Ted's Café Escondido

the service and food suck!i've never gotten food before my drinks ever. this place needs help!EDIT: Before leaving we received a refund. manager was friendly; i think some of the staff were on SUMTHIN, it wasn't just weed impairment. i hope individuals can get help and the restaurant too; as a whole this experience destroyed brand trust that was built for almost 2 decades. anyhow plenty of other options

I'm a Ted's regular, but this was my first time at this location. Everything went well as usual. The food was great, the service was attentive, and we walked away stuffed. I can always count on Ted's for a good experience!

Beef taco with beef undercooked. I would have been sick if I hadn't cut into it. Service was short staffed and overwhelmed. It seems each time we go to this location our experience gets a little worse.

Short wait due to us eating at busy time on a Monday night.... Got seated and chips and salsa were delivered promptly....Colin took great care of us. All the food came out tasty and hot! The food came out relatively quick considering the busy night.Thank you for being awesome - oh so yummy.When in the area in the future I would definitely visit again.They should all be commended!!!Kids are free on this Monday night! I really wish delivery apps would let you choose which Ted's filled your order. I'd pick the NW 68th location every day and twice on Sundays. Unfortunately we're stuck with this one. Ted's has been a family favorite for more than 30 years, and their salsa and queso are legendary. But the NW 150th location just seems to struggle getting orders right. Tonight, we placed an order on GrubHub. It wasn't until the delivery driver arrived 20 minutes later that they realized the iPad they use for online orders had died. In their rush, they forgot the sides to two of our three entrees and the chips, salsa and queso that should have come with them. If this were the first time... no big deal. But it's not. What's bad is I know I'll just have to hold my nose and order from here again. But I'll never be confident my order will be correct.

Ted's is always one of our favorites, and with the Edmond location still closed, this location let's us keep getting the great food.Letty provided amazing today, so amazing I wanted to write this review. We were well taken care of the whole time. She was extremely efficient without losing that personal touch.

Calyn is fantastic! We come into Ted's every week, and we always receive fabulous service. Calyn in particular does a phenomenal job of waiting on us. We ask for special items, and she always delivers it correctly and on time. Phillip, one of the store's managers, always takes great care of us. From finding us a great seat, to checking on us, and to making sure our meals are perfect, we always have a great experience.

UPDATE (11-14-2024): They replied here to follow up with them on the phone. But it's a complete scam. They use a canned message to reply to bad reviews in order to look like they care. When I called to talk about the experience, they only answer to put you back on hold again without saying anything. I patiently waited close to 15 minutes and was replaced on hold around 3 times with no communication.--------------------------------------Overall the ambience was good. The servers were kind. The item we got to eat was decent. That's where it ends in the good though. For what you get and it being Mexican food, the place is extremely overpriced! Irritated at getting charged for someone that I didn't ask for but it was put in my face without me knowing they charge for them. I have been to 100s of Mexican restaurants and never experienced having to pay for the chips and salsa. How it went. When we arrived, we told our waitress that we weren't sure if we were going to stay and eat. We made it VERY clear. She said that's okay, and let her know if we had any questions. They dropped off waters and chips and salsa and didn't note anything special about them. We did ask for them nor did they ask if we wanted any. We made the decision to just get an appetizers. Asada fries. Something around $17. More than almost of the entrees. We ate, and as we waited, the manager came over to explain to us they were going to charge us for the chips and salsa. I was clear to him why didn't they warn us about this before they brought it to us? He said, it was just how they run things and that if we had ordered an entree it would have been free. They charged us two times these things at $8 a pop. Ultimately they took one off and still charged us. The waitress; despite being VERY clear that we were not sure if we are staying had every opportunity to let us know they would charge us if we even touched the chips and don't get an entree. I will never recommend or come back to this place based on this experience alone.

Awesome place to eat! Got in quick even with a long wait time. Food was excellent and love the tortillas and chips/queso included!!!! Dessert was even better! Love it!

A generous score, Colin the waiter let me set and looked at me multiple times without even asking me my drink preference and we made eye contact multiple times. He gets zero stars. the food is always good.
