I really don't like giving bad reviews, but I am going to be honest. I just got done with a month long stay at this house, renting the "front room" and attending the Matthew Kenney Academy. I honestly am sad to say that I don't think this place is worth the money. A number of things I didn't like about this place. The stay here started out quite lovely, the owners giving me tips and suggestions on where to go for fun time away from school. Before renting here I was told over the phone that I would have access to laundry. When I arrived and had to do some laundry, asked where the facilities were and I was told that the owner, Cyn, does the laundry and charges by the load. Oh, but she won't charge you for whites if you wash them with her towels. "Access to laundry" to me does not mean working with someone elses' schedule and paying them to do my laundry! The owners were pretty laid back about taking the payment, I hadn't gone to the bank (they don't take credit card because it's a personal business I think)... so that was pretty cool. As the month went on though, my roomie and I noticed some really odd things. The owners would come downstairs and go into our rooms to clean and moved everything around! I had purchased some kitchen equipment and wanted to keep the boxes, even one box had attachments still in the box and she took the boxes and put them in the garage! I didn't have a clue where they were when I got home and went looking for my things - I didn't like that. This happened more than once. I don't mind if you tell me you are going to do that or ask me if I need the box, but to just move my things really bothered me. There were bugs in the room, large cockroach in my bed but luckily it was only a couple of days before I was done for the month or I would have left and went to a hotel! Spiders everywhere like crazy! So I was there during some tornadoes... and don't plan on being able to protect your car in their garage... they only have room for THEIR car, didn't really give a crap that I had a car I'd like to protect, not to mention newer and well maintained. By the last week, the owners only gave us two bath towels between the two of us girls....we had to ask for toilet paper and paper towels constantly. They took the kitchen towels to wash and never gave them back! Left the broom and dust pan for us to clean up the floor... I could have gotten better service at the hotel. Yeah maybe I would have paid more but at least all of my things would have been there when I came back looking for them and clean and enough supplies. The herb garden in the back was pretty cool. And the only good part about it was having my roomie who was also taking the Academy course with me.... she made the stay there worth it.

I've had such a great stay at the art house. I am a student at the Matthew Kenney Academy and have talked to a lot of the other students about their accommodations. The art house is by far the closest location, the cheapest price and the friendliest! Cyn is wonderful, the space is clean, cool and decorated very sweetly. There is a full kitchen with everything you need, sheets, linens and a nice bathroom. If you want to do your own laundry there is a place right down the street. The location is right by some really cute little antique shops and restaurants. It's literally less than a mile from the academy. I would suggest this place to friends and family alike. I think it's the perfect location for a student.
