Ted's Café Escondido

Ted's is always on point. From the food to the service, it's great! I would recommend the taco salad; it's absolutely delicious. We eat here frequently and always enjoy ourselves and the food. Their cheese dip cannot be beat!

Went here for some appetizers and drinks. Our server Alicia was amazing and made our experience great. The hot honey mango margarita was awesome and the chips/queso/salsa as "the setup" was so good. The tortillas were also made in house and were great with the queso. Will absolutely come back.

Came in for dinner after an OU football game, so it was busy. But they offer online check-in before you arrive so our wait time was minimal. The service was quick and excellent, getting us the food right away. Ted's meals cost a bit more than you might expect for a Mexican restaurant but they include so many things in the cost that the value remains high (tortillas, sopapillas, salsa, queso, chips). Their fresh-made flour tortillas alone are worth a visit! I'll often buy some to take home to Florida with me at the end of a business trip. It's a favorite spot I keep coming back to!

The service is quick and all staff is friendly. I have never been disappointed with the food and value given. My favorite is the starter of salsas, chips, tortillas, vegetables, and queso all included in the meal. They even give you free dessert. I wish a location would open up in Texas so we could enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of Ted's.

My inaugural visit to Ted's left me thoroughly impressed. The service was swift, ensuring little to no wait throughout our entire dining experience. The authenticity and flavor of the food were standout features.A highlight for me was trying the homemade flour tortillas for the first time--absolutely head over heels for their delightful taste. The expansive menu caters well to families or groups with diverse tastes. Opting for a bowl, I was pleasantly surprised by its size, though I couldn't quite finish it. A testament to its goodness, I'd undoubtedly reorder it on a heartier appetite day.To cap off our meal, our waitress generously offered complimentary sopapillas for dessert--an offer we happily accepted. While I don't typically gravitate towards desserts or fried foods, the sopapilla was a delightful surprise--flavorful, sweet without being overpowering, and surprisingly filling. Though I couldn't finish my portion, I'd recommend it to those with a sweet tooth or a penchant for treats.Overall, Ted's Cafe Escondido is a solid recommendation for those in search of fresh, authentic Mexican food. The experience was a pleasant surprise, making it a place I'd happily return to and recommend to others seeking a flavorful and enjoyable dining experience.

Our server was wonderful, and we were seated right away. The salsa brought to the table looked like someone spit in it honestly. There was white bubbly stuff on one side of each cup of it that legit looked like spit. I wish I would have snapped a pic of it. So I didn't eat any salsa. I ordered the sheet pan nachos and they were massive, but the chicken was pretty dry, and there were a lot of chips without any toppings. And one tiny thing of sour cream and guac for that massive pan was a bit disappointing. I've definitely had better nachos elsewhere. Hubby enjoyed his taco salad, and they were willing to split the kids meal into two plates and I added a side so that was nice. Overall price isn't bad. Their complimentary tortillas are for sure the best part of the restaurant. Nice and thick, and warm. Very yummy. Not sure if I'll return, the salsa was really off putting and I was disappointed with the amount of chips missing toppings.

Excellent service, food was hot, quick and tasty! Salsa was awesome. Fajitas were terrific, and the enchiladas were spot on also. Drinks are spot on, refills on tea without asking. Service, value, we were stuffed!!

Kaden is a terrible front desk employee. Called like yelp states for parties over 9. So we did. She said oh we can't help do yelp hung up. Called manager. Came in checked in with Kaden. Now our reservation is missing. Fire this girl!

My microwave makes better Mexican food. The food here is the same as the clientele, no color or seasoning. Service is always good though.

Ted's has ALWAYS been one of our favorite restaurants in Norman until it changed ownership. We just ate lunch there two days ago and it was the WORST food we've had at Ted's. My chicken quesadilla was flavorless, dry and tasted bitter. The chips were stale and the queso had no flavor! We are so disappointed as I think we are done eating at Ted's! End of an era!!!
