERMANENTLY SMELL LIKE STALE WEED AFTER LIVING HERE. They will not let you out of your lease for these reasons and will not discipline the culprit. I don't smoke, and the smell in my apartment is often so bad that i am sick to my stomach, can't work, and can't think straight at my apartment. Additionally, I have been reprimanded at work and school for smelling like weed BECAUSE EVERYTHING I OWN SMELLS LIKE WEED AND THE APARTMENT COMPLEX WON"T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I am stuck here till May, and I would not wish this on my worst enemy! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON"T LOCK YOURSELF INTO A LEASE HERE.

The gym here is big enough to obtain an entire full body workout and is a great size for this type of complex. Large pool available, and overall a quiet place to stay at even though it's mostly catered to college kids (albeit not all).

If you are looking for a nice quiet place to live in Norman, the Links at Norman is a great choice. The apartments are very nice and spacious, and are pretty well insulated to save heat and air. For living on a golf course and getting free green fees the rates are pretty reasonable. The clubhouse has pretty much any amenity you could ask for including a pool, hot tub, gym, tanning beds, sauna, restaurant, computer access, billiards, ping pong, and a lounge room with a fire place and tv. The walls in the apartments are not totally sound proof, but most of the residents seem to either be families or college students who want some peace in quiet making noise issues practically non-existant. The only downsides that I have experienced is that it is pretty far from everything in Norman (that is pretty obvious) and the gym doesn't have a lot of options for weight training. All in all it is a great place to live if you don't mind a bit of a drive! ***Supposedly there is about to be construction for building a Walmart right across the street. This construction will inevitably be noisy and not fun to drive through. I will post an update if there is any progress in construction.***

I was currently living in Pennsylvania and very nervous about moving to a state so far away without having first visited the area. I had to move here suddenly, and could not be any happier with where I chose to stay! I needed a place ASAP, and found The Links at Norman on Craigslist (yes, I was skeptical too). I looked at the ratings AFTER I already called the office and immediately paid a deposit because I was so happy with what they offered. Boy, am I glad I did NOT listen to the ratings! I have no idea what the previous ratings are referring to, honestly. This place is WONDERFUL!!!! I have lived many places over the years, as I am often required to travel with the jobs I have done. Every single person has made me feel so welcome and is so kind. For example, one time I had an issue with the wifi password and login, so one of the office employees was kind enough to come (in person) and help me resolve the issue. Another time, my garbage disposal stopped working. This issue was resolved by a very kind maintenance man, who not only knew my name upon arrival, but had the problem fixed within two minutes. I have never felt so welcome somewhere before. Oh, and did I mention the amenities?! FREE TANNING-----as well as pool (the kind you play AND where you swim), ping pong, sauna, golf, hot tub, club house for lounging, coffee and tea area (always stocked)........ALL FREE! If you know anything about these features, you will know why I am so excited that they are all included in the price you pay for the apartment. Let's talk about the price of the apartment.....I am in a two bedroom with a private, big balcony, with washer and dryer, full kitchen, cable/internet/water/sewer/trash, and MAID SERVICE WEEKLY!!!! All of those things, along with all of the free amenities........I must admit I was definitely skeptical when I heard and read about these features. No such place could exist, I thought. Boy, was I ever wrong! Next topic.......animals.......so many places I have lived are very against animals. I have never understood this, but unfortunately it is a fact of life. However, NOT HERE! :) Did I bring my dog? Nope! I realized that Oklahoma is home to kill shelters for animals, so of course I knew I had to foster a dog while living here. Was I nervous to ask if I was allowed? Absolutely! However, the office simply said "sure, we just require a pet deposit". Wow! That was so sweet of them, especially since I did not come here with an animal and they could have easily told me that that was not part of my original agreement. I picked up my sweet dog that very night, and the office employees were happy for me! I feel so comfortable walking my dog on all of the easily accessible sidewalks here. Like I said before, I have lived many places across the US and never once felt as comfortable walking around my neighborhood as I do here at The Links at Norman! I keep reading these posts about cars being broken into, and honestly, I am not sure where that would even be able to happen as this is a very bustling neighborhood. Unfortunately, sometimes crimes do happen (yes, I have also been a victim before), but this is why we acquire insurance and take necessary precautions. In my opinion, I do not think it is very fair to blame the apartment complex for a crime happening. Crime is unfortunately running rampant in the world in which we live, but this is no fault of The Links at Norman. My ONLY regret in living here is that I am not able to stay longer! I only wish I could transport the entire complex and all of the employees around the US with me as I have never encountered such a caring, courteous staff before in all of my history of traveling. Please do NOT hesitate to contact them if you are looking for a safe, pet-friendly, kid-friendly, peaceful neighborhood environment!

The lady who works in the clubhouse is extremely sweet! They have always been very kind! Overall the course is good for the price!

Nicely kept neighborhood. Quiet MANAGEMENT COMPANY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR HARDSHIPS. Kept telling me that it's our policy about everything we spike about, wouldn't budge , not even help due to schools being closed due to covid. Made us pay the STANDARD 3 month cancellation... they wouldn't budge. Way to be American!

Stay away from these apartments. The staff does not care about the residents at all, only the money! I had a problem with a resident & they refused to do anything. What the resident was doing is against the law. A person has the right to move out before their lease in this manner. Because of the office refusing to do anything the police are now involved in the manner. The apartments may look nice but the staff is the biggest problem! They need to be replaced. Do not waste your time looking at these apartments! There are better apartments out there, and the staff is much better than this here.
