These photos were taken over several months. This is what the place looks like at all times. Trash and piles of dog crap everywhere. You can find maintenance parked in resident and handicap parking or smoking somewhere but not cleaning up the trash. I lived there 2 years and paid 30$ a month for covered parking before the even replace the non working lights around the awning. My car might not have been vandalized if it wasn't pitch dark where I parked.

We've been waiting all day and I had to take off work because the patio door got hit by something and shattered and now I have a big hole where the door should be. Had to talk with 3 different people in the office only to be told call the emergency line if it isn't done before the office closes. No one seems to give a care about the need to do something about then glass door or the lack there of. Again not the place to live unless you just really need a roof over your head.

ROACHES NOISE TRASHThe manager, Amanda, is ineffective and dismissive, and the property is a dump, trash broken cars no grass. Moved into a roach infested apartment, took FIVE months before it was fixed. Trash everywhere, the maintenance man literally won't get off his golf to pick it up, if he can't reach it from his seat it doesn't get picked up. BROKEN CARS THAT NEVER MOVE. (Red car west side) SO SO SO SO Much noise. Have been trying to get help for four months on a barking dog, and don't even get me started on the POS that lives above me regularly waking me at 2am.

This apartment complex is TRASH. Management is TRASH. We applied here over three weeks ago and we're suppose to move in this week. Never got a call or anything, we tried calling and showed up a couple times but never got any answers. They never wanted to show us the apartment tour and when we went saying we were moving in this week they were acting surprised saying that they never approved us, YET THE LEASE WAS SIGNED BY THE PROPERTY MANAGER. So after discussing that we were taken to tour our "apartment". There was mold from the bottom of the bathroom sink and the apartment was not worth $670 per month. Mind you 670 is not bad pricing but not for a piece of sh**. Also every time we were in that office there was multiple residents complaining about how maintenance wasn't showing up to do their job. Save your time and your money!

One star is too much, if I could leave zero stars I would. Don't be fooled by their rebranding from "Ashford Northwest" to "The Arden" It's like putting lipstick on a pig. I've lived here 2 years and the water gets cut off suddenly all over the property for "maintenance" with no estimated completion time. Every time you call the office, they need to speak to a manager who never seems to be available. Maintenance may as well be nonexistent, lights and outlets in our unit have been out for months and nothing has been done. The emergency maintenance line is also a Joke, weather is predicted to be over 100 today and maintenance was supposed to be here at least a week ago to try to assess what was wrong with our AC. When calling the emergency maintenance we were told, "we know you're suffering, but we can't do anything until Monday". it's been a "we'll handle it tomorrow" for the past two months!! Lights outside of apartments don't work either, hope you don't trip down stairs. The gates don't work, even though they claimed they were working on it 6 months ago! Save your sanity and money and look elsewhere. This complex claims they've been improving since we've moved here, but there hasn't been one in two years.

I just moved in 2 weeks ago. 1st off, they showed me a completely new, remodeled unit on the tour, then upon move in they gave me a completely different older/more rundown unit of which I hadn't even got to see. (They also have pictures of new appliances online but my unit had a fridge and stove from pre 1980.) I had to ask to see my unit the day of the move in. Because they showed me a better one that had brand new appliances (my unit had 20-50 year old appliances.) They basically tricked me into renting from them by showing me a better unit and then switching them on me. Not to mention, they couldn't show my actual unit to me until right before they closed that day (the day of my move in which was a Friday) because they didn't have it ready. And the manager doesn't work Saturdays, So I couldn't even verify that everything was working before they closed for the day and had to wait until Monday to even talk to someone about it. (This was a Friday so I couldn't even talk to anyone about it until Monday because the manager doesn't work in Saturday.) So I couldn't even live in my unit for the first few days because the toilet, stove, smoke alarm didn't work. I had to stay on my moms couch. I still had to pay rent as if everything worked though which isn't right whatsoever. I still would be without a toilet (2 weeks later, if I hadn't fixed it myself.) they still haven't bothered to fix my smoke alarm, fridge that leaks and won't stay closed, or my kitchen drawer that was just hanging halfway in the slot without tracks upon move in and still hasn't been touched by maintenance. I don't even think they respond to maintenance requests anymore unless you call them about it multiple times until they get annoyed of hearing you ask. (That is if they even answer the phone.) I left voicemails that were never returned. When I moved in, the stove didn't work (although it was replaced fairly quickly), (everything else I'm still waiting on.) the toilet constantly filled up so you had to turn off the water after using it. And then after filing maintenance requests for it and the other issues, they took my filling valve out of the toilet without fixing it, leaving me without a toilet for days! I ended up having to fix the toilet myself because they never bothered to come back and fix it. They actually made my toilet worse by removing a needed part and not replacing it. Also, the whole unit was dirty and had not been properly cleaned when I moved in; there was little pieces of glass everywhere on the floor and in the carpet. So I am to worried to walk in my apartment without shoes on. I had to deep clean it before moving anything in which took hours. And it still has a musty smell after the deep clean. The smoke alarm in my unit didn't work upon move in and still doesn't work 2 weeks later, which I'm pretty sure violates insurance policy/law, not to mention extremely unsafe. Also, my fridge leaks lots of water and doesn't stay closed. I have put in maintenance requests for everything, 4-6 total of things that didn't work upon move in!! and only one was fixed. The other issues haven't been bothered with. I'm sure the reviews would get a lot better if the owner made an effort to address these issues (as well as other issues other reviewers have posted.)It is the sole responsibility of the owner to have enough staff to take of their residents, to keep the place/ appliances maintained/working, to properly train their managers and maintenance people correctly so they can do their jobs correctly and up to par. (especially these first two), and it's the owners responsibility to train managers properly so they can train employees properly, but that doesn't seem to happen. If your manager doesn't know how to train well enough/properly (which seems to be the case), then the owner themself should train employees to be able to do more than say "I'll have to ask the manager," Who may or may not know the answer, and may not call back. Sadly, this place either does not have enough staff or the staff is just lazy, or not trained very well or a mixture of both. I think it's both. Laziness, lack or training, lack of quality employees. The owner will for sure take our money and will respond to these reviews with a generic response and email link, but would it not be better to just address the issues we are all mentioning..?

If I could give this complex zero stars, I seriously would. This is the absolute WORST complex to live in. My car has been broken into twice now here. All the lights outside our buildings are broken and it's very dark everywhere at night. Maintenance is literally completely worthless here as nothing ever gets done and you have to learn to live without necessary appliances. Every single other resident we have met here absolutely hates it here and they are all moving out, if they haven't already. An elderly resident below us was handicapped and before she moved, she told us that her oven/stove did not work for a full year. Air conditioning is also a luxury in these apartments, ours has been broken over a year with no hopes of fixing it. This complex turns the water off more than any place I have ever heard of. In the winter, it is normal to not have hot water for multiple days here. It is also NOT a gated community as advertised, as the gates are broken and they attempted to fix them months ago and then just didn't finish it. I know of at least eight nearby apartments that have all flooded, some severely so. It is a common occurrence here. If you need to contact the office, you will have to call 30+ times to get ahold of anyone and I swear to you that is not an exaggeration at all. Save yourself the absolute nightmare and just don't rent here.

They gave me the run around when I was trying to sign the lease. Made me wait an extra two weeks for approval due to their own oversight, and because of this the price of the unit had gone up $80 some dollars. High crime area, lots of shootings at nearby apartments that have affected this apartment. Sometimes fights occur in the parking lot. There are no functional security gates and only one security guard who patrols at the pace of a comatose sloth.Maintenance guy is creepy and misogynistic, speaks to me and my roommate in a very strange infantilizing way (we are both young women). He always reeks of cigarette smoke when he comes, and i had to repeatedly note in the maintenance requests that he must wear a mask (IT IS A GLOBAL PANDEMIC.) it took probably five times for him to actually have on a face covering when he came to my unit, and even then it was not a covering that is approved by the CDC or WHO as an adequate filter for particles.Office seems very disorganized, upon move in I noted the dilapidated appliances (dishwasher, stove, and clothes dryer are both at LEAST 20 years old.) and was told by the young man at the office that I would be getting replacements very quickly, since an order had been made before I even moved in. This was Sept 2020, it is now February 2021 and I have not had my appliances replaced. I also must note that in all their materials, the Ashford / Arden Northwest claimed all apartments were fitted with new appliances. I wasn't expecting much, but I was definitely expecting more than what I got. The neighbors do not clean up after their dogs, the lawn all around my building is constantly covered in huge piles of dog feces, sometimes even on the concrete walkways. Gross!Inside the apartment is mostly fine, windows are very drafty though and for some reason the internet connections on all the walls were painted over, so in order to hook up our internet we had to use acetone and scratch away the paint.Basically this is not the place it seems to be, but it is not unlivable.

Do not move here. It's noisy, almost everyone smokes weed so you'll smell it in your unit even if you don't, guns have been fired multiple times, and the office staff doesn't know what they're doing. Maintenance just marks orders as completed without actually coming to look at anything. Changed my renters insurance and it took them a YEAR of built up insurance fees to fix it, but not before I got locked out of my account with no way to see any charges for the month. Which means I had late fees on my account from not paying rent, but since it's the last month we're here, I wasn't able to see the last month's charges. Called over and over about it, most of the time you get sent to their voicemail. There's almost never a manager to speak with, and the girls who greet you when you walk in aren't able to actually fix anything account wise. Trash everywhere. People just stopped picking up after themselves. Water gets shut off for "maintenance" with no estimate of when it'll be back. Loved this place two years ago. It's not what it was.
