I absolutely love this library! I have a little side business selling stuff online through ebay and other sites like it. I come here at least 3 times a week to print out shipping labels. The customer service staff at the front desk are always friendly and helpful. They all seem to enjoy their jobs and enjoy helping people. I would not be able to make my extra side money without their help. They truly go the extra mile. Aside from the staff, the programs, services, and special events at this library are fun and educational and most of them are free. They offer more traditional events like storytelling for kids but they also offer classes for adults where you learn some new skill all for a very low cost. .

I visited this branch on January 20, 2024 planning on attending a Yoga and Meditation Class someone I recently met at a doctors appointment told me about. As I understood it the classes were held each Saturday at 11:30 at the branch. I walked in the library, and went straight to the desk where 4 people were holding a conversation. Initially I was ignored, once I got their attention they were giggling and parroting my every word, one of them said I should go across the street, then they started parroting what was said. and giggling. Their behavior was rude, disrespectful, and disgusting. I walked away disappointed, and the safety officer asked me if I was okay, I told him I was not, and told him what I had just experienced. He stated he knew exactly what I was talking about, that the class schedule was changed, and then he walked me over to a huge information posting about the event I was speaking of. I know I'm wasting my time, as this is my second complaint about a totally different library. I guess I should lower my expectations, and just resolve to have a very unpleasant experience when I visit a branch of the Library system.

Great library! It feels recently renovated and acts like a community hub-love that! Kids get out of school around 3pm and this place gets hoppin'-- it vibrates with all kids of good energy and I love being here. Something about a well loved community library makes my heart sing. They offer a wide selection of books and the staff here are knowledgeable and happy to help. Use the online Metropolitan Library Card Catalogue (it works great from your smartphone as you are walking the library aisles) to easily locate the book or topic you are searching for. The staff can transfer a book if it's at another library location and you can pick it up in a day or two. The aisles are easily labeled, wide enough and the layout of the library makes sense. Library members can easily access iPads and a couple dozen computer stations. There are lots of nooks and crannies with chairs and tables so you can come here to study too (though it's not the most quiet after the elementary school kids get out from school).The check in/out system has been completely modernized since I was a kid. It's super easy and fast. Oh, and they have a drive thru book return that makes life a little bit easier, especially if you have itty bittys in car seats and don't want to drag them in and out of the car. It's located within walking distance of Parmelee Elementary School as well the new Southern Oaks Wellness and Learning Campus and Southern Oaks Park and Recreation Center. It feels like the synergy in this whole area was created intentionally. Check out this awesome local library location if you are in the area! February 2019

Very nice library. What really made it nice was my interactions with the staff. They were all very helpful and pleasant. I would not hesitate coming back again to take care for my library needs.
