Parents beware. The model apartment is a sham. Maintenance is a joke. Multiple calls, emails and even contacting the regional director has yet to resolve our complaints. The front door has been this way since move in. No thermal insulation or security provided with this front door as is. The air conditioner was broken a week and finally repaired after multiple calls. Then we received a utility bill over $1000 split 3 ways between our sons. We can not wait to get our sons out of this apartment.

I am one of the unfortunate people to have been conned into signing a lease at the collective. Everything seemed great and reliable at first, but upon move in I realized that quality of housing shown during a tour is so much further away from the truth and reality of what living at the collective is. Every maintenance request or call initially ignored, until I ANNOY THEM 6 times to come fix my door. My door wouldn't open with my key, so I went to the leasing office to get help, or ideally, a new key. She asked me if I "tried the wrong door"..... like yes I've lived here for 8 months and forgot which room is mine, oops! It's really annoying none of our problems are taken seriously. However; the most disappointing aspect is the blatant disrespect from the people in management. The last management was terrible, but I don't think this new management is any better by ANY means. Not to mention the people living right outside of the entry/exit gate in the woods, getting trash EVERYWHERE. If you do your aspen heights or the "collective" don't let them con u into believing that the designated "show house" is anywhere close to as gross and unkept as every other house on the lot.

The collective property and staff was amazing! Most of these reviews don't tell you they took their space as "as-is" which clearly states you are receiving the unit as the previous resident left it... Anytime there was a delay in amenities or maintenance issues the staff would properly communicate! My neighbors flooded theirs and our unit and maintenance staff was nothing but fast and professional. Overall an amazing place to live if you're not an entitled brat!

do not rent from the collective at Norman. all they do is try and suck money from you. my Don moved out turned the keys into the drop box as the collective instructed. they can't find them all of a sudden and want to charge. they want to charge for normal wear and tear they wan to charge for spots on carpet. this is all being one at our expense do the collective can update apartments at our cost. their maintenance never shows up to fix issues. RENTER beware take photos on move in and out and get an attorney on retainer. This place is a scam

If I could put zero stars I would. Zero out of 10 experience living at the collective the apartments are super expensive and have the cheapest possible appliances, walls etc. our bills are insanely high for utilities, and the price of the place itself is insane for how crappy they are. I've been living here for 8 months and I wish I never signed a lease. The pool is NEVER open, it wasn't this summer or last, and the e-mails management sends to us are always rude and they are very unhelpful. DO NOT LIVE HERE OR LET YOUR KIDS.We had to wait over a month to get our dishwasher and drain fixed in the sink. after calling multiple times throughout that month they finally came and still didn't fix it! The collective sucks:)

This is the last place you want to live in Norman. You're lucky if maintenance comes after 5 calls. Management is awful. The pool hasn't been working for over a year, and each time there's a different excuse. Comparable to section 8 housing. Parents, if you want to save your kids a quite unfortunate living situation, don't come here. Speaking from a soon to be graduate, I am appalled living here. You get charged for the most minimal things, when the complex as a whole is an, excuse my language, shit show. Do not come here.

There is trash and dog poop all over the complex, everything in the apartments is made with cheap quality meant to break. It's also incredibly overpriced, I have 3 roommates and collectively we pay $2600. We could have gotten a house for that price. Maintenance doesn't come when they are supposed to, usually a day or two late. DO NOT RENT HERE!!

Beware!!! I do not move to the Collective at Norman. We went to move my daughter in her new apartment the other day and this apartment was disgusting. The apartment community had not done a thing to the apartment. Refrigerator was full of rotten food, trash everywhere, The carpets were totally soiled, dog poop and pee everywhere, powder bath toilet was full of shit, used condoms and drugs in the bedrooms, smoke detectors ripped out of the ceiling, large hole about the size of a soccer ball in the couch. We were all totally grossed out!!! We had to hire a carpet cleaning company to come clean the carpets that cost is $300. We all spent over three hours trying to clean the place so we can try to move in. When we went to the office to complain we were told that we got the apartment as is since we were moving in early. There was a lot of people moving in that day and were very upset with the conditions of the property. My daughter lived there last year in a different apartment and it was not cleaned either. Also the air conditioner did not work and was not fixed until a week later. Maintenance there is awful. Read your lease carefully it also mentions that you're responsible for any pre-existing damage to the unit...Their electric bills are outrageous. A five bedroom runs each person between $100-$200 per month each with simply bill. Only reason we came back this year was because my daughter had five friends that wanted to be roommates together and she liked the floor plan. But this year was the absolute worst. I do not see how this company can stay in business and how they expect people to move into something like this. This property needs to be investigated.

Not only is the collective horrible but the billing company is a SCAM. i was forced to pay $400 in utilities for ONE month when i lived alone and could not use that much if i tried. my friends car got broken into FOUR TIMES because the gate was always broken. the staff was nice but useless because it's run by kids with no real assistance from adults. this place is a scam and the worst. in the heat of summer our AC went out and the gave us box fans and then FORGOT to fix our AC. this place is a nightmare.
