The location is nice being able to walk to everything that is in Bricktown or take the trolley to Midtown. The building and units themselves just feel cheap. The complex feels much older than it is and any repairs that have been made from past tenants are very apparent. The price point of the units is very much for where it vs. what it is. All of the finishes feel like contractor grade selections. There are several other properties in the area that cost a little more, but the property actually feels like you are getting what you pay for. Most of the first floor is intended for retail shops and the location has not been able to get anything other than a cookie shop and insurance company. So you are not even getting the benefit of having restaurants, bars, shopping, or entertainment in the complex like it was designed to have.Overall I there are better places to spend your money in the area. The way the steelyard is managed and maintained keeps it from ever feeling like a home. My family has felt like tenants are an inconvenient house guest to the staff. It's fine short term, but if you are looking for a longer term lease that's more than 6 months, you should look elsewhere.

Something to consider if you are an OU medical center employee or travel nurse and are considering the steelyard as you next place to crash for awhile. It is horribly loud and not conducive to a good night rest. I live in an apartment facing the pool. The pool parties are loud and can make it difficult for those working the night shift to get sleep. I work days and have been woken up around 2:30am to people singing karaoke at the top of their lungs. Unless you can get a top floor apartment I can't see how you can avoid loud neighbors. Try to think about those who walk on their heels or drop their books on the floor or the sound of dogs running across faux wood floors and learn from me... it's loud. It seems louder on those nights you desperately want to sleep And every scratch, walk, giggle or dropped weights echo in your apartment keeping you from falling asleep. The positive... it looks nice, walking distance to Bricktown restaurants and things to do. But, let's be real, after a 12 to 14 hour day... wouldn't you rather just curl into your bed and relax??

Don't move here! My worst experience with apartment complexes ever!First of all, Steelyard is ridiculously expensive for what you get. With this price you can go to West Village which is way better and fancier or Deep Deuce if you really want to be in this area. A lot of people (including myself) are moving out.Second, the management is terrible here. They literally have one job and they are not doing it right. My car rear window was smashed in one night right next to the apartment building. Not their fault. However, I approached them to ask if their cameras had captured the incident. They lead me on for a month. I called and emailed every day, asking if they could see the incident in their security cameras. After one month they said the camera doesn't cover that part of the building! Why couldn't have I been told that when I initially approached them rather than having my time wasted chasing down a video that I was lead to believe existed? Third, this month their payment system didn't work so my rent payment didn't go through. Now I have to pay $112 late fee!! I also just switched to a monthly lease. They told me the monthly lease fee would be $115. But then starting the second month it became $150. Why could no one tell me this? Fourth, all the windows were leaking whenever it was raining. They fixed it after couple of months, when all the books I have by the window were already ruined.Fifth, they're supposed to text/email you whenever you have a package, they rarely do.Sixth, Other basics are in addition to rent. For instance, parking ($35), trash ($30), and many other things like water, pest control or sewer are not included in the rent. I have lived here at Steelyard for over a year and this is my unfortunate, honest experience.

If you are looking to live in Downtown OKC, Steelyard is a great place to be! What sets Steelyard apart is the location. You are walking distance from The Criterion, Chesapeake Arena, and numerous Downtown entertainment options. They have great floor plan options, no matter what your living situation is. Their 2 and 3 bedroom layouts have very equal sized rooms, which was a huge selling point when living with roommates and can be surprisingly hard to find in a Downtown apartment. They also have excellent amenities (brand new clubhouse/gym, pool, dog park) that are very well taken care of and always clean. They also host many events to make the apartment complex feel more like a community. All around, Steelyard is a great place to live!

Lived here for 2 years. I dont have many complaints. Its downtown, so you are within walking distance of everything in Bricktown and you are right by a music venue, a comdey club, and several bars and clubs or restaurants if that is something you like to do. It can be a little loud, a fan or white noise flitter does help. Its cheaper than downtown rents in Seattle, but still a little pricey for OKC. Basically if you don't want to live downtown not the place for you, but if thats your jam and can afford it. Give it a try. I've met a lot of great people here at the pool and over the years.

I lived in a luxury apartment in Seattle, and my experience was amazing. I am from the metro area, so I thought Bricktown would be my best option. I will list my likes and dislikes below if you are thinking about living here.Likes:Clean, new apartments, with a lot of light If you have a situation where a fire alarm or carbon monoxide detector are out they come quickly to fix it, even after hours. Dislikes:They tell you there is an officer that lives in the building that takes care of things, that's BS, and they don't give you his number. If you don't want the noise of street traffic and you choose the inside area--pool or courtyard area, expect to hear loud speakers, drunk people arguing loudly, and basic people doing loud stupid shit at all hours of the night. They do not respect the common hour rules. I was given the preferred employer discount because I am either a teacher, nurse, firefighter, or police officer. I got a $25 discount on my apartment, but because I left a month early I had to payback all 11 months back in full. Shockingly enough, I am still a teacher, and still don't get paid my worth soooo...I now have to pay that back. What? Total Bullshit! I would recommend living closer to The Plaza or Paseo. Not here!

I lived here for two years. The first year went pretty well without any major problems, but the second year we had major security issues that the complex never addressed. Two times we had a random man wander in through a broken gate (that wasn't fixed after these issues), climb up the stairs, and sleep in front of our door. It happened once for several days and the complex did nothing about it. And then it happened again before we moved out, but even after addressing the fact that the gate was broken, it wasn't fixed as far as we know and we moved out in August. Because of this we decided last minute to move out. We failed to give notice by 2 days and were charged for it even though we had complained that it was because of safety reasons they never handled. I wouldn't recommend living here and we also did not receive any kind of compensation or reassurance that they would do anything to solve this problem.

No tornado shelter. This place is only a few years old. I'm shocked that anyone would build in Oklahoma and not have tornado shelters put in. You cannot receive packages here, must go to carrier facility to pick up. They used to accept packages in the office until COVID-19. Then they closed it down. People started having packages delivered to the mailroom instead. Now they have posted to carriers that they cannot do that. They would rather their residents risk their health going to carrier facilities than allow delivery on premises. I have complained to the management company twice and never received a response back. I feel like we have been left to fend for ourselves. The management company does not seem to care about our well-being.They offer an awesome concierge trash pickup, they don't tell you it costs $30 per month, so make sure you take full advantage to get your money's worth. You pay a parking garage fee and the doors break down regularly. Also, every day when I get home at 4 they are in an open position where anyone can get into they parking garage. Not well insulated, I can hear my upstairs neighbor's toilet flush, hear the washing machine running, puppies running across the apartment upstairs sound like bowling balls being tossed. When the city is not in shelter in place it is noisy all hours of the night. The apartments are cheaply built. Don't expect luxury living for the price you pay or you will be deeply disappointed. I sadly could go on but my thumbs are starting to cramp. :)
