I've got a breakfast buddy who relies on me for restaurant suggestions, so I found this spot during a search for morning grub. The location just east of I-235 and west of the Capitol has seen a number of tenants over the years, and because the exterior and signage are relatively nondescript it's easily missed. It's on the east side of Burger King. Because 23rd Street is divided with a median, you'll need to be on the westbound side to get to the restaurant.Inside is clean, but pretty bare. It gave me a sort of 1970's fast food vibe: clean, uncluttered, and unremarkable. That's totally okay, because we come to places like this to eat. This place seems to be known for its burritos and tacos. I saw a burrito come out for another guest, and it was sizable. My friend ordered one of the breakfast plates, and I chose beef and chorizo breakfast tacos. The food came out quick and hot. My friend's plate looked great, and he confirmed that everything was indeed delicious. My tacos were on the large side, and very flavorful. I'm always wary when I get chorizo because it can be really greasy, but this serving had just the right amounts of spice and fat. They served two different salsas: a mild red, and a spicy green. Both were good, but I found myself using more of the green. The menu and other reviews indicate the owners are Guatemalan in heritage, so the coffee was as good you might expect. The service was attentive, friendly, and helpful. My experience was good enough that I definitely want to try lunch. They serve menudo on Fridays and Saturdays, and offer mole on Fridays only. They're closed Sundays, and only open until 2:30PM. So if you want to grab some tasty fare without the lines you may encounter at some other spots, and you don't mind sparse decor, pay these folks a visit. Great food, great service, and great value.

Operating out of a pretty nondescript building on NE 23rd Street in Oklahoma City, Tacos Adonai is truly more than meets the eye. There's a drive-through that had no line, but I went inside to check out what it's like. The interior is spacious and clean (albeit empty the morning I was there). I ordered a breakfast burrito with eggs, chorizo, potatoes, and cheese. The staff made it fresh on the spot and brought it to the counter about 5 minutes later. Very quick and polite service. The burrito itself was great. Very large portion especially considering the low price point (it was only $5 and change). All of the ingredients seemed fresh and they were well put together--the keys to a great burrito. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent pupusas, tacos and flautas. Relatively prompt service from the window drive-thru as well! They also offer a variety of authentic Mexican beverages such as horchata, tamarindo and pineapple juice. They also give plenty of free side vegetables and hot sauce with the pupusas! Highly recommended!

Food and service are a 10/10. Corn tortillas are made by hand. Try the garnachas, the tacos, the soup and the breakfast tacos

The night before I had a craving craving for Burger King. I know blah right anyways when we were going through the drive thru I saw the sign for Taco Adonai next door. So we looked up the menu and thought we should give it a try in the morning. The next morning we did indeed come by and we were pleasantly surprised and impressed. The food was nice and fresh and tasty. Drive through was quick and our orders were right. Since it was through the drive though I didn't get to feel out the ambience of the inside but I would recommend.

Found this place via Yelp. Was not disappointed. Our group had tacos and papusas. The papusas were really good with lots of flavor. Also had some of the agua fresca. One of our members wasn't sure about if they would like the flavors and our server very kindly brought some samples to try before she ordered a full glass. Definitely will keep this on the list of places to visit next time I am in the area.

I had breakfast there last week. I ordered to go from the counter so I could see the actual restaurant. The dining room and kitchen (what I could see of it) were very clean. My breakfast burrito was huge -- scrambled eggs, rice, beans, cheese, shredded beef, and chorizo on what looked like an 18" tortilla. It must have weighed a pound and was delicious. A husband and wife run the place. They could not have been nicer. I'll definitely go back.

My friend and I had lunch there on a Friday. Not too busy, the staff was super friendly, food did not take long at all, great prices. I got the flautas which were absolutely delicious. I was able to get a mix of the beef and the chicken - both were great!
