My first time staying at The Ellison and along with The Ambassador Hotel, this will now be one of my go-tos whenever I am in OKC!I really like the location. It's right next door to Whole Foods/Classen Curve, and near a cute old town type neighborhood. Whenever I am in OKC for work, the closest exit I take off the freeway is close to this hotel, so it makes sense to actually stay here!Service at check-in was amenable, and I was placed on the first floor. My room felt a little small, but the bathroom felt spacious and there were two robes hanging near the front "closet" area. Compared to the room I had at The Ambassador, this room did feel like it was on the smaller side. I unfortunately did not have time to check out the gym or in-house restaurant, but will happily save that for next time!

I love love loved this hotel. Coming from LA area, I wanted something clean and alittle bit away from the "downtown side of Oklahoma". As I was researching hotels, I loved the architecture of this hotel. It was beautiful and the inside of the hotel, was so pretty. Very artsy, indeed. Details on point!Hotel staff were super helpful with recommending food spots and there is a cafe bar downstairs. It was nice to have a latte, a free newspaper, and do some work in the lobby area. The bookshelf section was favorite. I have never seen an art piece like that. Lots of goodies in the gym. Location was perfect and in the middle as I wanted. Daily cleaning and free parking. On the days leading up to my departure, I ate breakfast there and the lady was super sweet and helpful. I loved my experience at the Ellison! The only thing I wished they had... was a tote bag with Ellison and the hotel logo/ Oklahoma City, but they did not have it.

Our home, away from home while in Oklahoma City. We typically book the Writers Suite which is our favorite room. Although, we've stayed in the TallGrass King as well. The rooms are clean, beds are comfy and include with a nice large walk-in shower. The Writers Suite however, offers a nice living including wet bar, cool drawer, dual ac and television. A nice large comfy king including an exceptional bathroom with soaking tub & walk-in in shower. All my creature comforts are perfectly situated while @The Ellison: Whole Foods, Starbucks, Sonic and best in Okc shopping @Classen Curve. Although, you really don't have to leave this hotel with The Milo restaurant downstairs. This restaurant offers a fabulous menu. Enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner inside the restaurant or by room service. The Milo offers a large cocktail/wine menu and a friendly laid back bar. The staff is excellent! The hotel is exceptionally clean! The marketplace is nice and large.

The room are simplistic but detailed. Quaint but spacious. The hotel was very clean and well appointed to! The valet was great and so was the front desk!It was cold so I didn't get to check out the rooftop or The Milo, but will definitely make those apart of my next staycation checklist!

Every morning I woke up to the Whole Foods sign lol-Some staff were phenomenal others....could use more trainingPros:-The toiletries are on point and they have a eco friendly options-The housekeeping staff do a great job cleaning-The food is mixed, some things like the chocolate chile muffin is great but the crossiants are dry-Free parking-Near a lot of shopping, grocery stores, and restaurants-Near sightseeing places like the Cowboy museum or the Black Museum

The Ellison is a nice brand new hotel in the the Nichols Hill area of OKC. It is in great location with a Whole Foods Market next door and the Claussen Curve a block away. The hotel pays homage to the Ralph Ellison an Oklahoman and author. We weren't supposed to stay here. But, when a hotel in Bricktown couldn't deliver what we reserved, I immediately called the Ellison and made reservations. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by Robert, the valet, who radioed the front desk to let them know that we arrived. Check in was quick because of the hotels procedures. They gave us a 2 queen room on an upper floor that gave us a good nights sleep. The room was a little small for us, but was comfortable. It had everything we wanted including a walk in shower in the bathroom. The hotel had a rooftop pool with lots of patio furniture. The only thing missing was a firepit for cold days. It looked like they are planning on putting a bar out there in the future. They had a nice gym on the second floor that had lots of treadmills and weights for lifting. Lots of art adorned the property. The books in the bookcase on the ground floor with the face of a woman looking down was neat. Next to the bookcase was bar and the Milo restaurant where Top Chef finalist Josh Valentine is the chef. As much as this is a nice hotel, there were some hiccups. We did have issues with one of their employees. When I discussed the issues with Jennifer, the assistant general manager, she expressed her concern and immediately took care of us. Simon the morning front desk clerk was also nice and helpful. He was able to help with ideas of where to visit, and was very responsive to my request for more towels and other supplies. Because of Jennifer and staff, I enjoyed my stay here and learned all about Oklahoma hospitality. If in OKC again, I definitely would stay here again.

Overall stay was just okay. Room was nice and clean but the pool hours were silly since it's a roof top pool and you want to enjoy the beautiful night sky. It opened at 0900 which was okay but the pool was filthy my son in law had to clean out before we could even swim. Restaurant was a joke. Waited in line forever. We finally just decided to take to go food and bar tender acted like we were putting him out to take our order. I was told coffee would be put out at 0630 then it would be ten more minutes then that turned into 45 minutes. I wouldn't say our stay was worth the price.

Words cannot express how disappointed I am in this hotel or the fact that Marriott allows it to be part of their Tribute Portfolio line. This is a Moxy at the very best. The room is TINY. Good luck getting from the bed to the bathroom and we have no where to put a second piece of luggage. Worst of all, what was advertised as an in-room "refrigerator" turns out to simply be a cooler, a fact we discovered when $500 worth of medication spoiled.
