Ted’s Café Escondido

Delicious food and consistently good. This location is a little worn down compared to others. The set up was slow coming out due to an issue with having the dishes. We had the best Mexican steak tacos which are always delicious.

This did not hit the spot like normal unfortunately. The service was poor and the food was just okay.

A good experience today, but perhaps not as great as usual. We had a bit of a wait to be greeted as we came in at an odd time of day (2pm). The set up was outstanding as usual with the best salsa and tortillas around. The entrees just seemed to lack a little something today, but overall we enjoyed ourselves, and we will be back.

The food was good. We had a problem with wanting to order a child's meal for someone who can barely eat because they have celiac disease and we're told no we could not order chicken tenders for her. Would've been nice if our waitress would've checked on us a few more times. There were eight of us she took our orders. Someone else brought our orders.She asked us if we wanted sopapilla, brought us our bills. We ran out of water and iced tea never offered a refill . We asked for boxes she never showed back up. This is probably the 15th time I've eaten here we live out of town not sure we'll go back.

I am happy with this place. I'm from California which makes me snooty with Mexican food but this is a great place. And fresh homemade tortillas!

Good TexMex if you're in Del City. Highly recommend to ask for the atomic salsa it has chucks of avocados. The beef taco was delicious. Service was nice as well. Portions are huge so if you're not a big eater I would recommend sharing.

The enchiladas were very tasty! My husband's chicken Ranchero was also very flavorful. The salsa, the beans, the queso, rice, etc... were sub par, thus only getting 3 stars

Everyone has been to Ted's! Food is still good. Plenty of cheese sauce, hot sauce, vegs and tortillas served without a question.We had 4 at table and all ordered something different. My Chicken Monterey was pretty good but they don't put enough melted cheese on top. So I asked for extra cheese. He brought a little bowl of shredded cheese that I dumped on top. I mixed in to get to melt alittle. Grandson orders a kids plain cheese Quesadilla , small but doesn't want anything with it. $5.99 price.So all went well until I get $70 something tic and notice they charged me $2.25 for my cheese.Definitely not worth that! He should of told me extra charge and maybe $1.00 would be acceptable. Heaven they give you so much extras and you know prices have gone up to absorb.Not sure if was just our waiter, but I gave him a little smaller tip. Did not feel the warm and fuzzy we use to get. He was young,, I MISS THE TRUE Waiters.Will remember for next visit.

Delicious! As a Texas native, I am a huge fan of Tex-Mex, it didn't disappoint! My boyfriend has relatives who knew the original founder of Ted's, I thought that was pretty cool! I really enjoyed coming here, service is super unbeatable, our server was so kind and very accommodating, he checked on us very frequently and some of the best service I've encountered! Refilled our drinks without even being asked, and always very kind. Complementary chips and salsa! I always struggle with trying to not get full off of the chips before my meal come, these were pretty great My boyfriend and I shared a steak fajita for two combo, which came with this super cute mini cast iron with our steak and super delicious caramelized onions. And gave us each our own plate of rice and beans, plus each of us got our own guac/cheese/sour cream/pico de gallo. Overall, the food was really great, both him and I felt like we could've even shared a steak combo for one and would've been really full! They give you a lot for what you order, super delicious!

Ordered take out today. The on-line ordering process is much improved from my last order a few years ago. The order was ready on time. The food was very good and the portion size was beyond adequate for the price. The order included extras such as salsa, queso, chips, and flour tortillas. I'm not an over eater, so this order will make at least 4 meals for me. Well worth the amount paid.
