I read the reviews and was excited to try the food. First upon entering its a quaint small business. The staff was friendly and from my vantage point I could see Mrs Stutts, in the kitchen, she wasn't very friendly when I asked about the lunch specials or the menu. I proceeded to look thru menu and a customer or friend of the restaurant took my order. She was very friendly and patient. I ordered the buttermilk pie, 3 meat combo and brisket sandwich for $24.Rib Meat was tender, the brisket just a lot of fat, sauce is nothing special and those baked beans and coleslaw were not the taste I'd expect from a barbecue place. I've eaten all over the world and the 2 star is simply for a not above average meal and for a buttermilk pie that was the star of my whole experience. I don't think I will ever go back but try it for yourself. May your experience be better!!i

Ribs: perfection! Also gluten free when served without the bread. Service is simple, you can order at the front got to-go orders or have a seat for table service. The food comes out pretty quickly. If you don't mind driving a little bit out of the way, and there is quite a bit of construction going on, you can have the best ribs that fall completely off the bone. The owner, Almead Stutts, will sometimes come out and talk to the customers. She is a real character! When I was there with the hubs, she was giving someone a hard time because he had lived here a long time and never heard of the place, she said, "did you know I was in the New York Times? Well it's right here on the wall!"She used to work for Wilson's barbecue, you know the " you need no teeth to eat our beef" guy. This place came up for sale and I guess people tried to dissuade her from running her own joint by saying it was hard and you would have to do this or that. She was not to be fazed by these naysayers and replied " Well, I'm already doing all that for Wilson." What ferocity, I wish I could be like that!I also took my cousin there and she loved it, she used to go to Reese's barbecue when she lived here on the 70s. She said it was just as good as Reese's and Almead accepted that as a compliment right away. Did I mention the ribs? The fat renders completely away and leaves you with a lightly smoked piece of meat candy that come clean off the bone! The place is homey and full of inspirational and family pictures. We will definitely go back!

Such a great place. Mrs Stutts is such a sweet lady! Cute little eating area too. The walls are covered in pictures and articles and she told me and my family all the stories behind them while we waited for our food. They've got phenomenal tender brisket and amazing bbq sauce that goes on it. Amazing slaw, baked beans and potato salad! Tasty buttermilk pie. Our to go order was out in less than 10 minutes and everything was delicious!!

Stutts House of BBQ is a North Tulsa black owned institution. The bbq today with delicious with St.Louis ribs, hot links and smoked chicken was very good. The baked beans were sweet and filling. The potato salad had just the right amount of mustard not to be a distraction. The Sunday Special included smoked chicken, cornbread dressing with gravy, green beans, croissant and blackberry cobbler for $12.99! My only complaint was that the smoked beef was diced so small I couldn't get a good bite of the texture. The place is small but Mrs Stutts and the patrons were all friendly.

The good:- Rip tips and beef!- The BBQ sauce (they have one sweet and one hot - which is a slow burn)- Baked beans were some of the best I've had in a while.- The service - Prices weren't too bad, especially for a BBQ place. The okay:- Coleslaw and potato salad. Not the best. Not the worst. The bad:- Chicken and ribs were dry.- The pickles and onions were bad. The onions tasted like they had been cut a while ago and was left in an open container in the fridge and had absorbed the taste of everything. Pickles were also weird tasting.- The pickles and onions count as a side. What the heck!! Other BBQ places give those as condiments.- They were out of buttermilk and sweet potato pie.

I ate at this place for the first time and my order was messed up. They ran out of potato salad when they only have three sides. I called my order in and I still had to wait a hour to receive my food. I ate here because it was 4 stars, but it's not. I will never eat here again. The food was not that good. I did not like the baked beans at all. There family pack meals only feeds to people when it comes to the sides.
