Used to come here before I moved and now that I'm back I'm ready to make it my weekly food truck stop! Always love the steak burritos, tacos and recently asked for a fav recommendation from an employee, got the ham torta and it was amazing!! Look at this cheese pull!! And was able to visit a very nearby greenhouse while we waited for our food!

These tacos are AWESOME! The price, the authenticity, and the tacos!!! I had heard good things but hadn't made it there (it's on the corner of 24th and highway 9, across from Atwood's) and I finally stopped by on my way home to grab some deliciousness. The menu is super simple and straightforward, you can get tacos, burritos, gorditas, tortas (YESSS) and some other staple items. You pick your meat from carne asada (steak), pastor, barbacoa, carnitas, lengua (tongue), pollo (chicken), chicharron (pork skin) and I believe ham as well. I am a huge fan of tacos al pastor, it's usually a delicious pork and this one did not disappoint! I ordered 4: one lengua, one barbacoa, one asada, and one al pastor. They were all better than I expected but the lengua was FANTASTIC. Like melt in your mouth good. I know it sounds weird, but if you've never tried tongue I promise you it's YUMMY!! All of the tacos were super authentic, two small corn tortillas each and topped with fresh chopped onions and cilantro. They were served with both a red and green salsa-the green had some heat to it! They also put two grilled jalapeños in my box-they were hot and gave the tacos an extra kick! I also ordered a gordita de pollo-I'll skip this next time. It was still good but the tacos killed it. I can't wait to try the tortas. A torta is a Mexican sandwich usually with mayo, avocado, lettuce and meat. The ones here looked bomb!! My 4 tacos, a gordita, AND a homemade horchata was all around $10 with tip and it was A LOT of food!! I definitely recommend. Plus they were all super friendly and nice!! Looking forward to my next visit!

This parked taco truck at the corner of 24th and Highway 9 lives up to the hype. I arrived on a very cold day, but El Taco Loco was humming along. In addition to the several types of street tacos, you can get all of your Mexican (and Tex Mex) favorites filled with whatever meat you prefer: burritos, quesadillas, chimichangas, etc. The tacos were $1.50 and they are not huge, so order accordingly. I went with azada, pastor, and chicharron. All were served with red sauce, green sauce, and limes. While they were being prepared, I checked out the dining area. This is several picnic tables with chairs in an area of parking lot that's been covered in rocks. Then, they put a roof of sorts and some plastic "walls." It's definitely not much, but it is better than virtually every food truck I've ever eaten at. There are even lights hung, but as it was daytime they were not turned on. This place has a permanent dining room, which is more than 99% of food trucks can say. After about 5 minutes my tacos were ready. They're served with two small tortillas, raw onions and cilantro. Classic. My preference, in order: pastro, azada, chicharron. The chicharron was difficult to eat due to the sauce. That said, it was the largest of the tacos and still had great flavor. So, just because it was my least favorite doesn't mean I didn't like it. The beef and pork were marinated very well and they were flavorful. They weren't cooked to oblivion and retained some of their juiciness. Definite re-orders.In the land of Tex Mex everywhere, it was nice to find some Mexican food that's much closer to authentic. El Taco Loco is deserving of its accolades, and I will definitely be back.

You're not a true Normanite if you haven't made your way to this roadside taco truck. What better place for the most authentic tacos in town than in a gravel parking lot to the side of a gas station?! It's cash only, so come prepared. The concept is simple: Here are our 6-7 meats, now what form do you want them? Tacos? Burritos? Tortas? Quesadillas? Gorditas? Truly you can't go wrong. A few meats also come in flautas and chimichangas. Their escabeche (pickled carrots and jalapenos) are offered on the side of most items and are fantastic. They have a few bottled sodas, but I usually just bring my own drink (or go next door to the gas station for one). There is now a covered, enclosed seating area which is good for not-so-great weather days. I don't have anything else to say because it's simple, it's simply delicious, you should simply try it out!

I have driven by this truck almost every day for a year now and FINALLY got to try it with a coworker at lunch today. It's delicious!! I ordered a barbacoa gordita, steak taco and chicken taco for only $6. Note: the truck is CASH ONLY so make sure you have cash. The green sauce is so tasty and spicy (love!!!) I can't wait to pick up dinner later this week. The service was friendly and fast. We will be back again and again.

When I saw the stellar reviews for this taco truck, I knew that I had to stop by during a trip to Norman to try it out. I got the special shrimp tostada's and the carnitas and pastor tacos. The tostada's would have been a lot better if they actually included tostada's. I opened the foil package in anticipation only to see some shrimp and pico, no tostada's to be found. For the tacos, the meat was dry and not as good as other taco trucks in town. The flavor and seasoning were there, but the dry meat and dry tortillas made it disappointing. Maybe it was an off day. Maybe they had a new person working that day. But I probably won't come back unless I was in the area again. I won't go out of my way, sadly.
